Wow, haven't been back on PC since getting consol version, playing HC with no lag is fun and I'm dying a lot, let me tell you d3 on console is hard, way harder than PC, I have to use choke points, I have to run away, I am scared to leave town, I buy health potions, I get surrounded, I can't move, I'm dying and I'm only level 4, praise The Lord I'm playing Diablo again, did I mention nephelom globes, less rubbish drops ease of pick up, quick item check for upgrades, look ill be back in PC to just this is so much fun, and I can't help but sit back and watch my friends die while they beg me for help. Amen
These threads aren't antagonizing and insulting to the faithful PC players whom waited years for a sub par experience.
Enjoy the mass duping and cheat codes or whatever.....
I don't mean this as a shot at the OP....but...I kinda assumed Daiblofans would have a separate forum for console to prevent the two DIFFERENT games from getting mixed up.
Perrsonally I've never given a shit about other people cheating. I play my own game my way and to hell with everyone else. The console is awesome for that. No lag. And the loot system is better. Without an open trade system they had to make the loot better. And it is. I found two legendaries in act one normal mode. And another in act two. Three legendaries before level 20. I was giddy as hell. The thrill in diablo for me was always finding my own badass stuff. The AH was never fun only nessecary because of the way loots drops on PC. With console I get to have the excitement of finding awesome shit on my own.
sorry to burst your bubble, but console lacks the movement control that a mouse + keyboard (for those that actually keybind properly) provide. the game is the same, it just seems harder.
hard? LOL the guy who's competing for world first paragon 100 looted 1400 dps EF on inferno act 1 and roflstomped the rest of the content with 150k dps`, no farming required. the game is too easy.
Agreed.
I am glad that the PC is getting a loot overhaul, but I seriously hope they take a hard second look at raising the Legendary drop rates by 6xtimes. MY issue has never really been finding Legendaries.....my issue has been looking back over the last several play-sessions and realizing that I brimed 12 i63 set items because they roll too randomly, with too much of a roll range on key affixes.
I would like to see Leg's drop more often, but I don't want them spoon fed to me with such ease.
...and yes, duping is rampant on console in less than 24 hours.

Who cares about duping and cheatcodes, its not like it can effect you own gaming experience in any way. Not that anyone would need a cheatcode, if you play on easy you cant die.
Of course console players don't care about duping. That ilk is suited for EZ gameplay. A good ARPG is about the community, trading, PvP and pride in your builds/gears. As well, it should be very challenging to acquire great power.
When PvP arenas hit the console, EVERYONE will have perfectly rolled BiS gear in every slot. Enjoy that mind-fucking mess.
If this console version was what we got at the release of the PC version I think a lot of people would be pissed. We'd all be BIS within a month and it'd just be boring. We want a game that is going to take a long time to progress and give years of entertainment, and this isn't it. This console version is meant to just be play for a month and move on to the next flavor of the week, not a long lasting timeless masterpiece that the PC version needs to become. That's fine for the console version, I'm not insulting it, it's fine for what it is; but I hope no one actually thinks this is how the PC version should have been or should be.

Agreed. 100% agreed. D3 in this iteration is simply console fodder, nothing more.

PC gamers keep saying this... lets see in two or three months if people are still playing the console version. For me the console version is very rewarding. Why would i stop playing once i face roll Master V (mp10)? I face rolled the PC versions mp10 and kept playing for months. Farming is farming... Who cares if one version gets up to the face roll point in 100-150 hours and the other in the 500+ hour mark.
Honestly in hindsight i wish the PC version got to that point 2-3 hundred hours sooner.

The last damn thing the PC needs is to be more like the console.
It's a dumbed down spin-off of a PC game that spoon feeds the BiS loot all day, every play session. It has already succumbed to blatant dupes. PvP will be an orgy of duped BiS perfectly rolled gears.

First, D3 is not a PVP game.
Second, Consoles have dupers and save file editors... while PC has credit card warriors. Neither ruin your gameplay if you dont let it.
Third, You do not get BiS fed to you on console... yes the Dps on weapons are high but it is very hard to get perfect items or even decently rolled trifecta...
I honestly thought this site was a Diablo FAN SITE... Its surprising seeing how many of you refuse to even give the console version a chance. True fans of the franchise would at least try it for themselves.

The console version and the PC version have no dynamic or intuitive difference in the way itemization works. It's just you are rewarded with BIS faster, the items are stat sticks still just with bigger numbers, and therefore you achieve end game faster. Once you escalate your experience by achieving end game gear too quickly, you run out of things to do. You aren't going to farm MP10 with BIS gear for very long, when you've ran out of things to farm and you can never find upgrades. It's the same problem the auction house offers in the PC version that makes the item hunt stale. You get good gear too fast and it ruins the experience of a drawn out farming game that offers noticeable progression. The PC version ruins the hunt with the auction house (which luckily you can avoid by not clicking the button if you don't want to) the console version ruins the hunt by making drops too good and plentiful. The positive to this for the console version is that at least the hunt is rewarding, the negative is that it's just too brief to be sustainable long term. But, this is actually okay for a console version because there's nothing wrong with just making it an experience that doesn't last for over a couple hundred hours. But, let the distinction be made that this format does not make for the PC version that is to be considered a masterpiece that offers years of sustainable gameplay that many a Diablo fan had hoped, and still hope, for it to be.

Well I don't think Diablo 3 is designed to be a game you can play for years anyway... at its core its flawed and really limits the player when it comes to replay value.
However one of the major flaws of the PC version is the unrewarding loot gained through gameplay. Console version fixes this but i admit they turned that dial to 9000...
You have to ask yourself though. What would you rather have? Diablo 3 where you farm for thousands of hours and never get anything good through gameplay? Or Diablo 3 console where you farm for 100-200 hours and get all your loot through gameplay?
Ideally i would like D3 to be somewhere in the middle but right now we don't have that option and for me i would rather get rewarded.
I see posts by hardcore D3 players saying console is too casual... but what are those hardcore players doing in D3 on PC? Farming for Xp and Orange light beams that roll brims 99.9% of the time? That wasn't fun for me tbh.
I agree. Somewhere in the middle would be perfect. The console version is what it is, and I have no beef with it, I just don't think it should be copy-pasted onto the PC version as some magic fix. I think it's just meant to be a shorter version of the PC version, and there's nothing wrong with that. In fact, I hope lots of people have fun with it.
What the PC version needs, in my opinion:
* Increased drop rates (but not as high as console)
* Legendaries bind on pick-up
* Legendaries that are intuitive with skill choices and not just stat sticks (Loot 2.0 hopefully)
Playing the game needs to be the most rewarding way to play the game, and with the auction house it just isn't so. That's the one thing the console version got right. But, maybe just trading rares on the AH would be a good solution, and all legendaries have to actually be self acquired.
There also needs to be ways to make different legendary choices viable and not just always picking the one that offers the most DPS. Making the legendaries more intuitive with skills, which I really hope Loot 2.0 will successfully accomplish.
(But most of that is probably for another thread so I will stop there)
The incessant cries since launch from throngs of Diablo players who want their PvP has been quite noticeable. Also, I'm going to take a wild guess and say I was competing in Diablo 2 melee tournaments when you were learning to ride a bike.
Second, Consoles have dupers and save file editors... while PC has credit card warriors. Neither ruin your gameplay if you dont let it.
This comes down to an issue of ease. The console.....too easy to cheat. The PC, yes, it's easy for some to spend tons of cash on gears. But many many players either have no means to buy gears/gold, or they simply aren't old enough to.
The dupe method I showed above for the console appeared in the first 24 hours of D3 consoles release. It is a sign of terrible things to come. The complete and utter loss of the games integrity.
Third, You do not get BiS fed to you on console... yes the Dps on weapons are high but it is very hard to get perfect items or even decently rolled trifecta...
The drop rate appears to be simply too high. Add to that, friends trading duped perfect items back and forth until there are thousands of them on the realms.....the integrity is whack on console.
I honestly thought this site was a Diablo FAN SITE... Its surprising seeing how many of you refuse to even give the console version a chance. True fans of the franchise would at least try it for themselves.
Yes, It's a fan site. That doesn't mean in order to post here you have to attach your lips directly to Blizzards asshole. Many of us are huge fans of Diablo 3, as I am myself. But this shit with the console, it's disgusting and the PC community MUST make sure our voices are heard....we want better loot but we don't want this console nonsense influencing the REAL D3.
Just want to be clear, I never said better, I play d3 almost every night since launch, just an 1hr for myself, and now that its on console it's a refreshing change plus in not bothering the wife so win win, and with being in Australia console has no lag, even better , now it's on my 42" screen even betterer, I can lay on the couch , I'm not worried about spilling crap all over my computer lastly I can throw the controller.
As soon as RoS is out I'm back.
P.s I hope it comes out for console too
