Okay, I'm 80% sure that the upcoming Beta key is SC2 related, but if it happens to be a
Diablo 3 - Beta Key
and you won't be able to go to BlizzCon (not from USA, expensive flight, job.. etc).
How much are you willing to pay for a Beta Key for the best game of the next five years ?
Me: I can't go beacuse i'm not from USA, flight cost + hotel + $100 for the entrance would cost way too much and i'm afraid it won't even be Diablo 3 related.
I would be able to pull of at least $120 bucks, maybe $150~ but i won't be paying $200+, beacuse it's just not viable. (dolar = 1.9 * money)
Note: Sorry starcraft fans, if you want you can post a value for SC2 beta key as well
if i was single living at gome still (which im not) lol got an apartment and a fiance i would pay over 400 $ 4 it. but with the givin circumstances most id pay is 100. Though lets just say the kid wh winds that bea key (if its for d3) better be surrouded by many many officers as he exits the premises. Hopefully they will just throw it into the crowd lol....i seem to win those kinda prizes alot
Beta:
A beta version is the first version released outside the organization or community that develops the software, for the purpose of evaluation or real-world black/grey-box testing. The process of delivering a beta version to the users is called beta release.
The users of a beta version are said beta testers. They are usually customers or prospective customers of the organization that develops the software. They receive the software for free or for a reduced price, but act as free testers.
Beta versions test the supportability of the product, the go-to-market messaging (while recruiting Beta customers), the manufacturability of the product, and the overall channel flow or channel reach.
Beta version software is likely to be useful for internal demonstrations and previews to select customers, but unstable and not yet ready for release. Some developers refer to this stage as a preview, a prototype, a technical preview (TP) or as an early access. As the second major stage in the release lifecycle, following the alpha stage, it is named after the Greek letter beta, the second letter in the Greek alphabet.
I'm against playing alpha/betas, they've always ruined the game for me once released.
They give you an edge over other players though, but that's about it.
A game like Diablo 3, I want to go into it like I did at 12 years old, a big dumb noob.
Ya for many games i decided to let other players test so when released i could enjoy a very good environment & everything i have it's 'mine'(not realy mine).
But i just can't wait 4 years to an actualy release
i would pay 100 for it, being among the first to play the game outside the company would be kickass.
and i disagree with it being SC2 related, because blizzard dodged that by stating "an upcoming game" with all the hyp going around about SC2, why wouldnt they add that people would get to play SC2 beta? but no, the left it in the clouds. either its for hype, or its diablo 3.

Maybe that way they can make sure both SC fans & Diablo fans buy the ticket meanwhile adding that mystery to the announcement.
That wouldn't be that hard to believe would it ?

didnt they do the exact thing about a month before the announcement? "We have nothing about StarCraft II at present". But of which other upcoming Blizzard game do we know about?
now on topic, i wouldnt pay to play a game beta. If i'm chosen as a tester i'll be extra happy. If not, i wont mind. My favorite magazine always gets it among the first so i get info very soon. I'll pay for the game on release, no need to pay for a beta aswell.
If their are trying to throw people off it would be the other way around everyone else but us D3 Fanatics thinks its about SC2 if they were trying to be sneaky it would be D3 related.
