basically, the monitor produces 2 separate images interlaced, one for your left eye and one for your right, and when you wear those sweet dynamically polarized glasses the image comes to life in 3D. Im not trying to be negative but I dont see this catching on in the gaming communities, especially with FPS gamers. Most hardcore FPS gamers even refuse to use lcd monitors and still use crt monitors because of the faster refresh rate/response times and less blur so I get the feeling theyre not going to want 3d monitors messing with their "1337 aim"
I've always had serious apprehensions about Diablo in 3d. I'm just afraid of what the finished product might look like, a product that would lose that classic Diablo feel to it.

I want a 3d TV though
That was exactly what i was thinking when i saw these coming out. I've been a fps gamer for awhile (almost as long as ive been a diablo gamer) and im also a complete videophile. i was actually surprised to see that the zalman monitor's specs are pretty decent, although personally i wont play any fps games without anything less that 2ms response. But for an action RPG 5ms isn't too bad, and 3d would be pretty sweet. I'm pretty split on this topic so I'm not voting either way.
Brightness 300~400 cd/㎡
Contrast Ratio 1000:1
View Angle 2D View Angle : 160˚(L/R) / 160˚(U/D)
3D View Angle : 90˚(L/R) / 10˚~12˚(U/D)
Response Rate 5ms
Frequency Horizontal 30 ~ 80 KHz
Vertical 56 ~ 75 Hz
Resolution 1680 x 1050

I might be mistaken but i think you misunderstood the post topic. This has nothing to do with a 3D gameplay. I am sure D3 will be 2.5D like D2 was, but on a 3D monitor the characters and the environment would have depth and perspective. no moving camera angles or such. sort of like watching a movie vs watching a movie in 3D.
Sounds like a gimmick to me. It would be cool to check out but I don't see myself wearing the stupid 3D glasses all the time or forking out the extra money for 3D when I could just use that to get a larger LCD, probably widescreen.
When it has ones like "SEGA" and "EA" it means that that's the company the published the game above. So Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix was published by EA, makes sense as it's true. The Shivering Isles is ESRB. etc.

Ah, then yes I did misunderstand you. Would I wear like 3D glasses then?
I don't want Diablo to get involved in that. Or anyone, for that matter. I want people to make games, not advance technology and get away with bland games...
yea.. you would wear the glasses but they i read that they are pretty top notch, one lens is polarized vertically and the other horizontally so each eye get a different image. works out just like old stereoscope heres a pic:
Edit - oh and if anyone is in NY or pheonix or any of these other listed places, you can try it out for yourselves: http://iz3d.com/t-neexperienceit.aspx

Okay. Great. I still think its a gimmick. I don't care if they look cool or not. lol.

They listed EA alone. Not on the same line as a game. Same for Sega. They listed it twice, alone. Those are not games. They are companies and I doubt all of those companies games are compatible. They also listed ESRB alone, which is not a game, its a rating system.

what winston said is true... its just that the company's names shifted down when i copied/pasted from the zalman website. (this only happened for 4 of the titles too..) but what u said about ESRB is true. i dont know why they have ESRB listed as the company for oblivion when everyone knows its bethesda. here is a direct link to the list so u skeptics can see for yourself. http://www.zalman.co.kr/ENG/Contact/FAQ/READ.asp one limitation though, is that you need 32bit vista to use the monitor.
Edit- oh and i posted those pics of the glasses to show that they arnt using that old red/blue technology. with these new glasses all the colors stay true and that the glasses are now alot more comfortable than shtty cardboard cutouts.
Hello I'm Charlie from iZ3D,
I'm the Technical Support Engineer and Web Master and noticed your interest about the iZ3D Monitor here, so I thought I should stop by and answer some questions you may have regarding our product.
To start off,
We do require glasses, as mentioned. But they are not the dorky kind. You get 2 glasses and one clip-on pair when you receive our product. We also sell our additional product line of glasses here: http://iz3d.com/t-3dglasses.aspx
As you can see, they are pretty much the same as Sun Glasses. Just with one lens polarized at a separate angle.
Our monitor itself is pretty unique, because we use two LCD Panels, which means that the resolution is identical to both eyes.
Our driver works on Windows XP 64/32bit, and Vista 64/32bit DirectX 8-9 Applications, with both nVidia & ATI video cards. Our driver works by hooking the DirectX engine and creating the required output to display on our monitor to show the 3D. This means that our driver works on virtually any DX8-DX9 game, the ones on our supported list are ones that we tested heavily in our offices. If there are issues with some games, users usually report it on our forums/tech support system, and the issue is usually resolved in the next Update.
I myself have not tried D2 on our Monitor, although I want to since the Diablo series was my start with the PC Gaming world. I played them non-stop.
Although, we have done a lot of testing with World of Warcraft, and from our experience, it looks very good.
I'll keep tabs on this forum, so feel free to ask me any questions you may have.

what is your company's policy on dead pixels? do the monitors work with an sli setup? how about 3-way sli or quad sli? (i run dual 7950 gx2) i heard that the picture can be grainy in 2D mode, so can i run my system with an iZ3D monitor + a regular monitor?
its pretty cool that you found this forum, and decided to sign up and and post answers. It shows how you guys are willing to work with customers/potential customers. I've been wanting one of these for awhile, and i wondered where would be a good place to go and see this technology first hand?

tbh I'm having a hard time imagining a 3D game on a 3D monitor
I wonder what WoW with 3D monitor looks like
Edit- Yea, I saw those specs too. I wonder if Ghosting would apply to a 3D monitor though?

Or its a lie. But I dont see why anyone would do that
Question to Charlie - If it uses 2 lcd monitors and displays 2 images simultaneously wouldn't it slow down the graphics card further? Lowering FPS?

Yeah yeah. Sega had 3D glasses on the Master System back in the 80s that were not red\blue and it STILL didn't catch on.
