i think when u said "Graphics similar to..." people put into consideration the camera view, thats why most of them chose D2. but cmon? D2's graphics? its 2008 people! i would say graphics similar to fable... graphics wise, not camera wise.
I voted for Diablo II graphics on the one posted on 6-28. However, after studying the graphics of the other games more closely, I think that God of War has the cleanest, most detailed and realistic looking graphics. I posted the following excerpt on a battle.net D3 thread that stated D3 was not gloomy enough - too colorful. I thought I'd post it here too. This sums up how I feel about the graphics at the moment...
----------------------------------
Personally, I like the dark, demonic, claustrophobic, tension-ridden environment with all the blood, gore, and entrails. What I see missing in the new artwork is the awesome clarity and demonic posture of the Diablo I and II graphics. Change, though, is inevitible. As I surfed through the artwork I noticed that some of the work had that clarity, and some of it did not. They did keep the camera perspective though, and I'm glad of that. It is a much better arena.
When I first played Diablo II I fell in love with the graphics. But when I saw the first viper I was taken aback. The vipers in Diablo were more colorful, detailed, and beautiful than any other PC or NPC in the entire set of Diablo games. I couldn't believe that they caricatured such a beautiful model. It's like taking Michelangelo's artwork down to put up Van Gogh's. But at the same time, I really loved what they had done with Diablo. He was awesome in D2.
Of course, nothing can really be determined by what we've seen so far. I just think some of the artwork needs more clarity. Regardless, I will buy the game and pay to play if I have to. I won't even sit here and try to fool myself into believing otherwise.
i voted titan couse its have same style, havok systems and "real poly models"
yet that diablo 3 has his self identity.

...had a nightmare ...Tyrael finally embraced the shadows... damn Wstone.
"So we're trying to that right kind of balance between Diablo I and Diablo II
dungeons, but with maybe a bit more of a World of Warcraft exterior experience"
I registered just to say how psyched I WAS for D3, but now I realize what happened when the original team that did d1&2 disbanded. DIABLO DIED!! This isn't what D3 should be. No matter, somehow BLIZZARD makes sales, so to hell with all the fond memories. Eight years delay for nothing. RIP DIABLO
it still has use... we can still bash all the people who voted for WoW
lol wows artstyle isnt that bad....tho it certainly does not really belong in a diablo game.....but as for the graphics engine i would of been fine with that
