You know, and I know that sword doesn't look the same way as in the Diablo II: LOD cinematic or the Diablo III cinematic teaser --- but then the questions are:
1. Was the sword retconned to look something more epic and less boring?
2. If not, where did this sword come from?
Regardless of the answer, ain't it interesting Epic Weapons Facebook added Diablo alongside their other licenses? =)
Though the claim is that this sword was used for the destruction of the worldstone.
My guess is that they chose to sort of semi-retcon it (the game is not out yet after all, so the cinematic could be deemed a work in progress) and make the sword look slightly less plain.
"Azurewrath is a sword that was created by the Archangel Tyrael. It was wielded by Izual, a lieutenant of Tyrael during an ill-fated assault on the Hellforge to delay the forging of the demonblade Shadowfang.
Afterward it began sending visions of ancient prophecies to a mortal, Jacob, which would lead him to the sword and Tyrael."
That is what is on the wiki anyway.
I swear the lore stated that Izual took up Tyraels sword Azurewrath not that it was Izuals. Well according to the wiki anyway, it is Azurewrath in the comic.

It's got the small stone in the middle, but that's about it.
He wouldn't give it to some lame anime looking kid!
