Aw Zero, that sucks... even the improvements in 1.0.8 didn't getcher motor running? I have to agree that lack of PvP is glaring at this point; I don't even play PvP myself, but still missing (most of) that feature over a year after release is pretty absurd.
I've played a bit of 1.0.8. Public games were pretty awesome. And the small tweaks (like ID all) are pretty sweet, but I need a little more than that.
I've been playing some League of Legends yet again. It's actually a pretty awesome game that rewards people who are consistent with skillshots (specially now that they have Brazilian servers, so my ping is 20-50, down from 250-300). Finishing up my Black Ops 2 challenges/diamond-camos. Playing GW2 for daily achievements and slowly learning all its end-game stuff. All that takes a lot of my free time
I do have to say I'm a bit disappointed that the monster density changes didn't take into account how Act 1 enemies are mechanically simple and most of the time very easy to deal with.
Act 2 mobs are annoying as hell. It's easy to avoid charges and poison clouds, but there's no way you can avoid the burst from 8-10 invisible snakes. Spiders can swarm and rape you a lot quicker than Leapers (that's how I feel it at least). Constructs can just shred your health if you're careless. It seems Act 2 and 4 are the most hated (judging from people in public games).
reflecting on the situation with Jay Wilson and the D3 design team its hard to overlook the kind of talent that was lost with the breakup of blizzard north.
I also hope he realises that console gamers are more enclined to switch games when they discover continuous problems and bad customer service, but i guess that' wont bother blizzard after the purchase the game ... right?
There's no RMAH for tinfoils to point to, so why should they be bothered?
Yesterday: console director becomes overall game director.
Today: Diablo® III – Coming September 3 to Xbox 360 & PS3™
Coincidence? What's a coincidence, anyway?
I believe in coincidences...but in this case, I'm gonna have to go and say no, not coincidence.
This doesn't have to be a bad thing. Or does it?
Good or bad is the wrong metrics to be applied here. It's just that some people like consoles and the playstyle that comes with it, and some don't. It's about personal flavor, like vanilla or strawberry. I'm not too keen on strawberry (and consoles).

I've only played Madden on consoles for the last 10 years or so. For the most part, I ignore the genre all together.
It is my hope that the dev team (specifically Josh) are trying to make the console version have as much PC influence as possible, and not the other way around (making the PC version have a console "flavor")
To me, D3 is just fine in this respect, in terms of it's general feel and framework. God damn thing just needs better itemization. The rest of it will come with time/X-pacs, in terms of new content, end game challenges, PvP and skill embellishment.

It's not like the project hasn't been under way for a while now.
September 3 is a very reasonable date for something that has all the assets/mechanics/graphics/systems in place and just has to be translated into another system. I was hoping it would be even released earlier.
Maybe with it I can get some of my friends to play D3 again. We miss the whole "being on the same room laughing together" shit

Yeah, I know, it's not the same, but at least for playing with my friends a co-located setup is impossible for now (unless we hop on a plane every night). And I'm thankful for the options we have nowadays... at the same time, I think split screen gaming will be awesome. Anyone ever played The Settlers II two-player split screen? That was hilarious.
The indication as to how influential Josh will be to the game will be whether or not we see 1.0.9 in the next two months and if that patch is the itemization patch. That way they can announce expansion plans at Blizzcon.
That will show progress and deliver on what they've all been talking about for months now.

My theory is that they have two D3 teams.
1. Small team that works on patches, fixes, etc.
2. Large main team that has been working on expansion and new mechanics.
that is why I think it takes so long to implement patches, aside from testing of course.

That is almost certainly the case. In my opinion, of course.

Come on, it's the Diablo community we're talking about. Everything is bad, even if it's good.
