What about more than 1 player is playing the same account? I am pretty sure that a lot of top ranked players are botting but i'm also pretty sure some of them might be sharing their account. 300h+ played time does not mean they are botting.
When I was young , I remember in D2 me and my brother used to share the same account. Maybe some of the top player are legit and are simply sharing their account. What do you think?
thus the phrase "brother chris" (ya i did it with help my brother chris ...). come on now. really?
i mean botting is so widespread now, just by checking my friend list and looking at more and more people turning to bot and playing 24/7
and you know what the sad thing is, some people will look at this thread or the leaderboard and say to themselves if they can get away with botting why can't i also do it
Bot or account sharing, I do hope that they start sorting the leader boards out, because as they stand right now, it's not anywhere near fair play. I can accept that people can play 10-12 hours most per day, but close to 23-24 hours is humanly impossible.
I've too sent a report to Blizzard about this, after spending 20 minutes circumventing their lousy support system so I could attach files to the darn ticket. If people put enough pressure on them, they hopefully will respond to it.
actually u can play more than 24 hours, just not everyday..
when i was 14 years old, it was not that unusual too me just starting playing diablo 2 on saturday and stopping playing at sunday around midnight, without sleeping... but yeah, it was like, 1 time each week doing this

i have 2 friends on my list that i used to play with them long before they started to bot, we were around 800 paragon , now they are using bot all the time, they are 2050 paragon today,i'm around 1300+ , they are doing speed i guess around 68-70 runs for three day straight with bot and then they log to play for a one night finish some sick GR for a leaderboard and they are cocky saying around i need to get to paragon 2400 , i need to finish gr 100 need this and this, every piece of gear, key, mats, hf ammy, bot did that for them, plus PARAGON, that is becoming a very big deal of this game, nobody will use for example me as DPS with 1300+ paragon ( i can run zdps ofc ) in 4-team that i did get LEGIT and know stuff about class builds how to play it, they will chose them only cause of paragon since they do more damage, i don't care really, just wanted to share that, cause they are like million cases like that in diablo 3, so yeah game is infected and BOT does affect everything in this game.
Ifyou really are 1300 and you are as good as you say, there is no reason you shouldn't be able to find a good group to grift with. I know plenty of people that bot that aren't cocky and do everything they can to help me out with gear, mats, uber runs etc. If it really upsets you that much, feel free to join the infection and bot yourself.

No need to speculate about this topic, its a fact, if you watch those guys streaming 18 hours non-stop. They will spam GR ONLY, how is it possible to have so many keys? all their stream is GR, not a single time farming normal rifts for keys...
Blizzard knows they bot, but they wont ban them, because they are streaming and attracting a ton of views and possible consumers.
We all have seen these guys using exploits and getting their character removed... What is stopping them from boting?
The problem is the Infinite paragon farming end-game, paragon should be nerfed hard after 800 .
Amen. Statgain +1 instead of +5.
That will never happen because of Non season players, they should buff the XP required per level after 800 by 5x instead .
ps: now that i think about it, that will never happen as well because it would be unfair to new players, i guess we will only see any change on this subject when we get a new expansion and paragon is reseted for everyone, until that happens we will have this boring end-game about grinding XP for months .
Occam's Razor: Among competing hypotheses, the one with the fewest assumptions should be selected
People with 300+hours out of a possible 312.
Hypotheses 1: Botting
Hypotheses 2: They have figured out a schedule between multiple players either sleeping during the day to play at night, or playing from different time zones to maximise available play time, even accounting for server downtime and patch roll-outs.
Which has the fewest assumptions? Where does burden of proof lie?

I call overexaggeration. Theres less then 1000 players who have managed GR 100 outside of season according to diabloprogress.com. As for Paragon, it gets less and less important as you get higher and higher, and runs into stronger and stronger diminishing returns as you get higher up - Going from Paragon 800-1000 is equivalent to a 3 GR lvl boost, whereas going from 3200-3400 is barely a single extra GR worth, and the progression value of, say, 9000-10000 would be around half that of 1000-2000.
It takes time for blizzard to identify botters (I mean accurately) BUT... they will get banned eventually. We've already seen it in the past, there are several "ban waves" during seasons. People might be already flagged as bot-users but they won't get kicked until the next ban wave, and I think a majority of them will be.
Why does it take so long to get rid of them? I don't make any accusation here but this is what I think: Bots are actually makes money for B.... Firstly, they bring a lot of advertising to the game (just look at all topics about them), secondly when bot players get banned what do they do? In most cases they will buy a new license $_$. What a good deal for B. don't you think? Just look at what happens for WoW botters => they just get a warning and a temporary ban. Why? because if they were permanently banned, they wouldn't pay their xx $/month. 2 games, 2 different punishments, coincidence...?
To keep a d3 bot player buying licenses, you shouldn't ban him too often. Just program 2 or 3 banwaves a year and maybe 40, 60 ...80% of them would buy a new d3 licence after getting banned permanently.
That's why I think bots won't ever disappear completely. Again these are just my thoughts, I don't make any accusation here nor I have proof of any of this.

I can't remember vanilla but for RoS they haven't had a ban wave for botting, only for hellfire amulet and bloodshard exploits. I may be wrong so feel free to link to a blue post stating a ban wave went out for botting.
It is not even worth to try to compete anymore for ranking. A friend directed me to a website where there are tons of bots: Ghom bots, Bounty bots, Rift bots, of course Turbo Hud, advanced macros, etc... Call me naive but I did not think it was so extensive.
So I went to look at a well known Twitcher (Who got his account cancelled last season) and watched him play for a good 30 minutes doing 80+ GR. What an eye opener it was!!!
1 - The team of four NEVER ended up in a dead end while doing a GR. NEVER!
2 - It seems they knew exactly where was each pylon and each elite group.
3 - During the whole time I watched him, His eyes continuously went to his left. It took me a while to figure out what it was. I think he was watching one of his team mate steaming privately with Turbo Hud on.
4 - I noticed also quite some feasts of jumping VERY FAST out of trouble. He never was caught on the ball of an arcane. He and his team mates were able to jump very fast and each time out of ice explosion or ice orbs. I watched quite a few times Quinn and he is not THAT good like those players.
Anyway. I am just sayin here...
You do know, if you play enough you learn the map lay outs right? , the only map that's actually random is the bone pit one that is a sewer map in act 5 right?!
half the maps are maps that are in story mode and half of them have one or two entrances right...
to reach the top of the leaderboard you have to fish and find the perfect rift, I for one don't care to that extent. nor do i care about snapshotting or anything where i have to go an extra mile to rank up, If bots upset you to this degree i suggest playing hardcore, hardly any bots and even if they bot, bots are dumb, they get stuck and break chances of them dying is great in hardcore.
I can lead a 4-player GR and tell you where every door/dead end /Studder is with nothing but experience. the game is beyond simplified,
I feel the only banning they will do this season is for those cheating the game and getting duplicate starter sets in hardcore. (for example to those who haven't made it to 70 yet and are probably crying in this thread) 1-70 - Mailed 2 pieces of set, Kill Z Kulle - Mailed another 2 piece of set, and solo GR 20 and get the final 2 set pieces.

TurboHUD is mandatory for HC, 99% of the top 100 are using, SC isn't so bad but you can be sure that at least 60% of the top 100 are using .
Remove retard GR keys and even more boring & waste of time Bounties.
Problem solved! nothing to bot anymore.
i've won even without a bot (check season HC leaderboard) but already quitted coz of them.Even dedicated player like me can't keep up. Whatever.
+1botter -1nonbotter = zero. noone gain
ehhh Blizzard wake up, cya season 6 for another 2 weeks.
How are bounties a waste of time? they're used to farm mats... and grift keys are stupid easy to farm. I think the main issue comes down to not wanting to play the game. Diablo 3 is a dungeon crawler where the main focus is... guess what? GRINDING. Just like d2 just like the original diablo. Go figure right?
Bounties and grift keys are not a issue. They removed trials which were quite honestly very unnecessary, and that solved the issue period (concerning a very annoying mechanic to do end game grifts).
I think the type of posts that players like you make, belong in the thoughtless think tank known as the d3 official forums. Plenty of threads there you will enjoy.
Honestly they need to come up with an automated system that little to no information is released to the public and when someone bots it's an auto permaban to d3 servers.
