Can we come on vent even if not part of the group, it's so lonely sometimes
I'll see what I can work out.
I'll be messaging those of you who are EU players that have already applied within the next few days. (Regarding some questions about your preference, latency, and your thoughts on something).
Have you ever been part of a committed group for any video game, card game, role-playing game (D&D) or board game before?
I led a 8-person team that played twice/week in City of Heroes, and was an officer in a wow raiding guild until I stopped playing that game this past fall.
What class do you plan to start with?
Either Monk or DH. Not quite certain which. Even playing the beta to the point of Overachiever has only narrowed it down that far.
Do you plan on rushing or taking your time through Normal? If you're taking your time, what will you be doing for Nightmare / Hell / Inferno?
I will be exploring every dungeon and inch of space during my first normal playthrough (which will be with a like-minded player), although since I'll be taking the first three days off to play near-nonstop, it probably won't be "taking my time." I'll likely try to be somewhat efficient in getting through NM/Hell, although it seems like they will really reward doing side dungeons via rare and champion packs.
How often will you be able to play?
After the initial rush, I'd expect to be playing around 17-20 hours/week.
Do you have a microphone and are you willing to use Ventrilo? (If you answer no to this - then, well, you didn't read my OP :))
Mumble is a hundred times better! But yes, I could go back to Vent - even if that'd feel like going back to the stone age.
Do you have any suggestions for a group like this?
This isn't a suggestion per se, but I wanted to point to some of the group build theorycrafting I've done. Obviously it wouldn't be a strict group with such a large pool of people to play with, but being able to switch into these kinds of builds when playing with 4 people could help a lot: http://us.battle.net/d3/en/forum/topic/4253973595
What timezone are you in?
EST
Are you over the age of 18?
30
Will you share and trade within the group as much as you can, or just a little?
Quite a bit. I'll be focusing on one character for a long time, so I am not placing any value on non-max level items that aren't useful for my class.
(Feels like im applying for a dating site made for geeks ;).
Maybe you are!
Anyways. I thought about it and I am def going to roll DH for my first toon. Mostly cuz it is fun and partially cuz according to the people on the official forums, I am 1 of 3 people in the world who aren't rubberbanding when I try to play the DH.

I PM'd RP but I'm the other stray WD select. Otherwise a brief introduction. I'm 28, did play D1 and 2. Lvl ~85 for all the d2 classes several times both solo and small groups at /players 8. Last MMO I played was UO and that was.. hah, back in 97-99, I bet some of the kids here weren't even born then. I get a few weeks off of school until early june so I'm more or less free to play at my leisure. Otherwise looking forward to a good time.
My WD plans are supportive but I'm looking at non-persistent summons, CC, dot focus, buff-debuffs, etc, viability up in the air though as no beta and no release yet, we'll see.
On a side note, what is it with the navy and witch doctors, coincidence? Oh, right, I'm a veteran of the "global war on terrorism", got the medals to prove it, rofl.
Played Baldurs Gate/Neverwinter nights/Icewind dale/Diablo 2/Vindictus/Monster Hunter
Have you ever been part of a committed group for any video game, card game, role-playing game (D&D) or board game before?

I'd be happy to be part of a group that likes and wants to play D3 and it never hurts to have more friends to joke around with.
Do you have any Diablo or any A-RPG experience?
Played Diablo when I was 8 and I still play D2.
Have you ever been part of a committed group for any video game, card game, role-playing game (D&D) or board game before?

What class do you plan to start with?

Have a mic and I use vent already.
Do you have any suggestions for a group like this?
Be friendly and have fun get to know you clanmates ( if you want to call it that ) or just be helpful.
What timezone are you in?

Will you share and trade within the group as much as you can, or just a little?
I'm happy to help other members of the group.
Will you prefer co-op or playing alone?
It always more fun with people that want to play the game.
I love the idea of small, sharing group (around 10-20 members), but playing on the U.S. region is kinda a dealbreaker for me here, as I'll be playing with my IRL friends on the EU region and don't want to have a set of two characters. Though I like your ideals and enthusiasm so at least I wish you a good luck and may the odds be ever in your favor (I read the Hunger Games before it was cool!).
Edit: Also latency to U.S. servers tends to be quite acceptable, but the random spikes are what scares me. Long live the teh Red Pandas.
There aren't regions in Diablo III. Your characters are account-based and are persistent. The only thing that is region-based is the RMAH. (And obviously the servers the games are hosted on - but not the characters)
Do you have any suggestions for a group like this?
Perhaps a separate clan website.
All better.
Considering that this is strictly a Diablo III group and it will only consist of a small amount of members - a website would be pointless. A website for 25-50 people is kind of a waste, in my opinion. It's also not a clan. It's strictly a Diablo Fans community group.
I'm not trying to be rude about it - just saying we really don't need one. There isn't a complete need for one. We could just use the trading forums here and stuff.
I don't want people to really be forced to go to an external source for something. Especially if it can be given to them within the game or vent server.
If I have not contacted you yet - Don't fret! I am organizing and processing some ideas for the group. We have over thirty days until release - but I promise that I will try to get us prepared by then.

Actually, I think you're right for wanting simplicity, simply because going to my old clans' websites became a hassle and was worthless.
I only meant to point out the distinction between Diablo's clans and WoW's guilds.

That is definitely true. Diablo is an action game first and fore-most. That's why I'm trying to make this as simple as possible.
I can't tell you the number of times I joined a guild that had a guild website - and you know what I never did? I never went to their website xD.

I like taking long walks in hell with my pet Kormac. I like slaying demons and making YouTube videos of it.
I also like to apologize profusely for even the slightest thing (true story).

Pfft ladies like a hardcore man, try taking a stroll down inferno with a pet sheep!
