And that's also why you don't pay a subscription in D3 and it's fine like this.
last few years they probably shouldnt be paying a Sub for WOW either.
Its the same way but down played more in that game due to its numbers than in D3.
Don't compare wow with d3. Its two different systems. Typical on subscription based games, you get help if you mess up, if you get scammed, if you accidently delete a item etc. On a none subscription based game, your on your own if you screw up. If you get scammed in diablo 3, its because your stupid. Being stupid doesnt qualify for blizzard having to help you. In this game your responsible for your own actions. If you decide to pay 50M for a legacy edition of immortal king's chest, then thats on you. Whatever he showed you the real one before or not. Facts are, he had the old chest in he trade window, when you put up 50m and press trade. Not blizzards. its YOUR fault.
You should ignore in the future making videos for the public. If you did a video and posted it private to blizzard scam-mail it wouldve been different.
Your thoughts on others was very nice, but in a world of scammers and such I guess Blizz just want to cover and delete everything that has something to do with exploits. I can see both sides in this and its just a matter of opinion in the end I guess. You did well, but not what Blizz would've wanted you to do when you recorded the video - "showing it in public to help ppl".
I do not know all the rules, but I do know that stuff that are negative in some way, should be brought up directly with the support team.
Thanks for this warning OP. Unfortunately I cant see how a small inexperienced team, of which the D3-team consists of, can handle all the complaints us millions of players have. It be bugs, bots or scams, they cant have the capacity. They have to use their resources in a way that benefit MOST of the players, and not the few. Sadly you are in the last category, so realistically speaking, what you have done here on diablofans is perhaps the best, and only thing to do.
Just have pity with the lowlifes that do petty things safely behind a screen, where they are 100% safe from any repercussions. To find any joy in scamming, their lives are most likely very depressing.
Bliz is a terrible company. They are not looking to please their customers at all. So a few of you complain... you're like 0.001% of their economy. They just don't care.

Its not blizzards fault people are stupid and get scammed. Blame the stupid people who keep scammer in business rather than blaming blizzard.
I personaly prefer seing blizzard spending their D3 ressources on expanding and improving the game. Than i want em to spend their time and energy trying to resort players own mistakes during scams. People get scammed because they are stupid. Its not something blizzard should focus on, let the stupid people learn by their mistakes.

Its more than getting scammed.
people get scammed because the system is so easy to exploit in the first place.

They still get scammed because they are stupid. They press the the accept button themself, before double checking if the its the real item in the trade window. You cannot blame blizzard for peoples incompetence and lack of brain activity.

In a way, but they should just remove Legacy items in the first place.
All that has done is give players the key to pull off these scams or whatever you want to call it.
Still, it doesnt change the simple fact its the players fault. And no blizzard cant just remove legazy gear. Some people still use it. Why punish others.... Let the retards get scammed. They might learn a lession or two in life for the small costs of some digital gold.
1. There is a rule saying that reporting players should be done through official channels and not to call them out by name. The OP broke this rule and was punished.
2. There is a case of alleged scamming. It involved using item swapping of a similarly named item. This is covered by the scam policy.
"A scam is the act of acquiring items or any other possession from another player through misinformation, confusion, or fraud. In short, using any sort of deception to gain at another's expense. If you are unsure if your particular case fits the criteria of a scam, contact a GM in-game and they will be able to assist you."
Given the above, the OP is best served by contacting the in game support tools to attempt an item recovery. While his actions might be altruistically motivated, calling out players by name is a violation. I wish him well in his attempt to recovery from the scam and hope that he retains his desire to help others through this difficult time.
There is a place for calling out alleged scammers and it is not the d3 official forums.
Item and gold trades in Diablo III are handled through a secure trade window. Before a trade is completed, both players will need to click Approve. Because trades require the consent of both players, it is up to those players to make absolutely sure that the trade is correct before clicking the approve button.
Right. Blizzard has introduced the trade window exactly for this reason (prevent scams). You phrase it a bit provocatively, but Blizzard can't prevent (sorry for being so direct) stupidity. You wouldn't take 15k bucks to some dark alley to buy a new char either, wouldn't you?
We had this website pop up several times. There is no means of checking and verifying entries. Someone can just go to this website, put some scam report for your battle tag on there and you have no way to defend yourself.
=> You can probably use another way to contact Blizzard (sending an email, or maybe using the "report player harassment" option or so). Don't know. But unfortunately 99% of all scams are only happening because players are greedy, think they are smarter than everyone else and by getting an item through an in-game trade rather than the AH they can save a lot of money.

No naming & shaming.
You broke it, you get your ban, easy.
There are other ways to contact blizzard over scams. You chose the wrong one and ignored the forum rules. You got what you deserve.
