Who else is extremely pumped for clans? They added a ton of clan strings titles, rank, ladder rank, clan bonus. I say about time. I spent most of my D2 days in a wc3 channel with wc3 admin bots. Really held runs together and organised it well.
They also said in the king kongor interview that they would like to do something like the old D2 chat setup with a character at the bottom, can't wait to see how that pans out.
This game will thrive so freaking hard if they make the social aspect and UI well done. ( which it's no where near atm )
... as long as they increase the maximum amount of players that can play together otherwise I don't really care that much about the feature.
Seriously, I kinda understand why they can't make a coop with that, but there's nothing stopping them from putting 2 teams of 4 players against each other competing in similarly randomized Loot Runs and Nephalem Trials (or Exploring/Devil's-Hand/Bounty-mode if these are doable).

Do it, Blizzard!
Ouuu that would be fun and an easy way to add a ladder for certain things.
Wizard team vsMonk team? KingKongor's team vsArchon's team? Blizzard Employees' team vs Famous Streamers' team? Random Group vsRandom Group paired by a matchmaker? Or who met (and challenged) each other in a forum?
All it needs is a simple "counter" and multiple victory conditions imho (% of map explored, % of monsters killed, fastest run, goblins missed, etc.) if those are not already present in LR/NT. Maybe even let matches Draw, so that everyone feels like it was an actual good game.

Again... just do it, Blizzard
Well, there seems to be a quest in Act 5 with a kill counter, where you compete with Imperius for the highest number of slain enemies in the zone. It would be real fun if there is something similar for two groups of players.

Of what use will a clan be when you can have only 4 people playing in a game? Wouldn't it just be a friendslist with a special name?
Maybe the clan system will offer special bonuses or something?
SC2 has clan and you play 1v1-4v4. It's fun to have clan.

SC2 is a different game. There are some games where its 10vs10. How does that help Diablo?
Diablo isn't a clan type of game bottom line. Sure it can have ladders, silly clan chats, and all kinds of other crap, but its still not a clan friendly game. Clans should be able to battle other clans and a 2vs2 isn't very appealing if your clan is 10-20+ members strong. Clan members end up playing in small separate groups and in different channels if a voice program like Teamspeak is used..
Personally I hope they don't have any bonuses or anything like the WOW guild system. Yes you can play multiplayer in D3, but to me, it will always be a single player game; that is the best thing about it IMO, I can play by myself without a bunch of drama or immaturity. Sure, give some bonuses when you are in a group (like they are today) which makes it fun to play with a select few friends but don't make people feel even more penalized when they just want to fly solo.
