i'd like the same style as diablo ii, as in the perspective and camera view. but an upgrade on the graphics would definitely be nice, to make it 3d and smoother!
i defiantly want the same camera view as D2 but more detailed and 3D.....i just hope they stick to there roots in this game and keep what made diablo great to begin with

The Graphics ala Diablo II are a bit old and new technology PC's can only support HD games so the Diablo II no longer supports Windows XP as compatibilitied.
Mind clarifying that a little? Mine runs fine on XP. Do you just mean on computers with HD monitors and XP OS's?
I think the only way to make Diablo III as great as we all want it to be is to, as someone has already said, stick to the basics. The series has always been about that. Simplicity is what made/makes it so addictive and all-encompassing in its player horizon. While it may seem dumbed-down to most heavy RPG fans, to the casual "newbie" to the genre it's perfectly complicated and deep- albeit slated more on the action side, obviously. It's inviting to all players, not just the...well, you get my point.
In any case, I believe this concept can be carried in to the graphic level, as well. Isometric view is what gives you the best ability to control crowds of monsters with single attacks, as is the nature of the playability of Diablo. Anything less would be a different game altogether. The system was made easier to draw in the more simple-minded (sorry if this offends you at all), with the clean and easy to understand skill trees and character inventories, to the ability to simply click-and-attack. Some people view this as a weakness, I offer that it is a strength. Blizzard took a risk with a "dumbed-down" game, and it worked out just fine, I'd say.
The graphics, now, if anything, just need a step toward realism. Fine detail, expression, emotion, and the like all worked heavily in to monsters, items, embellishment, etc. Diablo has long been the realization of humanity with the twist of magic and spirits, but without all the cartoony gloss like Warcraft and WoW. Realism is what, in part, helps make Diablo unique- that and the dark, gothic feel that a lot of us missed in the second installment and expansion, but that is another thread and another time.
I'd prefer the camera view like God of War...The Graphics ala Diablo II are a bit old and new technology PC's can only support HD games so the Diablo II no longer supports Windows XP as compatibilitied.
That made no sense whatsoever lol. I can run it just fine on my machine (XP and Vista dual boot) using a Geforce 9800 GX2 and a 27" Samsung 1920x1200 LCD monitor (connecting through HDMI.)
Anyway I'd like:
1. Same isometric perspective.
2. 3d models instead of sprites.
3. Same dark/gothic feel and look.
4. Same hack and slash gameplay.

For some reason whenever I think of Diablo with crazy next-gen graphics my stomache twists.
"A step towards realism" but JUST a step. Not a leap.
We both essentially said the same thing, you just want to go and devalue what I meant by "step". In any case, we all basically know graphics can't get much better nowadays until they start defining things on smaller levels. Like the atomic level.
I'm an old-fashioned (and probably boring) kinda guy (emphasis on old. and boring.), but I'd like it to look similar to Diablo II, with the same isometric perspective, only with a newer engine, as it looks like the case is going to be with StarCraft vs. StarCraft II.
I really like the way Budler's Gate looks like (even though I never played it) so I wouldn't mind seeing Diablo 3 looking like that. But I still want the glass orbs for life and mana as well as the stanima bar, etc.
What comes next? Its Baldur's Gate. And im recommending everyone to play it, its a great game. The storyline is at least as good as Diablo. If you wont play the first one, at least read the story somewhere. Though you can actually play it with the newer game engine via mods, im highly recommending to play both BG 1 and BG 2 with their expansions ofcourse.
To stay on-topic; BG's graphics arent actually much different than Diablo. Its just like Starcraft or another isometric-wiew strategy game. Diablo is a little closer though. I dont get why BG was even in the list...
personally I would like to see Diablo 2 graphics, but slightly enhanced to include a bit more detail, more pretty magic spells (I love watching the pretty animations :3 but I like anything shiny/pretty). The main reason why I want them to keep the Diablo 2 graphics and update them a little bit is because
a) Why mess with a great thing?
These graphics of games can be run by essentially ANY computer!! I love that thought, the fact that ANYBODY can literally play this.
And c) as long as there’s enough content in there to keep me interested old schoolish graphics are a great thing, but I don’t know why…
there going to keep the blood thats like diablos thing they made "titan quest" to have another game like diablo but there is no gore in that game =( that would make that game so much better but its still a great game but diablo is way better

Wow its been way to long and if anybody has any idea hot to get my hi-hat pedal to stand up email me at heath-_fuller@hotmail.com this isnt cool it wont stand up god im so pissed:mad:
Eventhough there is not gore in titan quest. It is still better. It may lag a bit, but you just have to have the right settings picked. They should keep the gore in Diablo, because that was the cool part of it. To see a dead body layered with blood. Sweet.:D

Jk, although that would be amazing.
There was an interesting article I found awhile back (at Gamespot of all places lol) that some may find to be a good read.
