So long as the speed remains they can change it. That is however one of the things that always happen when graphics increase, it is that speed decrease.
PlugY for Diablo II allows you to reset skills and stats, transfer items between characters in singleplayer, obtain all ladder runewords and do all Uberquests while offline. It is the only way to do all of the above. Please use it.

I'm sorry, but i disagree with everyone who said that it should have d2 graphics. I mean, the graphics in d2 were awesome, but an entirely different game with d2 graphics? It might as well be another giant ass expansion with more chars and shit. There should be a definite graphics improvement. But the things they should keep from diablo 2 are things like, the click/attack technique, instead of just clicking one enemy and engaging automatic attack like other rpg's, diablo and diablo 2 required that you constantly clicked them, i found that very cool because when you give someone 500% extra attack speed (i've seen it legit on an amazon), its awesome. I also liked the simplicity of the spell system, instead of like, finding scrolls to make spells or something, each class had spells or abilities that were predefined, that kept it simple yet fun, because the more points u invested in them, the more awesome they would get. But for the things they should change, one of them could be the level's, mabye 99 doesn't have to be the end point for levels, and graphics improvements are a must, otherwise like i said b4, its just an expansion.
i agree D2 graphics would just be like a huge expansion i want somethign more 3D and still some of the factors from D2 ....i think maybe the same kind of play as D2 just diffrent graphics some kind of 3dness
Well i like the Graphics like Oblivion ,twilight princess,Guidl wars, and also might and magic, cuz i know for sure i did not make this comp i have for 3000$ a crappy one other then that,i had thought diablo 3 was a myth, and when i had seen the Trailers for it i was like NO WAY!!!! so yeah ima get d3 when it comes out heh and ima play it
How can u vote for WOW... that game makes me shudder everytime i hear it's
name.
People cant always have the same feelings to WOW as you do. Some people like playing diablo and warcraft. Maybe they feel that there should be a change to gameplay to diablo. Who knows...but it is there opinion and leave it to that.

i just started to play Oblivion.. i just thinks its fuckin' rad ... and i think that d3 should be like it but bigger.. and obviously with there random item drop rates and elements of d2...
I really like that pic ErickAnderson...If they had to make D3 on consoul. But when they make d3 for counsol...i perfer simular graphics to d2....or maybe 2.5d graphics.

That NPC part Ferret.. Those were all bad effects. I don't wan to think "Oh, I've been healing so much lately, maybe I shouldn't do it". I want good AND bad effects.

I have been contemplating this for some time. When you look at the graphics of Diablo 2 you notice a certain sense of "old school" about them. The fact that it is almost bird's eye view but at the same time it isn't. I believe that to stimulate the senses of the new generation of gamers we need to up the playing field. We need to bring in a whole new line of graphics.
Now I use to play World of Warcraft before I got bored of it and because it got to complicated to enjoy. But I did love the graphics that were used. So I would have to say that the graphics of World of Warcraft would be a good way to go.

Which few others agree with. Also, cartoonish graphics have always dominated in the Warcraft Universe, but does no belong in Diablo.
Maybe not exactly like Warcraft graphics. Yes they were a bit cartoonish and lacking in depth. However, they were also efficient. You do not want to make the graphics of any game so massive and in-depth, that the graphic overcome the computer and game play of said game. So when you talk about graphics you have to look at multiple factors.
Graphic Cards – Are they so “amazing” that the graphic cards on the market today can’t handle them?
Time – Will the time spent on the graphics be worth the time admiring them? Are the graphics and textures seen through out the dungeons and towns too immense that you have to have a loading screen every place you go?
Efficiency – Do they fulfill their purpose, yet still provide and in-depth, real life look and feel to the environment and players?
And thenwe have to see where D3 is most likely to go.
Graphics are most often what creates hype. Just look at the recent times. PS3 had a huge hype earlier years, because it was going to have Cell-processors that would make it the maddest console out there. Gears of War had great graphics and got tons of hype. Plus, the good-looking games attract attention from buyers.
However, Blizzard is smarter than that. First of all, most players of Diablo 2 will buy the third, as most players of Starcraft will buy SC2. They have a potential fanbase that doesn't care if the graphics are flashy so long as they get the next installment.
But that does not mean that no focus can be put on the graphics. It needs content, but grapics is an important part of that. Most of that is to lure new players. You are not going to get any new players without good graphics. That is what draws them.
And lastly, Blizzard isn't going to make a game that puts cutting-edge technology to the pressure. Just look at all their games. WoW has a minimum requirement that is, and was, much lower than other games released at the time. However, there are many options for changing your settings, so you can play the game with a monster computer if you wish.
So in conclusion, I believe that Blizzard will not release an eye-candy shell, but the graphical options will be there for people with good computers.

A little bit off topic here but...I want to add to Ferrets discussion about NPC's and their goods. I think they should sell more often socketed items. It is kinda a drag when you are looking endlessly for a 5 soc flail for cta or a 6 soc phase blade. Just something to add.

Heh... To boot, they could start by sellig normal items.
I seriously see no point whatsoever in all merchants selling just magic items. No one uses them, so why bother with having them?

diablo 2 ofcourse.
maybe more gritty, dark, medieval and daunting.
the atmosphere of the game should be more important than the graphical innovations it has, although the two go together aswell.
You need graphical innovations to create a darker more grotesque atmosphere for the game.
