1. Monsters and destroyable scenery fly like pinballs when struck. Looks very unrealistic and silly! Blizz, can you please tone down the physics a bit? It feels like Titan Quest!
2. Fonts are ugly and unfinished, but I believe this will be fixed
3. Level up and new skill announcements pop up right in the middle of the screen and obscure the action. I hope these can be turned off, just like any type of battle feedback, like damage, crits, gold picked, etc. Completely unnecessary and distracting!
4. Players not taking damage from activated traps (falling walls, etc.) is unrealistic
5. Mouse cursor is ugly and organic. What happened to the gauntlet?
6. Comic-style balloon boxes popping up when characters speak are annoying
7. The aura effect around dropped gold coins is annoying. Dropped gold looks like flying sparkles
8. Characters and NPCs never shut up, I hope there is a way to turn off those prompts (like "not enough mana", the templar exclamations and etc.)
9. Quest exclamation marks above NPCs' heads are a bit annoying and too WoW-like
10. Magic effects look cartoonish, while in DII they seemed more, um, photorealistic? Lightnings, in particular. It's their new art direction, I guess, WoW inspired.
11. Slow projectiles (arrows & such). These will likely be fixed.
Some of these have probably been discussed already.. What do you think, do you also find them annoying?
My place really was here. I was too foolish and stubborn to notice. But, what I truly hoped for then was here. Why do I always realize it When I've already lost it.

Well, I think that most of your gripes will probably be alleviated once you're actually playing the game. Most of the annoyances are probably less noticeable when in the middle of the action. That's just my opinion though.

Yes, my impressions are only from watching the videos. Would be interesting to know what people who actually play the beta think.
This should be on the official forums. If you already posted this on official forums, you can disregard. For the most part, Blizzard doesn't read fansites.
I think a lot of these will be fixed for release though. SC2 in beta started out with quite a few little annoyances. Almost all the major complaints were fixed for release though.
4. Players not taking damage from activated traps (falling walls, etc.) is unrealistic
i don't see your point about this. If you want "realistic", then you should also take damage from friendly fire, your own AOE attacks.... if none of those are "realistic" and you have no problem with it, i don't see what the problem is with traps not doing damage.

I agree on this, they should turn it down a notch.
2. Fonts are ugly and unfinished, but I believe this will be fixed
Are you referring to chat fonts or all fonts in general?
3. Level up and new skill announcements pop up right in the middle of the screen and obscure the action. I hope these can be turned off, just like any type of battle feedback, like damage, crits, gold picked, etc. Completely unnecessary and distracting!
The level-up I like, and I haven't seen a problem with the new skill/new slot announcements getting in the way, but I agree that they could later on.
4. Players not taking damage from activated traps (falling walls, etc.) is unrealistic
Yes but this can cause griefing. There's a big reason why in-game pk has been disabled, and you're even allowed to walk through other team mates or go through zombie walls to also avoid any other possible griefing.
5. Mouse cursor is ugly and organic. What happened to the gauntlet?
I agree, and I think they'll change this on release.
6. Comic-style balloon boxes popping up when characters speak are annoying
What would you prefer? I think it's fine the way it is - it's size isn't intrusive, it makes it clear who's talking and I like that it's simplistic.
7. The aura effect around dropped gold coins is annoying. Dropped gold looks like flying sparkles
Shiny gold is more appealing than dull gold, it gives it a sense of worth, you know? And I'm just throwing this out there, but would the gold still be easy to see if it didn't sparkle? - I just took a look at it, and yes the gold will still be obvious. I guess it's just for the visual appeal then.
8. Characters and NPCs never shut up, I hope there is a way to turn off those prompts (like "not enough mana", the templar exclamations and etc.)
As for the NPCs that are filling in the lore, you can just run away from them. But as for the templar, yeah I see your point. A toggle would be nice.
9. Quest exclamation marks above NPCs' heads are a bit annoying and too WoW-like
I don't care about the exclamation mark, but I'd like the colour changed. Similarities to WoW never bothered me.
IMO, all your annoyance from beta are superficial. Honestly, all those you mentioned doesn't affect the gameplay or distract my concentration to watch and enjoy few streams.

I believe a solid point of playing any diablo game is about being a bad ass. Nothing to me about this seems silly. I actually enjoy it. Since when was Diablo supposed to be realistic?
2. Fonts are ugly and unfinished, but I believe this will be fixed
I personally haven't payed much attention to this so I can't comment.
3. Level up and new skill announcements pop up right in the middle of the screen and obscure the action. I hope these can be turned off, just like any type of battle feedback, like damage, crits, gold picked, etc. Completely unnecessary and distracting!
A prompt in the middle of the screen is distracting when you're killing waves of monsters? There's enough going on that I doubt that little prompt will be that distracting. I think it's great since I remember playing D1 and D2 plenty of times late at night with the sound almost off and not noticing I leveled right away.
4. Players not taking damage from activated traps (falling walls, etc.) is unrealistic
Honestly in the past games, these seemed like a joke. I don't think I ever died to a trap in D1 or D2. They were more annoying then anything.
5. Mouse cursor is ugly and organic. What happened to the gauntlet?
People have stated the animation changes depending on what you're mousing over. I personally could care less what the pointer looks like. It could be Wirt's leg and I wouldn't complain.
6. Comic-style balloon boxes popping up when characters speak are annoying
You'd rather have the scrolling, slow textboxes that took over your whole screen again?
7. The aura effect around dropped gold coins is annoying. Dropped gold looks like flying sparkles
Gold is important now, they want people to pick it up.
8. Characters and NPCs never shut up, I hope there is a way to turn off those prompts (like "not enough mana", the templar exclamations and etc.)
Haven't noticed this in any video so can't comment.
9. Quest exclamation marks above NPCs' heads are a bit annoying and too WoW-like
I guess an exclamation mark can't just be an exclamation mark anymore. It has to always be WoW-like... Seriously, who cares? The exclamation mark is a staple of questing in gaming now, regardless of WoW doing it.
Overall I disagree with you. I feel like so many people are nitpicking. The game looks like it adapting to the times. If I wanted Diablo 1 or 2, I'd just be playing those again right now. I'm a vet who's been playing since the D1 demo was released. I'm excited for this version and I am welcoming the changes with open arms.
The physics is a bit unrealistic since some of the corpses seem to 'float' in the air way too long. They should take a cue from TF2's exploding corpses..those look much more realistic.
The quest "!" mark above the head does seem a bit MMO-ish but really what else is there? Glowing characters? Auras below their feet?
Just as in D2, if you're standing in a campfire or next to a burning cross, you take damage, so should you also take damage from falling bricks and what not from a wall. It just makes sense. Obviously minimal damage, nothing like 1/4th of your health or anything.
I like the mouse cursor how it is..I see no problem with that. Fonts will more than likely be re-vamped before release.

That's a big + 1 and the OP is shut down. 'tis over
You know there's always been one thing that always got to me about Diablo and most RPGs for that matter. Poison damage really wouldn't be accurate for most of the damage. Venom would be more accurate for weapons at least. Poison is ingested while venom is injected. But I can see why they merely say poison rather than venom because there are some things like poison clouds that are truly poison. Having a poison and venom damage type would just seem redundant to most people.

Only those two.
You... being in the beta.
+1 internet lol
Good list, I agree with these.
I am in fact not, you Blizz fanboy

This is the real definition of annoying:

yeah, as I said, these are what annoy me in particular and I was interested to see if other people feel the same way
