Blizz quote: "we’re also adding a way for players to earn additional Stash tabs, up to a maximum of 10, through our Season Journey feature."
It is a recent quote from blizzcon, and anything can change until release, but this way of thinking is incredibly bad and completely wrong (imo).
I am not a fan of the entire season thing, i do not like re-leveling over and over and competing for some epeen points on a ladder.
I like using my old characters that i have played on since d3 released, no point or interest for me in making a new one for the "season".
But what i do need is some damn stash space, especially since ALL d3 chars share the same tiny bank (who thought of that idea!?).
As someone that really hates the seasonal thing and i definitely do not want to do it - i can not gain any more stash tabs aside from the pitiful 1 i can buy with gold?
I do not understand why do only "seasonal" players need the extra stash space, while us non-seasonal players flat out can't get more than 1 tab?
I understand they are trying to motivate ppl to do seasonal content, but forcing people into it just for some mandatory UI (stash) upgrades is awful.
Stash space is something very useful to ANY d3 player, regardless of seasonal or not... makes no sense to screw over non-seasonal players.
D3 has by far the worst bag management i have seen in any game since 2005., and this "seasonal players only" thing is definitely NOT helping...
So you know, stash tabs transfer to non-season right?
I do not see how this is relevant?
I still have to play though the entire season with a seasonal character just to get a stash tab for my main characters that i actually want to play?
Or am i missing something?
So you know, stash tabs transfer to non-season right?
He is not talking about this. Its the fact that you need to play seasons to even get them.
@OP: I'm in the same boat. I hate seasons and now it looks like they are forcing us to play seasons for this... Why couldn't they just make them 100b each.
I am glad i am not the only one...
I do not care about seasonal content... i don't care about seasonal characters, or season-only items or leader boards...
I just want the damn max 10 stash tabs, because even with just 1 char per class i DESPERATELY need additional stash space.
I see the point and agreed, that is unfortunate. Playing just one season though should be enough to see the benefits in non-season.
If i got blizzard's message right, we get one stash tab per "Season Journey"?
If that Journey thing is per character and i need 4 to reach 10 (5 base + 1 from gold), then i have to fully play 4 seasonal characters?
Or is the Journey thing actually ONE per season - and i need to play 4 entire seasons to get the 4 tabs? Either way it is A LOT of forced seasonal content, and i do not have even one friend that likes the Seasonal content (among the 10 i play d3 with)...
Really shitty decision by blizzard, i hope they make all stash tabs available through (huge) amounts of gold.
Just play seasons, the game is so old now there is no reason your nonseasonal chars arent in 13/13 ancient. Just throw the junk away instead of hording useless items.
jesus christ .... this is getting ridiculous :\ ...some Non-Season player will simply NEVER be happy no matter what unless Season get completely removed from the game :\
first you complained about Seasonal Exclusive that you got at the end of the season instead of the beginning of it. After that some of you started to complain that Non-Seasonal was dying because of the damn season now that they remove seasonal exclusivity you find something else to complain about????
it's not hard season journey is simply a few achievement to go, like reach lvl 70, get X amount of gold, complete GR X lvl, level X ammount of gem to level Y .... basically you can be done with the entire season journey thing in like a week or two, once it's done, if you so hate season just delete the damn character and continue on your non seasonal and get it over with :\
it seems to me not only the diablo community but the entire gaming community is filled with toxic behavior and a community of cry babie that want everything handed to them as soon as they start complaining :\
Why does it always have to be about season vs non season. Personally i do not like how seasons work (my own opnion). Again IMO i didnt have any issue with season only items (as long as they are available after the season ends) but stash space for season only is a joke. I have invested that much time in all my characters and leveled all to 60 in vanilla diablo 3. I have one of each char on 70 and nearly 2. I have played the full game over and over. How about making a season for characters you already have and just judge the ladder on exp gained? Obviously there would need to be some more thought on this but i think a lot more d3 fans would be happy with seasons if you could somehow use current chars.
Also continue with end game content its great. Make rewards for end game stash space perhaps?
And stop concentrating on items and get on with the expansion.
"Once the feature goes live (which will most likely be between seasons) you will be able to purchase a second stash tab. The first stash tab of the second stash is automatically given when the purchase is made. After that, all the remaining 4 tabs will be obtain by completing (at some level) your seasonal journey, but limited by 1 tab per season, and therefore per unique seasonal journey"
Can you link the proof of one tab per season beyond the gold and earned tab please.
I do not understand why do only "seasonal" players need the extra stash space, while us non-seasonal players flat out can't get more than 1 tab?

Do you know what? I'm being "forced" to get paragon levels so i can get any chance to get on the leaderboard.
I'm being "forced" to complete my season journey so I can get a portrait (which I think I should be entitled to because I play this game.
I'm being "forced" to get to level 70 by myself - that is beyond ridiculous because there is no mid game and I have no friends to power level me, this will take 20 hours of my life and that will not be fun.
So blizzard wants you to play new content of 2.4 to unlock part of 2.4's content, that sounds reasonable.
Or maybe you should 'force' yourself into culling your stash down.
you do know their is multiple step in the season journey, therefore you will unlock it all in ONE season, but one tab per step of the journey ....
Ooo. I hadn't thought that was how it would go when I read that part of the news update. I assumed that it would be as Gorok states above. IE: one seasonal journey would only net you one additional tab. But if it's like that: Slayer +1 tab, Champion +1 tab, Destroyer +1 tab? That would be cool too... Wonder if you'd have to do that every season? Thanks for the (confirmation/correction) Kallizk
As for the OP. The focus on seasons. I'm going to apply some specious reasoning for a bit. They have to focus on the things that will yield the greatest potential for keeping their game from stagnating. There is no PvP. They have seasons. The majority of players are more likely to play the game if they have a mandated goal to complete. Seasons introduce a fresh set of explicit and implicit goals to achieve when you get into them. Nonseasonal has these as well of course. Sadly the previous statement should read "had" because more than likely they have been attained so long ago. To avoid that stifled feeling coercing you into thinking "what now", you are pressured into seasons. I'm probably bemoaning all the points you've heard time and again but it's important to keep in mind that retaining players' interest is highly important to the game and future development.
My version of your gripe involves grouping vs solo. So I commiserate in not wanting to participate but still feeling pressured into it. That all being said, I do hope they change their minds and provide a different cosmetic reward in seasons and hand out stash space to everyone. I can't speak for others but I would participate in Season 5, sans Seasonal Journey reward Stash space. Not sure if that's how others feel or not.
you do know their is multiple step in the season journey, therefore you will unlock it all in ONE season, but one tab per step of the journey ....
Sorry but you're wrong, rewatch the panel.
This will all be cleared up when the PTR goes live. I watched the panel. It was totally unclear.
There seems to be some conflicts in the presented plan.
New Tabs weren't the only thing they briefed. They also announce that you get Green Dragon Wings for completing all the Set Mastery achievements. But, the Set Mastery thing seemed to be a Seasonal Thing. I'm not really sure. Not clear either. But, if you are expected to complete the Set Mastery Achievement in a season, you will need the extra space as there are 24 sets you need to complete. It doesn't makes sense is that Set Mastery is seasonal at all. But if they intend for you complete it within a season it makes sense that you would unlock 1 tab with a half billion gold. And after your get the complete each of the 1st 4 chapters, you get an additional tab. Completing the 1st 4 chapters should be achievable in less than 2 weeks in casual play.
The set mastery achievement seems like it should be Nonseasonal. Seriously how are you going to get all that gear in the 4 months. You have to reach level 70 with 6 characters and then get all the loot for each character. This can be done. I'm pretty sure. But it conflicts with people actually competing on the leaderboard. So if it isn't seasonal, where are you supposed to put all that stuff if you can't unlock the tabs?
I really don't care for the whole Seasonal vs Nonseasonal argument. People like seasons. Others don't. Nobody is forcing anybody to play seasons. In fact, nobody is forcing you to play Diablo. But the stash tab issue conflicts with this Set Mastery achievement. It's going to be very hard to do under the time constraints of a single season. But, the guys who all ready have the characters and most of the gear to complete Set Mastery are the Nonseasonal players who have all ready leveled characters and have some of the sets. But there is no way anyone in Nonseasonal play have all the sets that can achieve Mastery level. You didn't have the stash space.
To be frank, I'm calling BS. Regardless of how they give out the tabs. The Set Mastery idea is in huge conflict with additional tabs. If you make Set Mastery a seasonal thing, you are under very tight time constraints to get 6 character to Mastery level in 4 months. If Set Mastery is not Seasonal, then you don't have the space to store all the sets. There is no logic to this. You either have the time but not enough stash space, or you have the stash space and not enough time. WTF?
so far i understand they give 5 more stash tab for buying but also u got chance to get extra 1 for playing season journey. i dont mind season only legs or cosmetic rewards but that stash tab issue includes non season too.

leaderboards are only for those who push it , to get the portrait do the objective's to get it , if you want it do seasons , & getting to lvl 70 only take's 30mins with a reasonably geared team if that with a group of 4 mayb 2-3hrs , ever herd of communitys?

From the looks of it, they could add even more down the road. 35-40, if the devs continue with the model and drop the max limit.

I see no problem in playing some season and do season journeys when I get little bored later in 2.4 so I can earn more stash space later when s5 ends
