Guys im so dissapointed... I'm 24 years old now and lost my interest in hardcore gaiming since im finishing my studies next year, but when yesterday they've announced D3 i was in heaven!
But then i watched this gameplay video crap and i think this all wrong. Not only color-sheme, but look at those statues and columnes! They are like those from cartoon network chanel!
Blizzard please make changes for us, who were playing the game since D1 (1996). WoW players has Wow, let us have our Diablo...
i agree!!! they gonna make a huge mistake if continue like this..:(:(:(:(
You increased the brightness a bit, you cheater ^_^.
Even this is 10 times darker than the D3 demo.
Not to mention more realistic.
I have to say it's more appealing too.

lol it can still easily be a ranger since who said you cant shoot arrows at melee distance xD

The Barbarian is from Arreat, a very cold snowy mountain top, but they are much tougher than normal humans, so they don't need warmth.

Where are Barbarians originally from? Sumeria, or more specifically Mesopotamia, AKA Europe. Think the Alps and the Pyrenees
sure it is...Blizzard konws the fans will buy it, now they are trying to rope in everyone else with the happy colour scheme, which happens to be very popular in asia... which is a large market.
I'm pretty tired of the suppressed color palette. What with so many games adhering to that ugly brown style, I really have no interest in muting the color in this game. I don't want it to look like a Satruday cartoon, but I think Blizzard can achieve a balance between color, without being colorful, and "dark". I think a mix between the two styles shown in the pictures would be good.
Ergh. Definitely not as good as the other conversions. This one just has the colours bleached out and some cracks added, nothing more
Maybe not as good, but I'd still take it over what they currently have. The thing I like about it is all the editing into the blood and battle marks on the environment.

I'd say it's worse due to the fact that everything still looks like it's made from lego blocks. It's not sharp, it's still silky-smooth and polished, and that's what bothers my eye...
Ok, everyone.
Don't get me wrong.
I love Horror movies, Listen to Heavy Metal, and 90% of the time wear black. AND I Loved Diablo 2 mostly for the dark atmosphere. BUT, think about it this way....
We've only seen two places. I believe blizzard wants to convey many different emotions all throughout the game. You can't expect EVERYWHERE to be dark and gritty. They've had 20 years of peace. You just can't expect the whole world to turn dark in an instant. They want a very eclectic color scheme. And they all aren't bright, there are some pretty dark looking places. I'm just saying you shouldn't get all up in arms so quickly.
When you heard the announcement, how happy were you? Has it already faded? Well then I guess you really didn't deserve it if you wanna bitch so much. Sure, I voted some areas coud be tweaked, but it's really not that bad at all. I'm jovial.

still looks like WoW's armor, hair, body parts, color, etc.
You have to be blind to not see the the similarities.

"[Diablo1+2] obviously had the gothic look to it, but, you they weren't, they weren't very uh, very colorful games."
"We want to take dark as an emotion, rather than an actual color art choice." -Rob Pardo
"Why the hell shouldn't it be for 'kiddies', it's a goddamn game afterall." -lethlan
Lets see here, we have seen less than a percent of the game and we're already bitching. I also agree with the person above, wow, use of the color palette besides black, grey, and black grey. Fuck me silly, what an idea.
Yeah, seems like everyone here wants a game that only uses gray, black, and ... gray.
The only thing they need to do is make the game overall darker, and by that I mean the color brightness. Sort of how you can turn the brightness down on a monitor or TV..
Agreed, I think this is one of the bigger problems right now, the textures are very low quality.
I believe people wouldn't be complaining so much if the textures on said "cartoony" models were realistic and detailed.
I believe people sense that it's not just one or 2 things that are missing in the game, it's a plethora of things that we didn't expect from such a title, or developer, and it's hugely disappointing.
Now THAT'S a sight for sore eyes! Fantastic.

Would be fun to see the results...

A grainy effect would be nice, as well.
