Hi guys, I'm new here but i've seen it's a good place to seek and give help, so I brought a kinda weird build for Demon Hunters which I found very usefull for solo and group on torment 3-4(with my current equips).
The main points of using this build are basically:
1-Getting all-resist, armor and mainly health increase. 2-Don't leave damage behind, but focus on continuous damage instead of burst. 3-Stay close to enemies, and focus fire on groups of them.
The choice of passives and stats:
1-Using Brooding combined with high HP (Perfectionist helps) gives lot's of regeneration while standing for only a few seconds, and standing is all you gonna need to do when tanking hordes of enemies. 2-Why not Cluster Arrow with Maelstrom? Because it consumes hatred so fast it's healing rune is useless, so I use Elemental Arrow's Nether Tentacles as it has low hatred cost and for each enemy hit you heal 0,4% of your huge health. With Blood of Vengeance passive and lots of enemies, the heal makes you invincible, kinda. 3-Shadow Power is easy, using the 15% reducion damage will help even if you are unable to hit and heal, like when Frozen, etc. 4-What the hell with that rune for Vengeance? Dark Heart is the most damage dealing rune the skill has, but the problem is you gotta be close combat. Guess what? This is a close combat build, so it will deal huge AOE damage and also increase your healing per hit. 5-Wolf? If you are trying to be a tank use Boar! Nope, I'm trying to tank, not to be a tank, so I endure damage and DEAL damage too, so wolf's 30% damage boost helps a lot. Plus the 3 wolf effect on the Garwulf cloak is so much fun. But of course you can use Boar for increased survival. 6-Oh I get why you're using Evasive Fire with Hardened then, you get that 25% armor boost and still hits 3 enemies... nice, with upcoming buffs this will be even greater! Correct.
Overall I see this build working for me as I get up to 16milion Toughness(up to 820k hp) when hitting with Evasive Fire, and still manage to deal some 5-20milion damage per second. Its a good build to try if anyone is tired of dying as a DH, or just for the feeling of being tough.
Give me some feedback on this one and I hope someone likes it when trying out!
seems pretty close to the 'druid' build - a bombardier's rucksack + custom engineering would mean sitting there with three wolves and five sentries, where depending on the rune you could get healing there as well, although i'm not so sure the healing runes on sentries stack, would have to try that out
It's funny that you have 16 mil toughness, when smoke screen breaks all cc, drops aggro, acts as an invinc, can heal for 15% health AND give a speed boost with correct runes/passives.
Ohhh did I just nullify the strengths of your build with a single skill? Yeahhh, that's kinda why we use that. Plus your damage is god awful since you obviously insist on having DEX/VIT/2 secondaries instead of DEX/3 secondaries.

Okay, if you have 50 dicipline, Perfectionist passive and likes using Preparation's Back Up plan to ocasionally when some elite gets close enough to hit, you just Smoke Screen off I don't see how "tank" you think you are. The points of this build are staying melee range with packs of elites for lots of time and survive with no much effort. The damage is "god awful" and still has over 50% crit and 400% damage... the only difference from your supposed "equal but better" choice of skills is the duration of invincibility that happens to be 50x times longer.
Also, don't be such an bad person on comments... I didn't come here to offend anybody, so don't offent people saying they suck and don't know stuff. You probably just never solo anyways. But thanks for the "feedback".
my suggestion is that u also increase life per hit and try using chakram with razor disc rune.. the chakram spiral from the target point so u can cover are around u when u are tanking but the drawback is it doesnt have the healing as nether tentacle but if ur life per hit is quite high it could work since it pierce everthing except wallers
