Pretty Much I multishot and bola large amount of mobs to keep my Discipline High. At which point I can instantly spend discipline to refill my hatred (Runed Preparation) and repeat. I’m hoping to have enough discipline to keep up Shadow Power 100% of the time which will give me a constant 50% increased attack speed and 45% damage life leech.
For single mobs I will Impale (knockback and stun) /Bola Shot.
An occasional vault to stay clear of everything and that’s my build.
Passives
Brooding (2% life regen)
Sharpshooter (increasing 3% crit chance every 1 second)
Perfectionist (20% decreased discipline costs)
This build is 100% dependant on these runes so I am working on a more straightforward build that will be viable without any run

I worked on a build with a very similar concept. I think it's got a ton of potential. A few comments:
-Both Bola and Multi: Bola gives a 30% chance to return 8 disc which is average of 2.4 for 20 hatred. Multishot is a guaranteed 1disc/target hit up to 9 for 30 hatred, so every time you hit more than 3 targets your return is greater per hatred on average than bola shot. But more importantly, why both?
-Where's the damage: I like that you worked in some stuns, but there's no real big damage dealing ability in the build, either AoE or single target. Multi is 110%, Bola 120%, Impale 220%..You might be able to get away with these baseline damages since you have shadow power up, but the potential is so much bigger.
-Passives: Not a fan of brooding, it might keep your down time lower I just don't see it. Sharp shooter is cool, but you have no crit dependent skills, just boring old archery will probably give you more total damage output.
Main differences: My build has more damage built in through rocket skills, yours has more stuns. I also think smoke screen is being slightly undervalued because it's not as flashy as vault. Either way, I think some mix and match between the two builds could prove interesting.

The whole rationale behind bola was to be able to regen dicipline on an elite or single mob. Are you going to try and multishot to generate dicipline on a single target / long encounter? For single target it seems bola would be a more effective option. Or would it be a better method to pick up the hatred regen passive and just continue to use the knockback of impale mixed with normal shots as filler?
I feel that a successfull DH build is going to one with minimal amounts of offensive moves. I can't see a viable DH build using 2 traps and 4 bow attacks for example...

Your build has flexibility to handle multiple types of encounters, but it kills slowly in all encounters. I definitely see the weakness in my build for single targets, it is much more of a farming build. I think with a tweak it could be viable for single targets though. Maybe what this build needs is a planned skill swap, bola for single target, multi for farming?

Agreed. I'm thinking Strafe may be better than imaple. If it locks on to a single target (if only one exists) or multi targets for large mobs it has more flexibility.
Keep in mind, without runes, our builds dont work! Getting that first crimson for prep is going to be huge.

I'm thinking runes won't be super rare, however you may not be able to count on having the top level for each of your skills for awhile.
