What I think we need to keep in mind is this is the first time they have done a beta like this, so even if waves are indeed small, chances are we could get a few waves each day as people stop playing (so a LOT more waves than we are use to). We just don't know. For my own sanity, I'll think positivly on that note =p
Yea I don't know what you meant by that but there's never going to be an open beta. Its always going to be invite only. As unfortunate as that is, it's true.

Going by past experience, and by what tests Bliz is looking to use the beta for, I personally would go all in on the chance (likelihood) that there will not be an open beta for D3. Just because Bliz pushed the release window to early 2012 (only a couple months back most likely) doesn't mean they're going to give in and have 20,000 people flood the beta ;).

Well there have been a LOT of people even in these forums, which are a very tiny number of the community. I'm thinking just today Blizz invited at the least 20 000.

didnt they opened the beta for SC2 just before the actual release date of the game? like, a week before?
imo, think they will do that with D3 beta...
I'm pretty sure the SC2 beta ended something like a month before release. And they've said that they don't want the D3 beta to be anywhere near the size of the SC2 beta.
Right. And 10 of them are from this forum. Which would be 1/100th of the entire Diablo community. Uh-huh.
Considering their main focus for the beta is server stability etc, wouldn't you think it would be abit weird for them to go from testing at 60 people, to 20,000+ people? You would think they would be more gradual with the rise in the numbers, especially with the first wave of opt-in's, it would seem more likely they would invite 1,000 odd people to see how the server's stabilize and then go from there
Given that the invites are random I don't see how 10 people from this forum getting the invite immediately makes it solid fact that 20,000 + people must of got invited..... and you'd be suprised how much of the Diablo community use fan sites, Uh-huh you have statisitcs on how many people from the community use fan site's, hahahaha
Can mods ban trolls, please seriously. DiabloFans is turning into a place where we cannot trust the information anymore.
And is it confirmed by trustable sources that a wave happened?
This ^, both parts. If you are going to post something, post it with a creditable source, not just "I know a guy who knows a guy who knows a guy who got in lol hueh hueh hueh.." Honestly you posting shit like that makes you already look like a troll. Here is the correct format for posting some trivial bullshit.
"I got access to the beta, check out these videos on my youtube channel / live stream" Or Scenario 2,
"My buddy got access, here is a link to his livestream/youtube"
Don't just post that you have access or your friend (that you probably don't have) has access, so tired of these kids ruining this community.
All this hype, drama, excessive posting, over nothing but trivial shit. If your post isn't credited then don't post.

Sup everyone, long time reader 1st time poster...
Had to make an account just cause of this debbi downer here.
My Wife and I both got a beta invite at 12:18AM CST on the 27th
Well not everyone can, or will want to setup their PC to stream (bandwidth issue).
And btw I can now confirm there was a wave or something because two of my coworkers got invited, and no they are not F&F. I don't know what proof I can give you, aside erm that I am not a troll?

-Lurking for a long time on here. Figured I'd post. Lol
Starting my 2nd run through (wiz)
Blizzard has already said they will not be confirming or announcing any beta waves during the closed beta portion.
Open beta is very likely toward the end thanks to the delay.
no?
