I think everyone should watch "Pirates of Silicon Valley" and be amazed at his life.
The guy was complicated, but very driven.
He deserves all of our respect.
Honestly, he was one of the few people in this world who really saw things for how they were instead of going the route most people do and seeing them for what they want them to be.
His early years are a true inspiration to anyone who ever had a dream for themselves. He was down and out more than once, but never gave up fighting "the man" and doing things his way instead of how people told him to do them.
It's sad to see such a great innovator pass away. Apple has always been an interesting company and it feels as part of it's soul just went poof. (Unrelated to any of the recent product reveals..) Steve was just such a huge part of the company, as an inventor and a face.

I agree. Sad to see him go. Makes you think about your own mortality when something like this happens ><
I wonder how the software giants will do now as many of the original computer innovators have kind of stepped away (just thinking Bill Gates and Steve Jobs).
I really hate mac products myself, but this is far from the truth.
As do I, and nobody deserves to lose their life. Unfortunately, it happens but everyone is valuable to someone.
That said, he resigned and stepped down as CEO late August, the company will likely do fine.
Agreed. We should also remember that Steve Jobs acquired Pixar in 1986. And regardless of my dislike of apple products, I love Pixar.

My place really was here. I was too foolish and stubborn to notice. But, what I truly hoped for then was here. Why do I always realize it When I've already lost it.
I'm mad at myself that I let this post make me mad. But say what you will about apple, you wouldn't be able to do almost anything electronically related today, including be fanatical about diablo 3, without the contributions Steve Jobs made to the advancement of computers and in turn human society.
Yeah that sounds like I'm giving him too much credit, but I remember my first computer as a 4 year old, and it was a Macintosh, and that was a big deal. And that is still a huge part of my life and I'm sure it means something similar to many others on this board.
That really does suck...Despite my dislike for anything Apple related except actual apples. And even those are a bit overrated.
What troll?

hopefully someone will continue to push the envelope.

I just pushed the envelope.
Back to all Seriousness, Jobs revolutionized the phone, music player, and computer. He made technological advances surpass some of the greatest expectations. We need more people like him to revolutionize the automotive industry, medical industry, and green technologies among other things.

I hope he can finally be at peace.
Also, here's a little reading for those of you that never knew much about Mr. Jobs

*on a different note*
i would like to see how pixar and apple bid without his influence.
