I know. I just don't want this thread turning into a thread where people bitch about everyone else and then it getting closed. I really love learning about different views on religion.

Well, i was born a Christian but my parents raised me to respect and learn everything that i can about other beliefes. therefore, i consider myself as an "indipendent" meaning that i dont follow a specific type of religion. The fact that we celebrate christmass and easter with the family does not mean that we are bound to be christians for life. I mean, how could we choose our religion? We get born as something does that mean we are doomed? No.
2. Atheist, monotheis, polytheist or other spiritual existance (explain your idea of deities):
N/A, see 7.
3. Origin of the Universe, world, and humans:
I believe that there is no origin, however, i believe that things like the big bang are very likely to be true. Billions of years ago, there was a meteor shower on earth that lasted for a long while, the meteors brought don with them a material we call a "Star dust" which is belived to consist of living organisms that somehow shaped the evolution proccess on this planet. If the Dinosaurs would not get extinct, we as mamals would not exist or at least not rule the world. So a series of events lead to us, the humans. I dont exclude a possibility of outer interfernece such as Aliens "planting" us on this planet.
4. Morals and ethics (which ones do you apply to your life, where do they come from, and why do we follow them):
My morals and ethics come from the society i live in. I believe that respecting all the creatures in the universe should be something that everyone goes by. For an example, if i see a bug in the wild i dont crush it, i let it go... But if its in my bedroom then i have to kill it. Or just throw it our the window / door.
5. After-life (what happens after this life):
I believe that everything is possible. I think that whatever you choose during your life, will be your reality after you die. We know that the soul has a weight, and some conspiracy theories that were uncovered by whistle blowers say that we can already clone people and transfer a soul from one person's body to another. I believe in a dimension where you will proabbly live but wont be able to communicate with our current world. I dont like the idea of black and white heaven and hell. If you are not "X" you go to hell. Thats totally false.
6. Why do you hold these ideals (What made you believe these ideas):
I dont hold these ideals. These are the things that i consider to be most logical at the moment. I read books and i discuss with other people who read books also. I think that in a few years my beliefes will be totally different.
7. I would like to quote myself from the "God" thread. I just think its a cool thing that i wrote and i couldnt be bothered to re-phrase it. Se here it is:
God is everything. You in your mind can be god. We, as humanity can be god. We can create things by simply thinking about them. If people would know how to use their body's frequency and energy, all these things could be somewhat clearer to us. Secrets have been kept hidden from the commoners for centuries and even today. We do not know what our brain is capable of. We are born with "powers" that we lose bcause no one taught us how to use them. An example of this would be a baby that cries when a murderer enters the room, its this thing we call the 6th sense and its in everybody's mind. Our DNA is shaped and formed every second and we are a result of mistakes that our ancestors did, all the people who jumped down a cliff died, and this got written in our DNA, its as simple as that. Today, studies show that we can change our own DNA just by a thought whch makes us again, gods. "God" is the nature, its the universe, its you and me.
Where there are people there are war. You are one of those people that hates religion because it "causes wars" huh?
This is an assumption you made on my statement, but I am pretty sure I just meant that where there are religious debates, things tend to get heated. But I don't know, I can be lying to myself
But honestly, you are right. I personally dislike religion and any other part of it. I believe that the fantasy of a supernatural deity slows down technological and scientific progress, which is essential for the survival of the human civilization. But before you go off saying this is a flame against religion, let me tell you that it is not. This is my personal belief on religion, and we are discussing it in a "share your religious beliefs" thread. I am not judgmental on people who are religious, as some of my closest friends are religious. I just do not wish religion to exist in the scientific arena because there are people out there (Kent Hovind) who will stop at nothing to eliminate scientific knowledge in our schools and substitute it with Biblical fantasies.
Raised, Baptized, Confirmed Catholic, but I always believed myself to be a Deist with a hint of Pantheism.
2. Atheist, monotheis, polytheist or other spiritual existence (explain your idea of deities):
I believe I am primarily a Deist. I believe in a Grand Architect of the Universe (or God) but I do not believe that the Supreme Being brought holy books/scriptures/passages to us, that's the doing of humanity's need or order. I believe that 'God' created the universe (Big Bang if you want) but will not intervene in mortal (humanity) affairs, but at the same time is the reason why things happen (This is where Pantheism comes in, why atoms even want to attract, the purpose of elements, etc.) and also to a slight extent (still affirming this personally) a Grand Plan for all of his/her/its creations.
3. Origin of the Universe, world, and humans:
'God' created the universe but also at the same time controls it, as I said above this is where Pantheism comes in.
4. Morals and ethics (which ones do you apply to your life, where do they come from, and why do we follow them):
I follow society's established basic morality code with my own philosophical twist. i will not kill, steal, etc. But at the same time I heavily emphasize my philosophy on the individual, say like abortion. I do not like it but I will fully support that individual's decision.
5. After-life (what happens after this life):
I'm still debating/affirming this, being so heavily supportive of individualism, it is an empty feeling that this life will be the only one and nothing after and it was pointless. The conflicting aspect is that my belief of 'God' not intervening with mortal affairs. So if I were to finally say 'yes there is an Afterlife' I would have to believe in a understandably 'set' moral code. Not a moral code that 'if you don't believe you you go to Hell' kind of code but like the basics of not killing each other, stealing etc.
6. Why do you hold these ideals (What made you believe these ideas):
What made me into a Deist, is Catholicism/Christianity ironically. After spending my elementary and middle school years being a Catholic I realized that people were against it when I was a freshman in high school. I pondered why and they kept bashing the Bible, and I realized that I barely read the Bible, so I did, and I did not like what I see.
Nothing of it made sense literal or metaphorically. For literal sense, it is impossible for man to be made from a rock or animals packed together in 40 days/40 nights in one ship. For metaphorical sense, there is no metaphor for "beating slaves to unconsciousness is okay".
So I went into deep soul-searching and through my junior year English teacher I found Deism and I liked it. It wasn't bound to holy books or scriptures, nor was it bound to an ultimate fear of 'Hell Eternal'. Deism satisifies the human requirement of spiritualism and at the same time is open to rational thinking of science/math/etc.
And it doesn't hurt knowing the founding fathers of America (George Washington, Alexander Hamilton, Benjamin Franklin, Thomas Jefferson, etc.) and Renaissance celebrities (John Locke, Rousseau, etc.) were Deist. =P
