I think there is a chance of seeing Diablo (how that works lorewire, I don't know, but there is a way to do it I'm sure) but there is little chance of seeing either Mephisto or Baal again, at least in D3.
Without discussing the whole lore, Diablo has a better chance of being in the game because, well lets face it, because the franchise is named after him and Blizzard can sell Diablo a lot better if the generic gamer who may have not played D1 or D2 if they think "Ohhhhh, so in Diablo you have to kill Diablooooooo"

Why can't a heterosexual guy tell a heterosexual guy that he thinks his booty is fly?
I would believe so, the reason is because I am sure they will be in Diablo 3 as Boss fights. My Theory is that I think that the new Evil that spreads across Sanctuary will revive the 3 Prime Evils as Trial Fights, only when you finished fighting the 3 prime evils will you be able to fight the end BOSS, but like I sad its only a theory
Izual revealed this to be false, during Act IV.
It was merely a trick so that Tyrael would use the soulstones on the Prime Evils.
While that appears to be the case, there is nothing to say that Azmodan and Belial haven't since abandoned the original plan to truly try and take over Hell. Or that they even knew they were being duped to begin with.
PlugY for Diablo II allows you to reset skills and stats, transfer items between characters in singleplayer, obtain all ladder runewords and do all Uberquests while offline. It is the only way to do all of the above. Please use it.
Supporting big shoulderpads and flashy armor since 2004.
I think it would be interesting if one of the primes found a commonality of goal with the heroes to stop the lesser evils from conquering Hell. It would compliment the heavy focus on aiding the Heavens in Diablo II, in my opinion, although it would be kinda predictable.

If you could find where it was confirmed that'd be great.

I'm hoping to see a Big Daddy, but I doubt it.
Like in bioshock?
I just hope the storyline is good makes it more storyline focused than grind grind grind for perfect character

I have a feeling Blizzard are too old for this :/
They know what works, I have severe doubts about seeing anything truly new in d3.
