Seriously, on Act 3 Inferno right now, and it literally is EVERY SINGLE PACK, has Damage Reflect on them. Seriously Blizzard, you have a class that relies on damage to win, and you are going to make it that I let go 3 nether tentacles, and I'm dead.
Yes, I know to spam SS, but that only helps so much.
There's a reason Gloom DH's are more successful. Because it works.
There's nothing that makes Gloom better than using SS properly. 'Gloom DH's' aren't more successful. Different strokes, different folks. You also need a health pool for Gloom to work, which most DH's don't have.
Ooooo, there's a winner. Invulnerable Minions, Reflects Damage, Teleporter, Molten, Fast............. seriously...... FUCK YOU BLIZZARD.
There needs to be certain combinations that are 100% impossible to get together.
I like Horde Mortars and Fast. Nothing like seeing one mortar and knowing over 30 more are coming right behind it.
As for sircuddles yes, you do need the vitality and resists to support it somewhat but that doesn't make it any less more successful. SS DH's are just more abundant and easier to play.

Had to kite his minions all the way to the entrance, ditch them, and then go back and kite him around using SS. So f'n annoying. I hope 1.0.3 fixes some of these issues, though it really only talked about gear transition, and the drop rates.
I keep wondering why they chose to have damage reflection as an elite monster skill in D3. They removed enemies' ability to cast Iron Maiden in D2 because it was really unfair for certain classes and pretty much just annoying all around. I would've thought they'd learn from previous mistakes.

Now it hurts all classes, just range are forced to play like glass cannons so it butt hurts more. It's still not a proper comparison, iron maiden was a guaranteed one shot, reflect damage isn't.

Playing Diablo since 97. I know nothing and having nothing good to say, I be a troll.

I didn't say it wasn't successful. You said it's 'better' than SS. It's not. Both are valid strategies, one isn't better than the other.
I said it's more successful. For most players, SS is better because it's easier to use and support.

It's not Blizzard's fault you're playing the game wrong : )
Yeah, I will easily 1 shot myself with a Nether Tentacle.
Haha, how can you possible be whining over this?
"Buhu, noone can play DH anymore because you can't stack 200k dmg and not care about armor, resistances nor armor. What is this? :'("
Demon Hunters are the most broken class atm and they need nerf. There should be no class where it's a viable strategy to stack 1 stat.
Depending on other elite affixes, reflect damage is no problem (ie, fast affix just suck in general, but if you can kite it, you can kill it). I run with two bows, one with LOH+socket w/ LOH gem. My bow is actually about 15k less dps but its worthwhile. I have a 1250 dps xbow, and the bow is like 850 dps. It was a random rare I found, so i didn't go out and buy it. It serves its purpose. it has +878 LOH and another +190 from the gem.
I only have 288 passive life regen from a set of bracers I have.
My tip is as follow: Get a few shot off with hungering arrow, than spam 3-4x nether tentacle and pop smoke screen just before they land. Repeat and rinse. Use potion as required. But basically you just heal yourself up with nether tentacle, or wait on your regen.
TLDR: 1. GET LOH WEAPON W/ LOH GEM. 2. GET LOH ON ARMOR. 3. GET LIFE REGEN.

2-3 NT + SS + 2 Impale = dead Reflect packs.

Yes... and I'm saying it's not 'more successful'. There's nothing harder about pressing Gloom over pressing SS.
