So, this is the press release for Blizzard at gamescom 2015...
Blizzard Entertainment, Inc. today announced its biggest gamescom presence to date at gamescom 2015, where the company will showcase more games than ever before on over 500 game stations. The world’s largest interactive entertainment trade fair returns to the Koelnmesse in Cologne, Germany from Wednesday, August 5, to Sunday, August 9. Attendees who visit the Blizzard booth in Hall 7 will have the chance to get their hands on the latest content for Heroes of the Storm, Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft, StarCraft II: Legacy of the Void, Overwatch, and World of Warcraft: Warlords of Draenor.Visitors will also be able to enjoy a variety of live entertainment on the Blizzard stage, including crowd-favorite dance and costume contests. Attendees can also pick up some epic licensed apparel and collectibles at the Blizzard store in Hall 5.1. Hearthstone—Travel-weary card-slingers are welcome to take a load off and play a few rounds of Hearthstone. This deceptively simple, insanely fun online strategy card game now includes the brand-new single-player Adventure, Blackrock Mountain.
Heroes of the Storm—Iconic characters from Blizzard’s past and present will be out in force in Heroes of the Storm, Blizzard’s action-packed free-to-play online team brawler . gamescom 2015 attendees will be able to leap into the Nexus—a cosmic storm where Blizzard’s game worlds collide—and take control of legendary heroes and villains such as Thrall from the Warcraft universe; Jim Raynor fromStarCraft; Diablo, the eponymous Lord of Terror; and even the Lost Vikings: Erik, Baleog, and Olaf.
Overwatch—Overwatch will be playable publicly in Europe for the first time ever at gamescom 2015! In this futuristic team-based shooter, players choose from a diverse roster of colorful heroes and battle it out in fast-paced 6-vs.-6 combat. Allies will need to work together to complete battlefield objectives such as capturing strategic locations or transporting a payload across the map in order to emerge victorious.
StarCraft II: Legacy of the Void—Visitors will have the opportunity to playStarCraft II: Legacy of the Void, currently in closed beta testing. The third chapter of the epic StarCraftII saga concludes the single-player campaign storyline and adds new multiplayer units and features, including Archon mode—a new game type that allows two players to combine their expertise and control a single army—and Allied Commanders, where two players join forces, taking on the roles of powerful commanders from StarCraft history.
World of Warcraft: Warlords of Draenor—Would-be adventurers at gamescom can join the millions already playing World of Warcraft: Warlords of Draenor and pick up a quest or two at the Blizzard booth. On the savage world of Draenor, Grommash Hellscream and his mighty Iron Horde are on the warpath, and it’s up to Azeroth’s finest heroes to stop them.
And more—In addition to trying out games for themselves, players will be able to participate in a host of activities, including:
· Blizzard developer signing sessions taking place throughout the event
· Live entertainment on the main stage, including exciting show matches
· A chance to step into the spotlight to participate in costume and dance competitions
· Quizzes, contests, and much more

Makes sense. Nothing new to release about D3. Right now it seems like the only people interested in D3 news are the ones already playing it so I don't see a need for it to be at gamescon. If I did see them there I would be excited though, would mean something big would be inbound beyond content patches. Maybe next year.

Something would be nice. Like, a talk, a fan chat, anything. Diablo III is slowly becoming Blizzard's unwanted child .___.
Diablo isnt making them anymore money. Ofc they don't give a shit about it.
sub fee in diablo and it would become miles better
If Diablo 3 didn't make money, then they would stop development on the product. It makes them money, but it may not be a cash cow for them.
Also, they are investing a lot of capital into Overwatch, so it makes sense to give it a strong presence so it has a successful launch. A bad launch for Overwatch would result in a slowdown on all properties as they realign their product development capital to divest the property or improve it to bolster it's uptake in their product portfolio.
I would love to see it there, but I understand why it isn't. Unless another expansion comes out, and I'm not sure it will (or should) I don't expect D3 to be at any more conferences.
they are probably holding the big expac announcement for blizzcon this year.
Came here to say just that. They're not going to blow their big load at another Con' when they can wait till Blizzcon and have a whole big show all about the new Expac.

'big expac'?
new act
new class
new areas
new items

New game mode? we had adventure mode with ros, maybe a tower defense pvpve or a boss rush mode could come with this xpack.
The cursed realm thing gonna be the new feature of the next expansion. The stuff that was datamined for 2.2 ptr.
Ptr and beta use the same servers. Ptr players played RoS pre patch on the same server as RoS beta players.
Nothing has been said about it. And it looked to be a rather big feature. So its coming next expansion.
The cursed realms don't seem big enough to be called a game mode, it's more like a feature and not an entire game mode, similar to how greater rifts is a feature and adventure mode is a different way to play, and since cursed realms won't even let u use your gear and spec (datamined info) they're not a new gamemode for sure imo.

So quit?
From what I hear we are getting 3 new classes, one of each main attribute, as well as 1 act with multiple avenues that make it feel like 2-3 acts in itself. We are getting reworked and new items, as well as 10 more levels, and possible a revamped paragon system.
That is just the surface, the Dev crew is working on so much more, and hoping for a release come end of this year or early next year.
I am sure Blizz already returned money spent on D3 development and maintenance. So:
1) Make D3 Free To Play
2) Implement microtransactions (storage, cosmetics) but nothing related to receiving advantage.
3) Issue microtrasaction points/goodies to those who have purchased D3 already.
Blizz/D3 - constant money income = profit. D3 players - constant goodies and improvements in game.
Look at other games, FTP + Crowd Funding is the way to go.
To be honest i am really amused why Blizz and/or D3 dev team are so blind and still did not do that.
Quite simply they do not want to be like everyone else, because they are the king, why stoop to the lower standards of other companies when you are the market setter?

Why would you say that? That's an interesting way of saying D3 has been out for 3 years, not to mention it just received a decent patch. Any news on D3 will come at Blizzcon, which I hope includes one more xpac.

Despite what others say, I seriously think Diablo would be in a better place if it is a full fledged MMORPG...

Had no idea D3 had a sub :/
Probably had no idea you purchased the game either :/
Look up f2p games, it has nothing to do with subscriptions.
So quit?

F2P and subs are not related in his context. As of right now D3 is B2P(Buy to Play) not a free play instant download off a website.
