Is it just me that I see similarities between the quests of the "challenge" mode and my burning hells portals idea and between this:
LootRunBar - You have started a Loot Run!
Kill enemies to fill this bar. When it is full, a portal will open to the Loot Run guardian.
LootRunBar_title - Loot Run
LootRunBarComplete - You have opened a portal to the Loot Run guardian! Enter the portal and defeat it!
and my idea of the Talisman of Portals?
The names... the rest they stole and gave no credit to ya... i would be asking for god damn MVP stuff like MrMonstrosity and Jeatch got.. think it was a little unfair that they got it and not you - coz your ideas were Awesome and also deserved a community commentry..

I would be satisfied with just the tickets to Blizzcon and everything payed for 1/2 days in America (hotel, flight tickets etc).

Eh, no. That is exactly the problem with these things. Suggestion authors can either give ideas and receive community praise but never get acknowledged as inspiration from developers, or simply never publish anything so that they can't be angry afterwards. We've had dozens of great suggestion threads all around and only one of MrMonstrosity's got published by Blizz only because of the mega hype the players gave it. The hype was justified, but so it was for all other suggestion topics if you ask me.
If you publish these ideas with the thought process that some developer out there is going to ever even hint that you inspired him you're in for a hell of a nightmare. It's insane legal stuff that no one will ever touch. Just be happy that the ideas are being implemented. Your own fans will know you were the inspiration for it. Or don't post at all.
If Blizz decides they can also give a throwback to their community heroes through named items, flavor and other such in-game stuff. But never a direct acknowledgment of anything.

I think this would be more than enough.
But even if they take all the suggestions from a very valuable idea I think it repays the person who wrote it of all the effort he put into it.
That would be just great (and enough). At least for me, also because it's the proof that they really listen to players' feedback.

So true
I, too, completely agree. +1
Also, on a side note, soon as I even get a hint of them using any of my Druid ideas, IT'S SUE TIME SUCKA!
jk Blizz, you can totally just make the druid for the next exp pack, and I'll be happy =)
I posted something a while back about hunting certain monsters to get parts to make a bad ass item, this has basically been recreated in the Devil's Hand objectives. It makes me warm and fuzzy to think I perhaps maybe had a hand in this idea coming to light. Though the real thanks goes to Dragon Quest IX's crafting system, which works much the same way, and is where I got the idea. Though obviously this system has been used in many other games, it's just that DQIX takes it to a new level.
I am not saying it is the best game ever as taste is subjective.
All I am saying is that if you spend enough time on one game then it most likely because you enjoy it. At some point you can subjectively determine if paying the outright dollar cost for a game was 'worth it'... I think Maka would have a hard time saying it wasn't.. even if it didn't deliver all the promises it gave and you call D3 vanilla a 'foundation'
Yes, from a "time spent vs. price paid" perspective, D3 is definitely in my top-10 in time/price ratio. I'm not even disputing that.
But, speaking just from my own personal experience (and therefore not trying to establish some 'grand unified theory'), I know that some of that time was spent not because I was necessarily enjoying myself, but because I was hopeful that I'd eventually have more fun, down the road. A lot of that hope stemmed, of course, from the fact that I'm a D1 and D2 aficionado, so I felt (perhaps in part irrationally so) that I had to give D3 more time.
I just became very disillusioned with the game, and reading that "they released the 'foundation', and now [for a price] they're releasing the ACTUAL game" hits a nerve, I suppose.
Don't even start replying, I know it. Maybe those are not the most important for the playerbase. The itemization, item hunt and end-game are more important than that, because those are the core of the Diablo experience.
I agree with that argument! But frankly, from a developer pov there was only so much they could do on those, considering how much the base systems changed (and don't even bring the "nothing should have changed" theory to table, you know what I think of that).
Well, this might be easy to say in hindsight, but maybe they should've had more people testing the game for longer. Even putting aside the effects the AH had on the game, although they should've anticipated it (but was hard or impossible to test), I have a hard time comprehending how anyone wouldn't find the original itemisation 'bland', to say the least. I really only see two possibilities: insufficient testing, or knowingly leave it as it is (not very good).
But again, as I said above, just struck a nerve, that's all.
EDIT: ah, and one more thing - I just realised I'm stupid. Most needed changes seem to be coming in a patch, and not with Reaper of Souls; if that is indeed the case, disregard the rant, and feel free to call me names. I won't report.
Limited time offer.
Hmm, I think I'll taunt you with 'douchnozzle'!
Either way I just wanted to chime in and say I think out of your two options, the 'insufficient testing' seems most accurate. In their attempt to preserve any storyline, the beta only went to level 13. In-house testing most likely never went over a couple thousand people at most, and I very much doubt they grinded in the end game, resulting in them being hopeful their numbers would work for the millions of players grinding.
Luckily, Loot 2.0 shall RAIN FROM ZA HEAVENS AND FIX EVVRYTHINNNNGGGG
