Shaman is totally the best class so far, alot of survive and cc, cant wait for it to get nerfed
Might not be english, Witchdoctor - shaman would make sense in translation.
Barbarian, no question. Once you reach top end gear you literally devour everything. Couple that with Sprint to speed through the pointless bits and you have an all around wonderful farmer.
Demon Hunter in little gear, though. Glass CAnnon build can be made for ~5-10M(ignoring weapon) and can pull wonderfuly high numbers.
Monk is the only class I've played, but can't imagine any other class being as much faceroll as Monks.
Even though most Monks lost alot of DPS with the IAS nerf, the mobs were nerfed to the point where you can cut your pre 1.0.3 defenses in half and focus much more on DPS to just cut through hordes of enemies extremely quick.
Barbs were affected the same way. It went from an "almost" mandatory sword n board build to more barbs running DW or 2h. It's nice to see some flexibility now.
All of them are good farmers, but if you're not having fun then you're going to suck at it. If you're having fun, you'll try harder, so you'll farm better!
just because it's easy to build a barb that wouldn't die does not make it a good solo farmer.
A correctly built DH, Wizard or WD wouldn't die either, and they kill 10X as fast as a dualwield WW sprint barb any given day. You don't know how fast DPS classes take down solo mobs until you had used one, then you'd know how slow a barb really is....
I have a Barbarian, a Wizard and play extensively with 3 friends who have DHs, Wizards, Monks and I can say from the ones listed, my Barbarian is the best solo farmer if you are considering speed to kill elites/champ packs.
My Barbarian kills any champ pack/elite pack in less than 15 seconds, usually less than 5 seconds. 2H/damage build with WotB (Insanity Rune), Earthquake (any rune works, I use reduced cooldown) and Ignore Pain (Ignorance is Bliss) and I can literally stand still and not worry about dying while killing stuff. Yes, this even works on Invuln Minions/Shielding because I just run into the center of them and kill them.
If you consider magic/gold find to be the basis for best farmer, then a wizard/DH would be better in most cases, since they require 1 less stat to be decent in Inferno (don't really need All Resists in most cases) and can more easily get gf/mf gear while still being effective. Barbarians can do it too, but at much greater cost.
If I may ask, what does make Barbarian such better farm class over Monk? I'm a bit bored of my DH so I was looking for something different to gear up, have 60 Monk (shitty gear, stuck in a2 prenerf) and 30 Barb, and wondering if it's worth leveling him up (will do it for Achie anyway later).
I mean, the above thing sounds yummy, but so does crit cyclone build. So what is it?
The answer to this depends a lot on how geared, and which act.
Farming undergeared content all the ranges are better since, well, melee classes can't really progress without going completely defensive and depend on mobs dying from boredom.
However, once melees are overgeared then it becomes trivial. Killing mobs only take slightly longer than running in straight line. If you're talking about massively overgear farming act1 then I think classes that can run the fastest will probably be best.
Factoring in how fast barb kill elites, I'd have to say it's barb once he's massively overgear the content.

Maybe good geared barb with Wirlwind build?:>

"dps classes"? Whalecum to Diablo 3 where every class is a DPS class.
Have you even tried a barb for farming?
Ironic post of the week right here.
This reminds me of Mos Def.
