hello and welcome to rii's Crit Rattle & Roll RoS 70 DH build! i've been really excited about the versatility of the DH class so i've been messing around with a variety of different builds -- this one I found to be really enjoyable.
What Is It?
by all means this is not the most efficient/maxed out DPS build; however, what it does offer is a fun, fast paced, mobile & balanced build that does a moderate to high amount of damage with flexibility in talents. it revolves around trading off hatred for discipline, blowing your disc for aoe damage/defense - and then cycle continues.
Items/Stats That Help
-(2) 1H Crossbows:at the moment I have Danetta's Revenge in my main hand which also gives Vault the Rattling Roll effect (knocks enemies back and stuns for 1.5s). it seems that fast attack speed weapons work best with this build.
- Strongarm Bracers: Enemies hit by knockbacks suffer 20% more damage for 5 seconds.
- Physical Skills +% DMG
- + Max Disc [not too necessary, we regen a lot but having a higher starting pool is nice]
- 25% base movement speed. spend some paragon points if you didn't reach it via gear.
The Build Primary Skill: Entangling Shot [Justice is Served] needs to be a high hatred generator so we can burn multishot a lot.. so for this particular build I choose to go with entangling shot because i'll be synergizing it with my passive [Cull the Weak] which provides a 20% bonus against slowed enemies.
Secondary Skill: Multishot [Suppression Fire] your primary hatred resource spender. has decent AoE damage and will regenerate your disc super fast especially in large packs - caps at 6 disc per shot, boo.
Talent #1: Vault [Action Shot] we're going to be spamming vault A LOT, and moving around fast.. might as well take advantage of the damage rune, which are guaranteed critical hits! we don't need tumble because we have enough disc regen.
Talent #2: Vengeance [Seethe] because it's awesome, and when we have more hatred we can spam multishot more, and gain more disc, and vault all over the world. you can swap this for something else if you'd like, like rain of vengeance. there's also the option of using chakram shuriken cloud - if you wanna be all up in them demon grillz yo.
Talent #3: Smoke Screen [Healing Vapors] because you'll have a lot of disc and sometimes when you vault into enemies you're going to be taking damage, may want to get your ass out of there and heal. very spammable makes it an overall strong build where you're not too glass cannon-y. i tried doing choking gas at first but the AoE is way too small.
Talent #4: Companion [Wolf] also does physical damage, and gives you a 30% increased damage boost. ye.
Passive #1: Sharpshooter winds up beingstronger than archery, you'll crit more with this.
Passive #2: Cull the Weak we'll be slowing enemies with entangling shot so might as well take advantage of a +20% damage modifier.
Passive #3: Tactical Advantage the build revolves around vault with action shot so why not take advantage of the 60% movement speed buff? picture getting a conduit pylon and let the fun begin!
Passive #4: Your Choice! [Perfectionist / Awareness / Ambush / Blood Vengeance / Ballistics] there are a lot of different ones that you can use depending on your gear and situation. Perfectionist, Awareness, Ambush, Blood Vengeance or Ballistics are all great choices. it all depends on what would benefit your character the most. Night Stalker seems to generate too much disc that I can't even spend fast enough so I stopped using it. Archery + Sharpshooter just seems overkill, not worth it. I'm still trying to figure out what would be my ideal passive, I keep swapping through them all.
Afterword hopefully this build brings you a bundle of joy leaping all over the map. the toughest part of the build is learning how not to be too #YOLOSWAGHAM with vault as you jump into moltens, orbs and exploding corpses *like i do
i think there's plenty of room to experiment and build off the whole hatred for disc resource mechanic. let me know if you find something that works better! like i said in the beginning, this is just an alternate playstyle for DH instead of going the whole rocket/cluster arrow route! enjoy =)
The problem is that Sharpshooter was designed for when gear drops weren't Smartloot, and you needed to make up for a lack of crit. Nowadays getting crit on every piece of gear where it's available isn't too difficult, so we crit pretty often. May want to consider switching that out
