so all the people "flaming" about PVP when it comes to diablo keep referring to people who play PVE (which is what diablo is 99% based upon) "carebears" and saying its because of "scripted fights". so considering diablo has most of the game randomized... items monsters ect. and the choice of billions of different skill combo's. how is PVE in diablo "scripted" and how is someone a "carebear" for playing PVE? also it seems like people are calling people "scrubs" now instead of noobs? I've only been out of the gaming scene a few years but wow... any info would be appreciated thanks.

You will see the same think from the Hardcore people who will say that anyone who doesn't play hardcore is some kind of carebear or something. It's because they have an inferiority complex and try to build themselves up by putting other people down. There's no right or wrong way to play one of these games, if you like PvP, play that, if you like Softcore, play that. Heck, if what you enjoy is playing each class through normal difficulty and then quitting, that's fine too. It's a game people!

It's the influx of so called wow-kids who play arenas in 2k-2,4k MMR and think they're good and who also think of D3 as their next game. They'll plague D3 for a few months after release, but they'll return to wow or some other MMO. Just ignore them and play the game however you want it.
A bit OT, but isn't PvE wow term? It used to be PvM when I played D2.
PvP'ers call PvM'ers carebear because they stick to fighting very easy monsters as their experience, which is fine for them. Others out here in the world enjoy a challenge and well Diablo PvM has never offered that short of making a build that makes absolutely no sense which you would make I suppose if you got bored of running the same monsters 9000000000x. Look at Doom or ID games, they invented TDM...why? Cause playing against humans and killing them is fun. People who play FPS and just play campaign are carebear. People who play softcore and not hardcore are carebear, people who don't duel in hardcore are carebear. In the end everyone is carebear in one way or another so that doesn't matter. Now for people being called scrubs instead of newbs well thats simple too. Newbs is short for newbie, which means you are new. Scrub means you suck, it is pretty simple if you suck you are a scrub, if you are new you are a newb.
And don't worry to much about the words carebear and newb and scrub cause this is Diablo, you are gonna get grieved a lot on battle.net just make sure you thank Jay Wilson for taking away hostility so you have less ability to fight back.

No, "PvE" was around before WoW.

Vlad... please don't talk on this topic. You are one of the incessent PVP > PVM people... as well as the people that keep bitching about pvp in d3.
I'm going to play one of each character, not hardcore, and probably use the PvP arena once or twice. If you want to call me a carebear then go ahead, because it's a game. With my experience in D2 if someone hostiles you and you start beating their ass they run away and start making excuses to why they were losing, and that they only ran away because "you're X levels ahead of me!". The diablo crowd plus PvP sounds like a really bad idea. I'm just glad they took the ability to turn hostile towards other players out.

Um when have I ever bitched about PvP in Diablo 3 buddy? If anything I ask for hostility back and duels mid game and not in an arena only, other than that it's fine as is, the community and I don't need Blizzard to hold our hands to make the game how we want.
Also I am a PvP>PvM guy huh? Where did you get that out of what I wrote here? Man you sure added a lot to this discussion here too, can't wait to see you in game....oh wait youll be one of those kids hiding in private games so the big bad pkers won't get you. Keep walking scrub.
Why should Vlad be silent. He has a right to his opinion just like anyone else does.
I believe the term Carebear was invented to call whiners about something is to tough and to nerf it so they can do it instead of trying to overcome that obstacle by looking at other methods to beat the monster or challenge.

On Strike and supporting Fallout 4 Mod Makers
Some fallout 4 mod makers have had their mods stolen and uploaded and downloaded on Bethesda's site for the Xbox One.
For people saying that PvE is too easy and not a challenge... I draw your attention back to post nerf instances in WoW. It took people 1 year to get past the first two giants in MC... I won't mention 1 hour lockout vael in BWL or unbeatable C'Thun.
So how does this relate to Diablo... well basically the designers of the game can make scripted events as challenging or simple as they desire. What blizzard is going for these days is something that is accessible to the majority of players with more than one brain cell. As a mainly PvE player I get really frustrated when things are changed to make that content more simple... I truly hope Inferno is ridiculously hard... but I am doubtful it will be because then it would limit the replayability of diablo for the majority of players.
One of the main reasons I dislike pvp is due to the differences in latency (now supposedly d3 does away with that so maybe it will work)... if someone has 50ms and you have 400ms you are at a distinct disadvantage even if you are a better player.
The whole calling each other names because of someone's preference while playing a game for fun is completely stupid. Do you go to a soccer match and start calling the players scrubs because they don't play football? People need to get over themselves and stop basing their self worth on making others feel bad.

I am all for a challenge. I don't mind getting my rear handed to me by mobs over and over again. I enjoy being able to build up and get stronger and find a way to overcome an obstacle. I don't like PvP cause I almost always suck at it.

New Diablo 3 Expansion Pack Class! The Carebear!!!! "I shoot freaking lasers from my belly!!"

NOOOOO!!! Please not GW2.
On topic: I'm a carebear and proud to be one! =)
I like a challenge, but I mainly play games to experience what the game has to offer in terms of the atmosphere, story, gameplay and character progression. I don't like pvp because I don't like doing. However, from my time of playing WOW and AoC, I will say that it was really satisfying sneaking up on some unexpected person and taking them out before they knew what was going on... I also enjoyed very much getting revenge on those that did it to me =).
Um when have I ever bitched about PvP in Diablo 3 buddy? If anything I ask for hostility back and duels mid game and not in an arena only, other than that it's fine as is, the community and I don't need Blizzard to hold our hands to make the game how we want.

Oh no! I didn't add anything to the conversation!
he might as well of called u a carebear because he proved he is exactly the type of person i was talking about in my OP. lmao
Since I'm a Hardcore player from D2, the way I see the game from HC is completely different than the way I saw the game when I originally started and was playing SC.
In HC you can build a straight up glass cannon char, but if you get hit hard you have a huge chance to die, whereas you can build a char that does as much damage as possible but also having strong resistances / block / dmg mitigation.
Since I haven't played SC in soooooo long I don't know what type of chars they were building.
In HC you have to constantly pay attention, If you lose your focus while in battle you could end up in a bad situation and die, whereas if you were playing SC you die, you just lose xp / gold and spawn back in town. Now you can either exit and rejoin the game or attempt to get your corpse back.
To me playing the game in HC was the most enjoyable experience I had playing D2, having to do things differently than you would if you were playing SC. Like attacking, run back, attack some more(if you were a caster or ranged class) instead of just running head first screaming "For the Horde!". Instead of just running head first into battle you actually were patient and took you time especially if you were undergeared for the area.
If you call people names in a video game and mean it then you have no life and are a loser. If you say it in a rage fit then it's more understandable. That's my 2c on the subject of name calling.
OT: If you wanna play sc then go right ahead there is nothing care bear about it. you have to do it to level your character anyway, unless you do hardcore which is pretty damn hard. Either way you'll end up dying a shitload on inferno difficulty because you are under-leveled by at least 1 on every monster. PVP'ers have no right to call PVM'ers carebears because usually kids who go straight to PVP are terrible at the PVP game and just want to look cool and say I PVP only. Same as in anyother PVP game.

Those people make me sick, but sadly every game has these people that think PvP should be allowed globally, since they get their kicks out of randomly showing up, and then killing someone while the person is trying to play the game.
All such people care about is kill marks, they aren't even part of the serious PvP community(so I feel sorry for the people that generally like PvP, because those punks give PvPers a bad rep), and they always make the carebaar remark, when people say they don't want to deal with that BS(getting randomally killed out of nowhere).
Scripted fights is a completely bogus claim though(people just only want to PvP when they want to, not be "forced" to PvP when some jackass shows up), so they are morons to say fights are such, because even in a arena setting, the fights are randomized, and everyone should know PvE battles in a Diablo game is ofcourse random as well.
A**Holes are in every aspect of every game.
It's inevitable. The PvM, PvP'ers are both as
valid as the next. Pk'ers are from the past,
when Diablo1/2 allowed such actions to be done.
I don't really mind those guys, neither should
any of you since they don't ruin the game.
(specially now that the feature was removed)
On the other hand, hackers/cheaters are the real
issue that should be on everyone's mind.
Playing in a hackfree environment is something most
take for granted and few appreciate when they see it.
I've been playing D3 BETA for 2 days now and let me tell
you it feels just great to be in a hackfree game. Lets just
stop bothering Blizz over trivial stuff and really pressure
them on creating adequate protection from these people who seek
to ruin the game we waited 10+ years to play.
