I seriously doubt you can. But im asking anyways. Paranoid to the max
Im using sweeping wind to keep my Taeguk stacks up. At first i was spamming the button nonstop. Gave me cramps. Then i noticed that i could just hold the button in and click move with the mouse to keep it stacking up.
Now i learned the numpad trick.
Bind the button you want to numpad 1-9. I chose 1. Then press and hold 1 and press numlock. And now you trick the keyboard to think you are still holding the button in even tho you release itø. Ergo. You now stack the taeguk and do not have to worry about it ever again.
You are not using any 3rd party programs so this cant be banable can it ?
It's a simple numpad press. It's not just for SW, you can use this to spam any ability for any class, even those on cooldown (like War Cry on Barbs for example). Also, keep in mind that you can't have more than 6% RCR with Inna's to use the SW 'trick'. So, you end up giving up any sort of RCR on your gear.
its definitely bannable. macros are bannable and they are inputs in the keyboard. ANYTHING that lets you play differently than how blizzard wants you to play is bannable. would they ACTUALLY ban you for it though? probably not. technically multiboxing should be bannable, but blizz went on record to say theyll allow it (probably because it means selling more copies of diablo 3 and having more people online)

Blizzard's stance on macro's in all their games is "1 button press must = 1 action" no matter how many game clients are getting that action. Basically what it means is that you can't push 1 button and then have the macro do multiple things or do something based on time. It's somewhat impossible for them to enforce though so people generally do whatever they want in macro's.
However, the numpad trick isn't even a macro. You are pushing the button and then using a trick to make the game believe that you are holding the button down when you have actually released it. I've never seen any message from Blizzard about whether this sort of behavior is acceptable for a macro (afaict it still falls under 1 button = 1 action) but seeing as how it is not even a macro and they pretty much ignore every form of cheating that people do in d3, if they ever decide that they don't like it then they will likely patch it and take no action against anybody.

i agree with you but it doesnt change the fact that numpad trick is bannable. can they catch you? prob not. would they care? prob not. do they have the right to ban you under their terms of service? yes they do.
What do you guys think about using a keyboard macro which is just holding down the button without releasing it?
From my understanding this would still be 1 button press = 1 action, since you press the macro button (1 button press) and it presses the key (1 action) but doesn't release it.
Would have the advantage to be able to start and stop the perma button pressing without the need to press numpad activate/deactivate all the time (need to deactivate to use Town portal)
To put things into perspective, players have been using bots and ram readers (like t-hud) for well over a year now with no repercussions. You really think a normal keyboard function is going to be something on blizzard's to-do list? It's not like it breaks anything anyway. (I don't use it, because I want more than 6% RCR on my Monk).
It's literally a function of the keyboard. It's not a third party program (like a macro). Therefore it's very unlikely to be bannable. It's something that is available on pretty much all keyboards. That'd be like banning people for using mice with the numpad on them, since it can be easier to to things with that configuration. Blizzard bans people for using third party software, i.e. whatever macro program you might be using or a bot. The "trick" for SW is not a third party program.

How do you deal with the Taeguk gem then ? If you are using it that is

Yup, just do what you should in the first place: manually cast every 3 seconds. Ideally Taeguk is meant for 'constant spender' builds like WW, Strafe, Tempest Rush, etc.
1) If bliz dislikes the use of innas and SW to proc taeguk, they could just make the innas bonus remove the spirit cost completely. 5 spirit is basically negligible anyway.
2) They cannot prove that a player is not just holding down a key to keep SW casting. It requires no other program to do, and the "trick" is basically to lock a numpad key to simulate holding it down.
Thus, even if they were looking for something to ban, it'd be a rather large stretch to ban people for this. The onus is on them to remove the synergy with Inna's and Taeguk if they consider it an exploit.
If this is banable then I should have ben bad because Im using logitech key board for more thatn 10 years with all the G key Button for multiple auto attack macros ect ect ect and Im still up playing
so NO ban dude go buy a G series from logotech or corsair ..
It's definitely bannable in theory, because Blizzard has reserved the right to ban anyone for any reason they see fit.
They won't do it in practice, because it'd be terrible publicity... and the numlock trick is a workaround for a pretty terrible game mechanic (mashing buttons to keep a buff active).
The code-fix would be fairly simple, though. I expect it to be hotfixed from out of nowhere any time soon, and I'd like Blizzard to extend the buff duration a little to make the damn gem less onerous to use.

If you get more it costs 0 and won't stack Taeguk.
So it will give you stacks only have 6.60% and don't put more in Paragon Points.
