The change to when Hardcore is unlocked is a change that, unless it is changed between now and release, will be the case in retail Diablo III.
so does that mean HC will be unlocked at lvl 10 on retail? pretty cool! blizz is trying to compromise with all of those die hard HC players!
I suppose this is an improvement for people that don't want to have anything to do with softcore, but it honestly seems almost insulting now. Before they could at least make the somewhat reasonable argument that you have to "beat the game" (on normal) before you can play HC, but now it just seems like an arbitrary hoop to jump through before you can actually start playing.
you could say that i suppose....now that i think about it, if I were one of those HC players who wanted to start right away, and your gonna make me get to lvl 10 before i do HC...just seems rather pointless...at such a low lvl why not just make it available on character creation...
does this patch wipe our toons from 13? also wahts up with the avatar jpg/png uploader - it just errors no matter what for me - big small jpg png gif...

Magic Find and Gold Find are now shared amongst party members. The average combined value of the entire party's Magic and Gold Find applies to all players regardless of location in the game world. The averaged values will not display in the UI.
The bold part. So basically if I join a game I dont know my own MF? Because if its averaged in groups but the average doesnt show up in the UI I have no way to know my own MF Oo (except I inspect all player and calulate their MF... or ask and hope they dont lie to me Oo).
So yeah... it prevents the hating against other players... but discourages MFers even more from joining a group
I'd say its the opposite, you can see your own MF but not the average (group MF).

Maybe to discurrage leaving the group immidiatly. You join, check groups MF%, and see it's way below what you get if going solo and just leave.
these changes to MF/GF greatly reduces the want to join co op, for me at least. because if im stacking a good amount of MF/GF myself the chances that the average of 3 other peoples is higher or the same is insanely low, so even if you killed faster in a group if you had much more MF/GF alone your better off MFing alone.
and its been debated before that its not guaranteed that you will kill faster in a group in inferno because its so hard and everyone has to work together and mobs have more health/dmg, so if even 1 person isnt pull their weight then your killing SLOWER then solo or you all die. (if your solo killing speed is good). so now i have 2 reasons to never MF in a group. woot woot

Well, damn, Blizzard! About time you understand that there are no logical reasons to deny people a first run through the game on hardcore!
Well, even that undeniable truth isn't quite understood properly it seems, since you force us to level to level 10. However as the beta shows, thats pretty quick and easy, and shows almost nothing of the game.
Also, some much needed change for the skill system. Still can't see all the skills in one spot, though. Nevermind the runes. Thats one thing you're apparently still too blind to listen to.
Honest this GF/MF change makes perfect sense since that's the way it was in D2. It might not have been averaged, but it was "Shared" in the sense that everyone had a chance to grab the gear that dropped. Now you don't have to worry about someone stealing that uber rare you found and you can still share your MF with a group. This also gives people who geared out for survival a reason to group up if they were angry at having to "carry" a MF player. Not only that, but because more people = more loot per monster, if your group is friendly they may give you something they found.
Granted if you're grouping with randoms, that might be kind of rare, but you could always ask for any class loot if some drops and see what they say, right? Never hurts to be friendly.
It's pretty funny seeing these people complain about leveling to lvl10 to get to hardcore, I counted 2. It takes what like half an hour?
I'll be the one laughing when they don't realize it was in their best interest to know what the bosses will be like before they just jump into HC and die on the Act 2 boss like Duriel rofl.
You don't get it. Playing HC is not about "best interest". I'm pretty comfortable saying this because I'm not really a HC player, so I don't feel 'targeted' by your post. But fair is fair.
Um I never said anything about hardcore being a "best interest" as you state which appears out of the context of my statements. It in-fact appears as you don't even understand basic english.
I implied that the normal completion of the game in D2 was in your best interest before you just jump into the HC version of the game without knowing anything about the act bosses.

OK, first of all, you don't know me, don't know anything about my life, and therefore know nothing about my understanding of English (it's with a capital 'E', by the way).
Second, my post is completely valid, and I thank you for re-demonstrating it with your reply (underlined). HC players don't care about that, they don't care if it's "in their best interest" to play Normal SC before jumping into HC. I'm sure any HC player will back me up on this. As I initially said: you don't get it.
>Playing HC is not about "best interest".< This sentence here is seriously lacking any recognizable sentence structure generally recognized in text based language. It indicates your English being a secondary language. Capitalizing English is pretty unnecessary actually and it probably one of the most common "disrespected" rules on language in informal speech. Mainly because it does not usually add confusion or decrease readability and it fact it may even be considered humble to remove capitalization in certain contexts.
You go on to say, in proper English, what you mean which is players will not care about what is best for them, however this is false. Players will care that they have no way of learning about a bosses abilities after they die from it obviously without understanding why.
This will be remedied to some degree by videos or similar but that fact still remains they will care that they die without learning what is killing them and that is a fact.
