i bought an 1132 xbow last night with 18% IAS for 1 mil.
Worth the mil or bad buy?
secondly, is crit chance on quiver more important than max disc ?
i swapped out a quiver with 9 max disc for one that had more dex, crit chance, 14% ias, worth the swap out?
Not bad for dps but you need to have more stats when you start buying more expensive bows. As far as max discipline goes I think that is a very important stat in the higher inferno levels. I use smokescreen alot to keep me from getting killed by one or two hits on act 3 and to protect me from reflect damage.
I got all the way through A3 with a 950 xbow, so you're going to be more than set with that one. Max discipline is pretty awesome and extremely noticeable for Glass Cannons, so it's hard for me to give that up in favor of crit.

wat. A weapon is the first thing you should spend millions on. You got an OK deal with the one you have. The next weapon you buy (whenever that may be) should be 1250-1300 DPS or more, possibly with a socket, so you're looking at 6-10 mil for your next upgrade.
Max discipline is helpful when you're gearing up, but becomes less helpful as you become more geared. When you're doing more damage, things die faster, so you need to rely on SS less. Keep the other quiver for a while and see if you find yourself needing to SS more than you're able to. If so, switch back to the discipline quiver.

Where do you see a 1250-1300 dps bow with a socket for 6-10m? Honestly, it's more on the 25-100m mark right now. Without a socket, yeah around that price range.
I wish I got that 1400 dps bow that sold for 4m like 2 weeks ago. OH well!

Hence the word 'possibly' :P. I'm just saying a weapon is almost always the biggest DPS upgrade, so it's worth saving a while to get a very good one. 1200 DPS should be around 3 mil or so, and can hold you off until you save up for the big guns.
since we're on the subject of crossbows, was my purchase of a 969 DPS crossbow (544-950 damage) 18% IAS 52 Dex and an open socket for 115k a good purchase?

I've found people often overlook xbows with +crit damage. They'll spend big bucks for the 1250dps socketed crossbows, but no one will buy the 1050dps socketed xbow with +100% crit damage, even though they might be better.

A 1250 with a socket is lightyears ahead of a 1050 with 100% and no socket. It isn't even close.

Read what I wrote again. 1050dps + socket + 100% crit.
I farmed one the other day and couldn't get anyone to buy it. Got a socketed 1250, which was less damage, but sold immediately. Silly people.
to me i dont think any item should be over 1mil or for that matter any item over 20mil. to me everything should be below 1mil . all these items for 1 mil or more. wtf lol. i guess it could be cause i dont play till my fingers fall off or something. it takes me forever to get 1 mil lol. its not a bash at anyone, i just think the prices on these items are ridiculous

The problem with upgrading your weapon as a DH is when you reach the 1k dps weapon threashold with a socket.
I dunno about Us server but on EU, the price for a 1k dps with socket or equivalent (having a 966 DPS with 98% crit) is roughly 1 million gold.
If you want to have a decent upgrade like a 1100 DPS weapon with socket or equivalent it will cost you at least 7 millions !!
Waiting for the inferno level nerf and more people looting this kind of stuff will help lowering the price for sure.
Just don't buy any wepon at the moment higher than 1k DPS with socket this is pointless unless you are very rich
Not bad for dps but you need to have more stats when you start buying more expensive bows.

I wasn't saying that he shouldn't spend millions on a weapon. What I meant was that he should look for a weapon with more than one stat when he upgrades next time. My bow has dex, vit, +dmg, and a socket. You want to get the most for your money when you are spending 2 mil+

The DPS is all that matters. If a bow has Dex, you factor that into your decision with the help of the spreadsheet. Sockets aren't required and are extremely expensive. The total DPS gain you get is important, how you get it is irrelevant. Whether it be extra stats on the bow, or raw damage, or a socket.

If you can afford it you should take advantage of getting a stat on a bow. I think it is a waste of money to spend 2+mil on a bow with only one or 2 stats. I agree that your overall DPS is all that matters, but you limit how much you can upgrade your character if you waste an opportunity on a better upgrade. If you don't get max discipline, for example, you can only make that stat up on your chest armor and quiver. I understand that bows are expensive, but I figured that if you are spending 6-10 mil as you suggested, why waste that on a bow with just one or two stats.

A bow with one or two stats isn't a waste of it gives you 10k DPS. A bow with only +damage that gives 10k DPS is superior in every way to a bow with Dex, Crit and a socket that only gives 9k DPS (after all things are considered). You spend as much as you can on whatever weapon gives you the most DPS.
Max Discipline loses value as your DPS increases, and the only other relevant stat on weapons is +Crit. But since +Crit only affects DPS, we're back to the fact that the highest DPS is what matters, the stats don't.

When your DPS is high enough you don't need the extra discipline, at that point +Elemental Arrow Damage and Crit are what you want in a Quiver.
