I got a bunch of gear on my monk that he "outgrew" so I gave several hand-me-downs to my DH (ergo, the awful ammy, rare shoulders and pants, etc). I looked around the forums and it seems like the fire/cluster arrow build is very popular, I gave it a shot and it's pretty nice, I like it!
Here's the problem I'm running into though, I'm sure some DH's relate (and blizz attempted to address this):
Holy Squishy Batman!!!
Even running perfectionist + awareness my toughness is a paltry 2.5 mil, and although my damage is 600k+ with more than 50% crit, it doesn't feel like it. I could BARELY solo T1, I have no idea how the hell I'm going to take this guy to T3 and above.
So I was wondering what I can do to significantly improve either my damage or my survivability (or both, ideally -- outside of cindercoat because I've burned over 1.5k shards on that between my monk and DH, no luck). Would crafting ashera's boots and pants and the 100 all res help or is that wasted?
And also, where do I want this guy gear wise in the end game? Is there an alternative chest besides cindercoat? If some of you running a similar build post your profile so I can see, that would help a lot!
you also have to craft Reapers Wraps (with fire, dex, vita, crit), Another Quiver with Vita, Dex, CC, Cluster Arrow, RCR could help. You can reroll Movement Speed on your boots for Cluster Arrow Damage. Is your Nats Slayer already rerolled? Otherwise get more dmg on that thing! And also i would put Cull the weak @ your passives instead of Nightstalker.
Gamble for Cindercoat with your Monk. Worst case you get a Cindercoat with 1-2 socks AND a Monk skill, but since your DH would get many Cloaks instead of regular chest armor, I advise the Monk.
Getting 3pc Aug and Reaper's Wraps would be a great start. Cluster DH with Reaper's is very reasonable without cindercoat.
I spent about 15k blood shards before I got my cindercoat (right after which a RG dropped a better cindercoat <_<) and then in 3k I got two Marauder's pieces (MF'd helm earlier) and Cloak of Garwulf so I go pet build now and don't even use cindercoat anymore lool.
Regarding skills: Archery and Cull of the Weak are great. Also, if you're after a bit more toughness ditch wolfie and get piggie.
Regarding end game gear: I've run Cluster since RoS launch (in vanilla I was Strafe) but a couple of days ago I started running 4pc Marauder's and Garwulf. T5 is very comfortable but the big boys run 6pc Marauder's and that would be your end game gear (currently).
3pc Aug, 3pc Nat's and Reaper's Wraps for the time being. Don't get overzealous about cindercoat because you'll most probably throw it out sooner rather than later. It's by no means overrated but you generally won't be part of your end game gear.
4pc Marauder's set + SoJ. You can use your cindercoat in this sutuation if you don't want three wolfies but I've found that Garwulf's provides a more relaxing and safe playing experience.
6pc Marauder's but I have no experience with this so can't say much.

Also at low toughness smokescreen with healing vapors if more or lessmandatory.
As for a cindercoat its the only chest for a cluster build the cost reduction is too good to lose.
Idon'thave the best gear butI'ma bit further along. t3 is no problem.
