1-9, simply because people are people, more often than not - stupid. Oh and I chose it because rumor has it Blizz players have a habit of forgetting to feed their children, let alone themselves, when immersed in WoW.
, a condition triggered by sitting for extremely long periods of time. A coroner said that there was a blood clot that formed in Staniforth's leg that moved up to his lungs to cause a fatal pulmonary embolism"
May this be a warning to those of you who plan to play for a whole week solid with a couple hours a day sleep. Bear in mind he was only 20 and the cause was sitting for extremely long periods of time.
As a fellow caring gamer, i urge you to at least get up and walk around every couple hours!
Things like this always seem to worry me somewhat because i sit in my work chari for at least 8 hours a day play games as well after work. I do go out and exercise but still, you never know.
you've done well showing your ability to sit on your high horse not disproving it. That goes both ways bud. tytyty
You supposedly being a psychology major, I do assume you have had some courses in filosophy of science? Considering we're basically using Lakatos' system of advanced falsification you should know that verification is a feat impossible in the field of science. All we can do is provide conclusive proof that something is NOT true, because then we wouldn't need the faulty reasoning of induction. That's why the demarcation criteria (criteria of what is science, and what is not) is such a hard problem.
To get back to your quote, astrology hasn't been conclusively disproven either. Does that mean you believe there could be something to it?
I unfortunately have thought about this and I voted 1-9. I hope for 0. I don't want D3 to be tainted like that. I do think someone somewhere will push too far. I don't think many more than that would happen because if one person died, it would give the rest of the marathoners reality check.

Picture of a dead gamer. Don't open if you don't want to see.
Don't open if you don't want to see
Please: sleep well, remember to keep drinking water to remain hydrated and eat well (healthy food aswell!). Take care of your health so you can enjoy the game right.
Avoid traps: such as this other post on our very forum. "Team LF 1 elite player" day1: 24hr playing day2: 4hr sleep +20hr playing
Don't do this. Don't stay up 24hrs, sleep 4 and play 20 again. That's not elite, that's just dumb as hell
Seems to be the perfect place to ask ... those who have put in extended gaming sessions, say 16+ hours... what did you eat or drink that kept you going?
In other words, what would be a healthy approach if you wanted to do this? Lots of carbs and protein? No suger? Etc .. just curious as id like to do a 24hr session but really have no idea how to prepare.

I'd assume that most people that do these marathons eat/drink very unhealthily. Processed food, frozen food that is often microwaved, and drinks that contain loads of sugar and caffeine (such as energy drinks, coffee and sodas).

Playing a Wizard. Looking for Demon Hunters to play with.
Being the first wont benefit you much at all, not even on the RMAH (I assume that's what most people are rushing for). There is going to be sooooo many people right behind you that you won't have much time to farm a lot of great items before they come across them too. Being first will give you a slight advantage in finding great items first, as is the same for anyone who rushes.
I plan on rushing, but not pushing myself to that extreme.

I need nothing out of the ordinary for 16+ Hours
But for say 24H and more the biggest problem is just I'm getting very sleepy... so cofee would help for that.
For food people that take prot bars and stuff do it because they don't want to do real lunch. The only reason is to not be too hungry, the problem being in these long sessions is that you have a tendency to forget to eat and be too lazy to make a proper dinner so supplements like these help.
My advice for you would be to actually prepare food for the 15th. Make 6 real meals for 2 days and eat them every 4 hours during your 24hours session. Make sandwiches, cold meals and things that easily go into the microwave.
For me its the best of both world, you keep a somewhat healthy diet and its still quick. You will probably have to force yourself to eat after 15H of gaming.
Another advice: Avoid sodas or brush your teeth regularly, after 12H of sodas the acidity is over the top.
wasn't there something about those power bars being bad for you?
Shouldn't take too much of it. Also verify what it really is, if you mean only prot and carbs it should be fine to take one once in a while. If there is something else in it supposed to boost something I'd advise against it (same for energy drinks). But I don't know a lot on bars since I don't really use them.

And because you got lucky doesn't mean others should follow your example.

And you should't run around telling others to do the same, because they might not be in the physical condition to handle it.

Thank you for this. Nothing else that I see today will exceed this in making my day.
