Easier? I'm trying to figure out how this game is any easier. I still wander out into the desolate sands with my demon hunter only to be faced by a pack of fast, jailer, vortex, waller that rape me constantly. Following by the teleporting invulnerable minions with frozen, and teleport. Then the extra fast, fire chain, leaping burrowers with mortar, extra health, and reflect damage run at me from nowhere. Followed by the whirlwinding mobs in act 2 with vortex, jailer, mortar, fast.
Easier? I'm sorry but the game is no less difficult for a solo player, and if the game is THAT easy for you then I emplore you to go out and get a job because you have too much free time.
it's not the same. there were lots of nerfs to players and buffs to monsters. learn2read. derp.
Read what? He complains about affixes that existed before and the only buffs were to mini bosses so people would stop farming them. The game is also easier, you can farm early inferno acts for gear, you couldn't before. Thanks for coming.

Playing Diablo since 97. I know nothing and having nothing good to say, I be a troll.
I'm afraid that the answer may lie in how you build now. Monsters do not hit as hard, but if you geared yourself out as a glass cannon (able to deal massive damage but not take a hit) then you're still going to die if the monsters get to you. Picking up more defensive abilities or stats might be the best thing for you at this point.
If you're having a hard time with the desolate sands, I might recommend going back a bit and using the new NV buff to your advantage. You may also be seeing a decrease in your killing speed due to the IAS nerf so you might have to consider new ways to get your damage back up.
Some packs and combinations are still hard. I die quickly to firechains and molten as a barbarian (sometimes depends on what type of elite it is), but I do my best to avoid the packs I know I can't handle. It's better than constantly throwing myself at them due to the high repair costs. If you keep running into those packs, maybe the solution is to leave the game and start it up again and hope for better packs.
It's not perfect, but there were steps taken to make it easier, but you're still going to have to meet them half way by having the right gear and build to survive.
If you're having a hard time you need to go back to more manageable content and farm it. Personally I find the game way easier in general. Prior to the patch Act III raped my tank spec Barb. Now I'm a 2H DPS spec and Act III is manageable with some luck, but still not doable. That's why I'm farming Act II.
Just so you know, I have a full time job. 9 hours a day, 5 days a week, and I go to bed at 11. So I don't play that much.
Explain to me how more vitality, and resistance is going to help me survive against super fast mobs that I can't escape from?
I saw a DH who, post-patch, was stacking defensives and was able to basically tank monsters. So more defensive stats will, as the term implies, give you more defense.
Explain to me how more vitality, and resistance is going to help me survive against super fast mobs that I can't escape from?
Well, #1 as far as I know, every class has a skill that can "break" them from a "lockdown". (In your case, Smoke Screen; Thanks Aldrek/KageKaze!)
For example; WotB for the Barbarian breaks through jailer/freeze/etc and keeps me immune from said effects, so I can pop that when needed and kill 1-2 of the mobs before it wears off!
Then, #2 the +Vit and +Res will help keep you alive from the incoming damage!

Those stats will help you to take the hits when they do get up to you, but as a Demon Hunter, your biggest allies are in snares and roots. If you are building for pure damage then your survival is based around killing before they kill you. if that's not happening, it's time to build more defensively.
They buffed act 1 drops and the way Nephalem Valor works now, so it really might not be a bad idea to roll through act 1 finding elite packs to kill. Previously that wouldn't have given you much in the way of good gear but you can now get ilvl 61-62 pretty regularly there. Sometimes even ilvl 63.

Well, #1 as far as I know, every class has a skill that can "break" them from a "lockdown", I am not sure exactly what that skill is for DH (anyone care to chime in on this one?)

Smoke Screen breaks CC and Movement Impairing effects. More +Discipline and Discipline Regen will allow more Smoke Screens.

Yeah, they have Smoke Screen which has no cooldown unlike the 2 minute WotB. It does cost discipline though, but you could then combine it with Preperation to be able to do it more often (prep even has a healing rune). Smoke Screen also provides temporary invulnerability (1 second) if I'm not mistaken.

Yup. 1 second unruned. You can rune it with Lingering Fog for an extra 0.5 seconds.
That would imply that beating certain affix combos requires a certain amount of skill, or even that playing Diablo requires a certain amount of skill. Of course it does not; it requires gear and luck. Fast - Vortex - Molten - Jailer - Whatever is not "difficult" in the sense that it can be overcome by skill, it is simply cheap and inescapable death. So what to do? Skip or run run run away while firing something off every now and again. And die, a lot.

No wonder yo'ure dying alot with that kind of mentality.

Really kid.....Really. The game is noticeably easier. If you are a DH and you weren't farming Act3/4 before the patch and you are having trouble with Act 2 after the patch I hate to say it but its not the game its you. Browse through these forums and you will see people telling you how easy and people quitting because it has become too easy.
The fact that you threw the job thing in just makes the post even more embarrassing for you. I work 40 hours a week and enjoy coming home and relaxing for an hour or 2 playing D3. Its very easy to be good at this game and only invest a few hours a week.

While I do agree that Inferno requires skill to comfortably beat, especially beyond Act II (barring blatantly overpowered and broken abilities), you can't deny that gear plays a huge part of it. I challenge you to take a melee character into Act III with gear of an Act I level. You can be the best player in the world and still get one shot by a Spearman.
Chance (not luck) also is a big part. You can continually get easy packs like Waller, Vortex, Jailer, Health Link (From a melee point of view. Obviously for a ranged that's a pretty annoying combo.), or you can keep getting annoying packs like Molten, Desecrator, Jailor, Fire Chains.
TL;DR: Skill, gear, and chance are all equal players in the more challenging parts of the game.
Gear is obviously needed, but play D2 hell mode with no rune words, unqiues or set items. Let me know how you do... gear has always been required it's part of the Diablo franchise. Skill basically applies to how well/quickly you can farm.
I play ranged and I planned ahead from reading the forums. I stacked defensive stats while trying to maintain as much DPS as possible and I've been doing fine. I've never spent more than 30K on an item in the AH either... mainly because I've never had a lot of gold. I've only played my char for 80 hours, lack of time is irrelevant.

It's the same as before except they don't hit as hard... shitty affixes happen. Derp.
But I bet you need more +Vit and more +Res All, you may also need to drop down to Act 1 to farm for better gear.

lol
Also, they DIRECTLY nerfed the damage on mosters Act 2+, dont tell others to "learn2read" when you obviously have not read the patch notes.
