i think that they going to have all new char with some skill from d2 like the hydra but this time i hope that the hydra have a full body instead of just three head stuck in the ground and they probably bring back the pally and the barb but i don't they the barb is going to be a playable char
i still think a cleric would work in diablo
healing spells, can summon devas, raise the dead comrades, animate dead corpses of enemies, has spells that raise his armor and damage, turn undead, summon aerial servants, has a few protective magic spells like fire/lightning shields, can call upon the wrath of his deity to smite his enemies,
for a game that is about heaven and hell there is very few priests, whether good or bad.
and yeh with good clerics tunr undead usually destoys them but with evil clerics than can control undead

-Humankind cannot gain anything without first giving something in return. To obtain, something of equal value must be lost. That is alchemy's First Law of Equivalent Exchange. In those days, we really believed that to be the world's one, and only, truth.
Well Just personally I think yes a vampire would be cool in replace of necro. Maybe a pharro replacing paladin but he would be less melee. Samuria would be cool kind of the barbarian melee char. an alchemist as sort of the sourceror of the game. and Magi the desert warrior replacing amazon.
i think the cleric would work but for some reason people keep on bashing that idea
im bashing the cleric because its just a pally and necro rolled into one. Which is retarded if they are going to keep necro and pally. If they dont keep the necro and pally sure that char would be cool.
they will probably have the old chars but as npcs, rather than playable chars, so in that case the cleric is a must.
(will be doing what what i usually do, soon i will repost all char ideas people have suggested and put them into one easy to read list. thus saving people having to read 90 odd pages, they can just read 1 or 2 3 tops, seems logical enough, course i wait abit for some more ideas to be put forward, i believe AcidReign has a few)

i guess when you think about it from D1 to D2 they used those same 3 characters plus others. So i guess its possible for them to use some of the same characters, but with like different looks and stuff.
So far most the Diablo characters have been DnD core classes, which is cool, but they have some more DnD classes that havent been used yet, so maybe we can see some of them is D3. Such as bard, cleric, and monk.
well there was a bard and a monk in diablo hellfire, if you recall but the kinda sucked. well the monk was ok, but it could have been better

monk isnt a mage class its a warrior class, and sorcerer/ress is a a different class from mage, mage can be split into any number of classes

how about a character kinda like "sword master" from soul calibur; he/she can use any wepon available in the game, even class specific, and has a blend of unique skills that are almost similar to other chars, yet different.

wouldn't that kinda be like titan quest where you just pick 2 "masteries" and then it's all down hill from there. i think that would actually be a good idea for d3

The soul reaper, when u kill a monster they drop a soul or can be activated like the necro can see bodies wehn summoning then use these souls to transform into the slain monster and have the flash effects of devil may cry 1 where u only see the over shadow of the shapshift while u strike

If the pigeon had a face shall the man walk a wolf?
Some of you guys are just trying to butcher diablo. Like elfen said it is The influence on MAN. good or evil, hmmmmm seems like a good idea. They need to have about 7 classes. The first diablo had 3 classes, then diablo 2 had 5, then the expansion added 2 more. So diablo 3 should have 7 characters to start with, and then maybe add some more in an expansion, if they even have any. They will keep some of the other characters. I don't think they will have an assassin. She wasn't that strong in the game. They will probably have a sorc again, they will have a barb and a zon, they were VERY popular. I hope they have a necro again. I think they will probably try to find a middle class for a warrior and a sorc at the same time. Maybe a spell sword or something like that. You all forget that if they make so many characters then the graphics will be lacking. If they make it like WOW then they will lose a diablo fan for good. (ME!!!)

I agree, lets keep the Diablo world seperate form the Warcraft world. As for new chars like the 7 they have minus the Assassin because she was pretty weak, and they should replace her with something like a priest. If Blizzard can come up with a system(not stealing) like KOTOR it will be awesome.
vampires arent human, they are vampires!, or humanoids at the least
we kill vampires in diablo, and enjoy the hell out of it

Diablo and Diablo 2 are very similar. The warrior was just replaced with the paladin and barb. The sorcerer was replaced with a sorceress and a necro and the rogue was replaced with a zon. They will probably do the same thing, but don't forget that when they replaced these classes, they put images into our head that we love. Who won't miss there paladin? who won't miss there zon? TOO MANy PEOPLE. They will keep the characters. I put my money on it. also they will just go into more specific characters I think. I think you guys are right on the money about good and evil. Also answer me this. Vampires die in the sun right??? ( I am talking about typical vampires, I don't like you guys comparing bloodrayne and underworld to diablo, they have NO contest so stop doing it) so how can you have that character unless the whole game is in darkness???
