-Humankind cannot gain anything without first giving something in return. To obtain, something of equal value must be lost. That is alchemy's First Law of Equivalent Exchange. In those days, we really believed that to be the world's one, and only, truth.
It would be good if you could choose how your merc leveled up.
Maybe you could hire a merc and keep it throughout the whole game and make it level up. As if it were a second of your character but you couldn't control it. You choose its class, gender, whatever and as it goes up lvls you decide what changes and what abilities it has. But it uses its abilities and stuff by itself.
Or you could just hire 'pre-owned' mercs, you could trade mercenaries online for money, items or other mercs. You could have a D3 business. Train a merc, give e;m good stats, sell them online. COuld be good
all we really need for mercs is;
better choices, be able to dicide where there skills/stats go, better ai, a few more items and hire 2 max, and choose whether they are aggressive or defensive

i know am fairly sure this has been said but i think it would be cool if you could get a merc and just have him be like a normal person and you could choose what type of class he would be as he advances in lvl. i know that say i wanted to be a rouge my melee attacks arent going to be so hot. so i am going to eed some help in that department. obviously it would all be around how the game is made. but at the same time i love guilds and that whole concept so if i knew my guild was all going to move over to d3 and we could all discuss what type of guys we were building then i guess i wouldent really need a merc. also i remember seeing somthing about geting animals i think it is a good idea but i feel that that should be like part of a druid class not so much as summon wolf but animal taiming. This way they could have animals in the wilderness that you could taim and take on your journey.
they are good on single player, they help a lot
we just need mercs with better ai, more mercs to choose from, be able to asign their skills/stats, a few more items(not the full set), more powerful, hire 2 max

Yup and that is why I completely agree. Quality not quantity...
So mercs should be smarter, you should be able to have 2 of them after you finish the game once, you need to be able to equip them better i.e. give them a potion belt and equip them with rings and an amulet and you should be allowed to allocate skill points and attribute points as they level up...
yes, better ai, better skills, the ability to choose where there skills and stats go when they level up, more mercs to choose from, more powerful, a few more items maybe a ring or an amulet, boots or gloves, i dont want the merc to have the full set of items(all 9) and yeh hire 2 max, mercs are good on single player esp for the sorc and barbar
