There's no point in clearing the regular Rift after killing the Rift Guardian is there? Instead of clearing it, wouldn't you be better off just starting a new one?
you paid the same price as they did to go inside the rift... so you have as much right to close it as they have to want it keep it open.. which is zero since it only takes one person to close it.
It's like ShadyW said about keys. If you don't have many (and don't like farming them like a lot of players, myself included), you might want to get the most out of your keys which means fully clearing them. You do get the rift double legendary chance throughout.
But, if you have a lot of keys, why clear when killing the guardian and closing is a far, far quicker way of getting blood shards.
[-------] [-------] [-------] Rift, closed after RG
[--------------------------] Rift, completed
Hmmm looks like the same chance of legendaries with the added bonus of more shards... The only time full clears made sense were MAYBE when there was double goblins or you have no shards..somehow.
I prefer to do full clears because i don't need trial keys and i usually don't have a million t6 rift keys. Also, i find full clears to be a lot more profitable in terms of legendaries per hour even though i'm usually very lucky with kadala... But one blood thief can pretty much count for like 4 rifts that you close so not exploring the rift can be a waste imo...
I usually continuing a rift after kill if its a "Good" one. Easy mobs, many mobs and whatnot. Or atleast to the lvl it getting bad mob, like angels and such.
You can never predict what might be in the rest of the rift. Nothing saying you have to engage any elite packs/do a full clear if you don't want to but it pays to scope things out before you exit the rift imho. You could be the lucky a** that gets the double stack conduit/power and an all goblin rift (chances are slim, but, hey RNG).
One malevolent tormentor alone can drop 3+ legs, and the occasional blood thief is a nice bonus. its never a bad idea to take an extra 5 minutes and breeze through the rest of the rift.
I have the feeling that i find more legs after the RG then before the RG, Ofcource its nonsence.. but it feels that way. And i like to max out the Exp i get per Keystone, That is why i run the entire rift. Bloodschards arev very nice bur clearing the entire rift take me 5 minutes extra so ill take that.
Even so i have never got a group of Goblins before the guardian so ill keep full clearing those littel buggers.
I do this even for Grifts, In the new season when i get a lvl25 keystone i let a friend with a lvl 1 keystone open so we can do a new grift even when i pay with my lvl 25 stone to keep getting bloodshard and legs without paying keystones.
There are only 3 (objective) reasons to full clear a rift:
1. You have a lack of keystones and want to maximize the Rifttime per Keystone
2. It's a really good density rift
3. You/your group is so fast in clearing a rift that the 30 seconds between 2 rifts would grant you on average 0.4 legendaries (100 bloodshards), if you killed mobs during that time.
There's still the option to close the rift and go back in to continue your killing till time runs out though.
So basicly the only REAL reason to ALWAYS fullclear a rift is a lack of keystones. This means if you already got your perfect ancient RoRG, you can always fullclear. If you don't, you need to run bounties anyway and therefore shouldn't have a lack of keystones.
Ofc there's always personal preference, but I was only talking about the objective point of view.
It is preference and I normally just go with the flow in pubs. I personally would rather full clear since I hate bounties and farming keys but do whatever is placed before me.
The only problem I have is those that think they are being smooth and teleporting in to town and closing, then teleporting back asap to pretend they didnt do it. Lol! If you like the group and want to stick around then do what the group wants. If someone closes and everyone else likes full clears, stealth doesnt work and you will prolly get kicked. But, if I am too worried about doing full clears I will run with my clan. Pubs are hit and miss.
always close after rg. like someone said above, the only reasons to fc are shortage of keystones and too efficient to the point that 30 seconds downtime ruins your exp/hr or legs/hr.
no there doesnt have to be a vote. if you want to fc then go to the communities and set up a fc group.
shards are better than random mobs.
and no to the person who said the thing about more legs if you fc. legs per unit time is the same (or more because of kadala) from closing. legs per RIFT is obviously more if you full clear, but that is a piss poor measurement.
If you want fast legs you do 34ish grifts, takes 5mins, drops like 4 legs and a ton of xp. Unless your really bad and cant solo t6 bounties there is no reason to finish a normal rift.
Alot of people also farm bloodshards for their other chars.

~ public game
kill stuff
kill rg
collect $200
close the rift
leave

And may the odds be ever in your favour.

Which one has a greater chance for legendaries?
You do one for blood shards, you do the other for drops.

It's a matter of preference.

the chance of legendary is the same, in the first case you get more bloodshards but use more keys

Pros of doing whole rifts: less downtime between rifts, less keys used.
Cons: less blood shards per hour.
And that's basically all. No ' 21% higher chance of legendary axe if i kill the guardian near the shield shrine surrounded by exactly 12 monsters'.
I usually continuing a rift after kill if its a "Good" one. Easy mobs, many mobs and whatnot. Or atleast to the lvl it getting bad mob, like angels and such.
Only reason to do full clears was back in the day when a rift cost 5 shards to open.
Now its rather stupid. You get overall less crap because you get less bloodshards.
You get the same kills per hour and more bloodshards per hour. Meaning. More loot than full clears
Drops are determined on the kill, not when the mob spawns. So its not like you leave a mob with a legendary in the rift
The blood thief or goblin pack you might find after the rift guardian. Well. You are just as likely to find that before the next guardian.
So there is no reason what so ever to do a full clear.
However. That doesnt mean you shouldnt finish the level you are on if there is a shit tonne of elites up in your face

There is no point to full clear a T6 Rift if you don't want to farm bounty.
You will get MORE leg drop chance with your bloodshard on kalada. period.
You DONT have more leg drop chance after the Rift Boss. period.
With a fresh start you need to kadala asap so get your specific Leg/set item. to complete your first build (like m6)
End of the story.
Dude, fell out of bed this morning ? Jesus grumpy XD
It still seems to me, that some rifts grant you way more legs than others. (rifts or group members)
When I get such a rift where legs continuously drop for me, I naturally like to complete it.
But with a group I'd respect whatever reason people may have for wanting what they do.
People play games to have fun, not everyone thinks squeezing in as many runs in an hour as possible is the most fun way to play.
It is preference and I normally just go with the flow in pubs. I personally would rather full clear since I hate bounties and farming keys but do whatever is placed before me.

Would be nice if all who payed the rift key got a confirmation whether or not to close rift.
There is no good reason why 1 of the group should be able to close rift and leave, if rest wants to continue.
It's just as fun as people leaving a raid, waiting for teleport timer and pull boss in wow terms.
