Monk, because to me he seems to be overall the worst class in the game.
Monk also has the best defenses overall in the game, You are going to want a Monk with you in inferno
Quoted for truth, the Monk will rock.
The passives alone are to drool for.
- Seize the Initiative: Your Armor is increased by 100% of your Dexterity.
- One With Everything: Your resistance to all elements is equal to your highest elemental resistance.
- Near Death Experience: When receiving fatal damage, you are instead restored to 35% of maximum Life and 35% Spirit.
There are also some great active abilities, healing, damage reduction on mobs etc... all in all it is one of the best hardcore classes, on paper at least.
I meant Inferno, just a mistype. My estimate is still 4 months ATLEAST for SC Inferno. Not worth arguing it when there's no data and you assume that skill means you can get the gear you need instantly. Good luck with your two weeks.
agreed. yes there is definitely skill involved, but it also depends heavily on the gear that drops for you. it is foolish for anyone to assume they are going to sail through inferno in 2 weeks imo

still need to find the pages of training or whatever to create the good items...
anyways, have fun making the game into a chore for yourself.
Wizard can Slow Time and Teleport to escape. - 2 spells to put distance between angry mob and the wizard.
Monk Can dash right out of an area and heal. -Unsure how many times a monk can do this before spirit is gone, but he can cover enough distance to be safe for sure.
Demon Hunter Can vault out of an area. - Can do 3-4 times to put good distance before discipline is low.
Witch Doctor can spirit walk to safety. Spirit Walk. Not a fast movement and not sure how it plays yet and how rough the cooldown maybe.
Barbarian can leap to safety. Can leap about a screen away and sometimes take short cuts involving terrain.. Unlike the spirit walk which avoids damage or the Wiz's ability to slow time to stop missle/ranged attacks and teleport, the barb gets one retreat feature on a cooldown and its effectiveness counts on the terrain involved. The wiz can teleport to any of the places the barb can leap to plus slow time. To me, it appears the Barb will have the hardest time retreating. Of course, strategies will involve as inferno is entered and who really knows how it will turn out.
well the thing about the barb you've said is in my opinion slightly wrong but feel free to correct or comment on anything i may have misread or misinterpreted
1. ground stomp for stun and knock back with one of the runes and another has slow
2. ignore pain has a knock back rune variant
3.sprint has a rune variant which can knock through enemies
4. you could always whirlwind out of mobs
5. Revenge has a knock back rune variant
6. Furious charge is like the monks charge but I'm assuming just in a straight line
7.threatening shout has a rune which has a 35% chance of monsters fleeing and also a slow monsters by 30%
8. if you have wrath of berserker one of the runes allows for a large knock back damage on using skill plus the speed boost from this is also a good run away skill
that's just my two pence on the barb but i think I'm a bit barb biased because he is going to be my main/first character
I don't really want to compare all the CC all the classes have when it comes to a hasty retreat but I left the possiblities open with my last sentence. Once we get to inferno, I'm sure there will be barb strategies for survival. I love the Barb too. He was my favorite beta class. I have some worries on how well he will do in inferno but thats why he will be my second or 3rd class. Wiz and DH seem really fun to me too. Monk has potential. I'm not a fan of the WD but I think the class should do fine.
- Near Death Experience: When receiving fatal damage, you are instead restored to 35% of maximum Life and 35% Spirit.
'kill shit without getting killed' NDE doesn't help with killing shit and while it does help not getting killed, it doesn't decrease the amount of damage heading towards you in any way.
For HC I would agree that it's downright OP for aiding in progression. But in SC the only thing it would do is decrease the number of attempts [of a certain encounter] arising from freak incidents.
I've got a feeling DH is a very underrated class. It will come down more to gear farmed in Hell rather than class I think, as they all have their pros and cons in solo play. The biggest challenge a DH could have is facing a waller and not being able to maneuver out.
As far as DPS, rockets will be able to tear things to shreds as long as gear has the appropriate stats.

Agree. In the OB, I kinda feel DH has the most bursting dmg.
I think the Wiz, will be a nice change from the way the Sorc dominated in D2.
I think alot of people are still into the thinking that ranged classes and one skill (ie.monks) are going to be the key to taking on inferno, it's like they aren't listening to what the Devs have been saying all along.
they have specifically focused on making it challenging and making you try really hard to kill stuff slowly... i.e. if you are ranged and or dying often, you are not going to win any battles.... I am also certain that NDE will be more of an 'out' in earlier difficulties and merely a time waster in Hell/inferno difficulties, certainly Blizz won't make it so that 1 skill can be the game changer.

I like the random events that Blizzard had implanted, so I probable will spend a lot of time repeating an area to explore all the random events. Every character would get to inferno sooner or later. I don't see the point of rushing it. Since in D3 all offensive skill are based on character's weapon damage, there aren't any class can wear crappy equiqments and hope they can survive in the inferno setting. Blacksmith make the farming easier, but getting the perfect magical property suited for the class and the build needs luck. Of course, we still need to farm for the recipes and materials.
If there is particular weak class in inferno difficulty, Blizzard will patch it...right?
I expect Wizard to have the hardest time. Their survivability is balanced with decent defenses, but not as high as the barbs and monks, and decent snares and control, but not as much as DH or WD. This is the problem.
Monks and Barbarians have tricks, sure. Stuns, slows, leaps, teleports, knockbacks, sure. But when shit hits the fan, and they're copping hits, they're DESIGNED to take a few hits without going down. 30% passive melee reduction plus more passive and active reduction options than the other classes, even when their enemies are hitting them head-on, they will survive long enough for that cooldown to come back up, and get out of there.
WD and DH have the lowest passive reductions, however they have the most tricks. Abilities like Spirit Walk and Smokescreen are 100% you-are-fine mechanics - correctly used, you can not die while they are available. Between summons, slows, fear and their other tricks, like Vault, these classes will almost always have an answer when asked how you're gonna survive. If everything is on cooldown, they are at risk, but they won't be one-shot still. I expect many deaths to be with 1-2 sec left on that life-saving fear/smokescreen/vault, but the majority of the time they will be there.
Wizards have some damage reduction, and some tricks, but not as much as the others. It remains to be seen if they are actually the best, or if they struggle as I believe. My main concern is that wizards have too many snares, and not enough stuns, knockback or other mob removal abilities. If wizards rely too much on snares to survive, then inferno's snare reduction and faster monsters across the board will force them to play very cautiously and/or deploy more survival skills than they are comfortable with. Sure, a wizard with frost nova, teleport, time stop and arcane armour will survive inferno. The issue then is how are you going to kill anything?
If a DH/WD can stop enemies ever reaching them, and a Monk/Barb can survive mobs reaching them, then the wizard is in an awkward spot where they can *almost* keep things away, and then *almost* survive when they do, but probably do neither well enough. So, that's my call. However, a well-played Wizard will still solo inferno, it won't be impossible, and god knows that in a group they are amazingly powerful.
I think it's going to be best having a balanced squad, looking forward to running my Bard around with a witch doctor or vice versa having a bard there to tank with someone else to spread the combat and provide some extra targets and slow enemies will be a great way to deal with enemies.
Also regarding that rush to inferno, good luck with that, looking at the monster HP/Damage on inferno, you are going to have to get to a point where you can one hit monsters on hell before you can tackle inferno... and that is just to be able to hurt things and last longer than a couple of hits.
I'm not sure if i will see inferno at least this year, seems like you will have to grind hell for like forever, unless you have the cash to burn on RMAH... and i dare say that is the plan.

I can't help but notice multishot is a HELL of a lot better in Diablo 3 than it was in Diablo 2, damage wise. i agree, i have solely been focusing on monk and barb, but demon hunter might be a diamond in the rough.

Um, there's no Bard class in D3 afaik, j/k Now, that could be interesting though. Pure support, and maybe a steel flute to jab the eyes of demons with. Would certainly win this poll hands down.
i voted demon hunter. but i think in the hands of a skilled player, their kiting abilities should be sufficient, just more difficult than the other classes perhaps. idk. we'll see a month or more down the road =]
i think many of you haven't really listened to jay's inferno interview. For one you keep talking about kiting and that's why range will have an easier time over melee. However, he specifically states that champ/elites will have special abilities that regular mobs will not have. Also the AI for inferno difficulty is alot more intuitive and smarter then your other difficulties. He also talks about an ability called grenadier which is a ranged ability that does more dmg to range then to melee. My point is that he states that just because your range does not mean you will have it easier. honestly i don't really have a clue who will have it easier. i remember reading somewhere that champ/elite/bosses are immune to certain forms of CC like stuns. I also believe that since we're talking about soloing inferno that being able to solo the champ/elite packs and farm them is what it's going to come down to. obviously once you get to act 1 inferno you'll have to farm the rares for awhile till you can move to act 2 and so forth.
saying hey i'll go farm rares with this group till i can solo act 2 doesn't count imo. if you want to talk about soloing inferno, then it's only soloing if you actually solo all of it. i think that all classes are gonna have a lot of trouble especially with the enrage timers that they put in place. i honestly don't think any class is gonna be OP in inferno...
A ~15 votes lead over couple other classes is overwhelming indeed.
As overwhelming as your DH and theorycrafting knowledges?
olololol
Actually DH hasn't gotten more then like 10 votes since the option to vote "None. There is 100% perfect balance between the classes." was added. Just the old results that are completely skewered since you had to vote for one of em
You can delete your vote, and pick something else....
Also, you would need to be high, stupid, or a delusional fanboy to even consider that the game is perfectly balanced.
The DH has nearly double the votes of the other choices.
