Simple poll out of curiosity to see what you all choose to stack for resists, more so with people who use the One With Everything Passive.
Hopefully we all picked something pretty different, so we aren't all competing against each other for gear =)
Curious to see how it goes down.
I picked Arcane because I hate Arcane Beams, and even though it evens all my resistances out, I wanted those Beams to know I was specifically trying to resist them and everything else was a side effect. Take that, Arcane Enchanted Twirly Death Stick!
Grouping 2 resists is awkward for a poll, going to produce inaccurate results.
There is no Holy resist.
Any where the game says Holy damage, it checks against Arcane. So he was very correct in listing them as well, but it is true that we are not used to seeing Holy at all as a resist we can gain.

Yeah I just removed it, so there is less confusion.
Excellent! Thanks. Didnt know about the holy thing....so that's good info. Again, great idea for the poll. Hopefully, it garners good (and honest) response. I'm currently fire + all on my lvl 54 set and been debating switching to a cheaper alternative for my lvl 60 set. Just gonna be an awkward transition to piecemeal. Finding fire seems to be crazy expensive.
Have to think not like a barbarian. (Obviously this only applies to gear that has both STR and Dex, making it attractive to both)
In that, if you were a barbarian, and did not have one with everything, what would you prioritize? Physical is obvious, so avoid that. Cold is pretty rare, and the slow/stun is more dangerous than the damage, so barbs may not be as concerned there. Poison = plagued pools, electric = electric enchanted mobs, fire = molten, fire chains, desecrate, arcane = arcane enchanted. Ahh... fire, 3 horrid affixes resisted.
So yes, fire is expensive on anything that can also be equipped by a barbarian =/

yeah, i just happened to have more fire when i hit the 50's and started looking to up my resists with OWE. however....been looking at prices for lightning gear to switch to. i can't really think of anything lightning enchanted that strikes fear into my heart (or that of a barb). bidding against them for the other stuff sucks. poison, cold, fire, arcane, physical will all be popular for barbs i assumed.
I went with fire resists because that's what I had the most of when I started buying cheap gear for levels 57-60. Now that I've acquired some decent gear, I'm wondering if I should switch over to a different resist type because it's extremely hard to find cheap upgrades in the AH. :/
I stack Lightning. I had the most of that on my higher level gear at the time I decided to start playing with OwE. But I also agreed to stick with it because it seemed like the least in demand resist for other classes because there's nothing too huge in the game that does lightning, and I can only think of one affix on packs (Electrified) that's relevant. And Electrified isn't really all that threatening, unlike D2 - for different reasons though
Regardless, I wanted to avoid fire at all costs because that's probably the most sought after resist as it works against a lot of affixes and they all suck. I kind of thought the same would be true for arcane too but fire was definitely the biggie to avoid.
I can see cold resist being a good candidate.
Started out Arcane but I got two huge upgrades that both had Physical so now's it's Physical. Problem is, I'll need to figure out a replacement for my head slot since that's still Arcane.

1) spell "lightning" correctly
2) spell "poison" correctly
3) list arcane separately. can you even get holy resist? i don't recall seeing that.
I'll edit it to spell it right >_< and as for arcane and holy they are the same resist stat.

You got me. It works well though, haha.

So far I have easily been able to find 'ceaply' prices poison res monk gear with other desirable stats.
