I'm randomly mining caves and shit... Got no idea where to go or what to do. I assume that i should start going to caves in the danger zones with all the blight and decay? Everytime i go there i get sidetracked trying to kill all those soul eaters when i eventually fall to a cave and die... lol
I found a few cool items from golden chests like the magic mirror, cloud in a bottle and the speed boots that let you run like crazy which is kinda cool.
I got a godly enchanted boomerang and a spear of some sort... I got a bunch of stuff in my stash too like materials, bars and lots of gems. Also, i found a bunch of blue-ish blocks that i can't even mine...
I'm too lazy to check the wiki so i keep playing as a clueless noob which is quite fun sometimes
Oh i remember that big worm dude (world eater?) from like a year ago but i don't think i ever managed to kill him.
Should i start checking the wiki or continue being a noob? It's actually quite fun because you don't know what to expect. But i do want to know how to get better weapons and gear.
Anyhow, trying to decide if I want to fight the Twins in my Molten armor first or go for some hard mode gear first. With the 200+ hours I've played, I've never fought a hardmode boss... <_<
On a side note: I just noticed that some of the emoticons I made back in the day are still in use. Go me!

Judge me all you want, you fool. I just dislike stuff like that, I don't need all that 'fluff' just to play games. It's cool that people like it, but I resent it when it becomes mandatory. That's why I reserve the right to crack and hack my way through it until the games I payed for can be run standalone.
Also, it's DRM (amongst other things, I know), and DRM can suck it.
EDIT: I'm building an aerial platform! Which made me inadvertently find some sort of floating island.
You are talking about how you dislike DRM...on a forum dedicated to a game that is one of the most DRM intrusive games to date?
Also, if you have a meteor landing and it hits that sky bridge, you will get barely any meteor. Just an fyi...

Law suit on it's way. But really, I just thought it was funny, complaining about Steam while on a Blizzard site when Blizzard is far worse then Steam when it comes to DRM. (I don't remember Steam having anything remotely like Warden, which is in SC, SC2, WC3, D2, D3, and WoW.) But hey, I don't judge hypocrisy, lord knows I got some of that myself. Lol.
As for exploring the skies, wings, spectre boots, cloud/blizzard/sandstorm in a baloon, or if you can't fly, use meteor shot to find the islands. There's a magical wand that also does that but I forget what it's called.
I am giving Terraria a try as well. LinkX has had a good laugh at me.
It is fun so far, but I have a problem remembering to jump sometimes.

Hmmm, so I started playing again 2-3 days ago to see how 1.2 was.
The new biomes are awesome, the improved textures, item icons, diagonal slopes and stalactites (makes the caves look so much better), not stopping at 1-block high slopes, new music and new items/content is all absolutely mindblowing. I am amazed Redigit actually managed to implement such a huge patch.
I've had quite the funny adventure so far. Always messing with enemies I shouldn't. I went into the Crimson thinking it was like the surface Jungle, and put myself in a nasty situation, surrounded by a couple dozen mobs. Got a sweet Crimson Rod with some Bombs I found in a chest, but the only way out was dying
So, after about 15-18 hours (maybe more?) I managed to boost myself to Meteorite Armor level, with a Nightmare pickaxe and armed with a Phase Gun, a couple Spells and a Phaseblade.
Next step would be farming the Underworld, but that almost always has the nasty side-effect of unintentionally triggering the Wall of Flesh, if I recall correctly. So, am I close to the powerlevel of any of you? Can I play with the grown ups now?
I was also wondering if the game would lag too much. I have some bad experiences with Terraria multiplayer.
I think i've over-mined the normal biome and didn't do enough exploration in the different biomes... I got like nothing... You are all way ahead of me. I might have a lot of ores and gems though... but that's pretty much it

That's possible indeed.
You just have to execute the "server" module and as long as that is running, people can join whenever they want. I used to host one of these for me and my friends.
I thought you guys were way ahead of me... my bad if I got past you, I got a little bit excited. The Phasegun and Phaseblade aren't that powerful though, so it's not a big deal. Let's band together and see how you guys are doing.
