Other class i wish D3 added would be a vampire-like class (not the twilight bs), a class with no second resource per say, his ''mana'' would be his own blood, so he would use skills to steal life from enemies and some skills would need his blood (hp) to attack, his weapon could be a whip, would be a mid range character, either a caster or physical.
If this comes to fruit, remember it was my idea!
what ? im sorry i didnt read any commentaries, guess we think alike.
The fanboy has been tortured for years and through his anger and malice he wields the very powers to change the fate of Sanctuary and all it's inhabittants.
Skills:
- inpatient shout: The fanboy shouts his anger and rage at more delays to his arrival in sanctuary.
- troll forums (channeled) :The fanboy sits at his computer setting his powerful gaze on his pc screen, gaining +excitement/5 seconds.
- preorder: The fanboy readily whips out his credit card and purchases D3 only moments after flaming the dev team for further delays.
But in all seriousness, I'd really like to see a whole new class - something non human. Maybe some kind of demon that decides to fight for the citizens of Sanctuary.
BATLLEMAGES for 1h+shield. Use Passive elementals to enhance your sword dmg and/or shield, with a charge attack like smiters used to have but with AoE dmg.
yea that happens, but whats another name for a vampire though, that would be diablo like?
Hmm im not the best in Diablo lore =/....you know the demon hunter was suppouse to look like a demon of some sort ?
wish they kept that....maybe the vampire (like barbarian-berserk and wiz-archon) could have a transformation skill on lv30 too, to get some wings or demonlike form, i donno xD.....things you do when you got no key =p
I would love to see the necromancer get a comeback for the next expansion. I still remember when i made my first necro and focused on corpse explosion (before the nerf). It was very sweet just listening to all of those corpses spew forth their intestines in a mighty cacophony of destruction!! Obviously, the developers might go for totally new classes....and i would be just fine with that.
Those skills would have to be diverted to a different type of character, because the witch doctor has basically filled the role of the necromancer, thats just how i see it, hence why i suggested the Vampire.

Im sorry buddy but you better give up on a necromancer idea cuz blizzard already added a necronmancer-like class which is the witch doctor, i know its not the same, for better or worse, it is a similar class, and blizzard normaly never put 2 similar classes on a diablo game.
I'm pretty fond of the druid and necro classes from D2 and I'd love to see them come back but i think they would probably go for something new, for at least one of the new classes anyway, assuming there is more than one. A few little ideas I had were, a Doppelganger class, who doesn't want to be a quill rat right? But there is some cooler stuff you could become, the problem with that would be the skills would probably be a nightmare to implement with so many monsters to choose from and rune mods to those skills too...
Also thinking along the line of the vampire idea, not so much a vampire but a thaumaturgist / blood magic type class like some others suggested. Though maybe that's a little too similar to other classes... but the vampire class itself could be a bit too cheesy at the moment and i just don't see blizzard going straight that way.
Failing any of those things we could always have a Bard / Minstrel, lol
I think that Blizzard may try to think of doing 2 classes, One similar/returning which I would think to be Druid, I think they would fit in awesome with Diablo 3, just imaging spells like Fissure / Molten Boulder with skillrunes would be awesome
The other class although hard to guess, I think will be surrounding where Act 5 is *spoiler* I can imagine some pretty cool idea's presenting themselves in lore and in function when we get there
But it is possible Blizzard may only add 1, because when you think about it, how many variables it will add to the balancing, it will become crazy, especially if it's a completely new attempt at an archetype, so I'm leaning towards to just a Druid return which would be awesome

And there will be two expansions, so which is more likely, two new classes or four?
It seems to me there are three arch-types missing in Diablo III; the javelin/spear/throwing weapon class, the shapeshifting, element wielding class, and the shield heavy class.
Here's my ideas on how they could implimented.
Elemental Knight
Shield focused melee class
Short range control of elements
Ability to enchant weapon or shield with different elements
Spartan
Spear, javelin , throwing weapons primarily
Can use either long range or melee depending on weapon choice
A lot of bleeding dots and life regeneration
Demon Master
Ability to shape shift into different types of demons
Heavily focused on life stealing abilities
Able to summon lesser demons for short periods of time
The druid coming back is very likely, as there is no class with control over the winds, earth, life/living animals, or shapeshifting. The necromancer coming back is unlikely as it shares to many aspects with the witch doctor compared to the druid. Flavorwise my vote goes to the Druid as a returning class, at least in spirit.
And a completely new class, likely one with heavy armor as the barbarian is the only one who looks the part, but the skills don't quite say "Knight". The paladin won't be in, as the Templar fills that role in the game.
/Agree
I think what is missing in the current character lineup is a true hybrid class, the Druid could fill that gap. I guess one can argue that the Witch Doctor's nature damage and summoning ablities could be some aspects of the Druid.
It could be interesting seeing a shapeshifting class that utilizes both melee and caster in its rotation.
What about an Edyrem from the sin war trilogy? but since this is way in the future you're talking about random powers and much higher levels now, one that would be fit to fight the demons of hell. These powers would include everything from nature, fire, healing, to shapeshifting, and metamorphosis and much more.
I would enjoy if they brought the paladin class back. I thought that was a very fun class. Zeal and fanatacism running around and wailing away with your hammer and giant shield. If they came out with a new class I think some sort of shaman would be a nice addition.
For me I'd love to see a blood mage, a class that uses your own health as the rescourse, but most abilities also return health in some way so then there isn't MUST HAVE skills, or a life drain ability. Brings to mind from the diablo book series, Bartuc, the warrior of blood, heavy armor wearing blood mage, regardless of the fact he was evil, i class like it would be great. I cant imagine any of the classes returning besides maybe the druid under another name, and different shape shifting abilities, but to shape shift, it would be nice to have a toggle to see the gear your wearing as well, so i dant have to see a huge bear arse looking at while im playing
I would love to see the return of the druid. Control of the forces of nature was a completely unique way to play a game. Or if not a druid maybe a shaman type of class.

The different classes in diablo have all had some similarities, but very greatly in their own way.
The using ones' lifeforce to cast spells is very intriguing.

Beta Key?! =P
This is where i have to beg to differ, im sure the barbarian has amazing ability to control wind, at least from one direction couldnt resist
