  • Convention of Elements

Full 6 of 7 piece set for Tal Rasha's Elements, with a Topaz in the Helm, all Topaz in the Torso, and either all Topaz in the Legs for offense or all Diamonds for defense. Secondary affix priority for equipment is either resource cost reduction or maximum Arcane Power.

Legendary Gems are for damage and defense support. Taeguk for damage and Armor bonus while channeling, Bane of the Trapped for extra damage from Slow and Stun effects and Molten Wildebeest's Gizzard for healing and health shielding. Taeguk can be swapped for Zei's Stone of Vengeance for further increased damage and Stun chance.

For Amulet choices, Tal Rasha's Adjudication is the main choice, though a Hellfire Amulet with Blur or Astral Presence, or the Ess of Johan would be solid alternatives. This would require however swapping out the used Source, so it would affect DPS capability. For Rings, Manald Heal is the foremost damage boost for the build aside from Convection of Elements, Wyrdward supports the Stun generation from Lightning damage to work with Paralysis and thus Manald Heal,Halo of Karini with Storm Armor, and of course Unity for all around defense.

Mantle of Channeling works with Taeguk for an offensive and defensive boost while channeling, and Nilfur's Boast supports the damage of Meteor, both the used skill and the free ones from the Tal Rasha's 2 piece bonus.

For Bracers, Nemesis Bracers work for speed-running Rifts, Ancient Parthan Defenders for increased defense off of Stunned enemies.

For Belts, Tal Rasha's Brace is required, again swapping out Sources if using another belt, such as Hergbrash's Binding directly.

The weapons are rather set to make the build work, Deathwish to boost all damage while channeling and Primordial Soul to double the incoming damage increase to enemies from the Elemental Exposure passive. Shard of Hate with a Poison damage affix however would grant three additional damage dealing attacks for free on every skill cast however, making up a bit of DPS if used instead of Deathwish.

The Cubed items reinforce the build's main structure, Etched Sigil boosting all damage while channeling and randomly casting all other equipped Arcane Power spenders at the targeted enemy for free. Hergbrash's Binding reduces all channeled skill costs by up to 65%, and Convection of Elements for the full 200% damage boost to all elemental damage in rotation.

Paragon of 1000 and above is required to push past GR75 range, Maximum Arcane Power total as first priority, then Intelligence for damage and elemental resistance and Vitality for health total. Movement Speed is lowest priority compared to the others, but it always helps.

Attack Speed for faster channeling and casting, Critical Hit Chance and Damage to round out damage dealing ability. Cooldown Reduction doesn't apply to the build.

Life Regeneration for healing, Armor and Resist All for defense and then Life total.

Resource Cost Reduction for better channeling and casting, Life on Hit for healing and Area Damage to round out damage dealing ability. Gold Find isn't applicable to the build.

Build Guide

This build has been tested in 2.6.1 on PS4 and PC.

The focus of the build works on a variable damage range, able to deal effectively with enemies up close or at a distance. Using a main channeled skill for outgoing damage while secondary skills are triggered at the channeled target. Using Deathwish and/or Etched Sigil maintains the outgoing channeled damage and more importantly, increases the damage of non-channeled skills as well to maintain an all-around boost with the Tal Rasha's 6 piece damage bonus.

Arcane Torrent with the Static Discharge rune deals Lightning damage and is the channeled skill that supports the build. Energy Twister with the Raging Storm rune for Arcane damage, the twisters able to merge to double their damage and extend their duration, Blizzard with the Unrelenting Storm rune to boost the Ice damage and extend the duration of the skill, and then Meteor with the Meteor Shower rune for Fire damage. The last one allows the build every rune of Meteor for free thanks to the Tal Rasha's 2 piece and the effects of Etched Sigil, granted on all associated elemental attacks with an 8 second cooldown for each elemental type.

Magic Weapon with the Conduit rune grants an additional 10% to base weapon damage and the rune grants all attacks the ability to generate 3 Arcane Power on hit. This allows the build to maintain semi-stable Arcane Power levels even when actively spending it on skills along with the free casts from Etched Sigil. For defensive measures, the original set up for the build used Energy Armor with the Force Armor rune to grant the build 35% additional Armor and the rune itself reduces any damage over 35% total Life down to 35%, though it won't reduce any damage that exceeds 100% of total Life. The more heavy damage focused version uses Storm Armor instead, with Reactive Armor to ensure extra Lightning damage to attacking ranged or melee enemies, thus more chances to proc Stun effects and trigger damage from Manald Heal. This also makes Halo of Karini a much more viable defensive option than Unity would be, and putting it down to player preference whether to go all offense with Wyrdward for more Stun effects, or defensive with Halo of Karini for survivability.

The passives help with a bit of everything, in particular the Elemental Exposure passive granting increased damage with multiple elements to work with the bonuses from Tal Rasha's and Convection of Elements. Paralysis grants Stun effects on Lightning damage, proccing Bane of the Trapped and/or Manald Heal. Unwavering Will boosts Armor and elemental resistances along with damage while stationary, perfect for using channeling skills, and Unstable Anomaly for survival under heavy damage.
