Halo of Karini
Often dubbed "Bomberman/Bomberlady" This build is designed for a flexible approach. You can solo with it, or you can group with it - without having to change much.
I run both Neph and Greater rifts in the 60-110 range, depending on my own or friends' needs.
The idea of the build is you are using a multitude of elements to stack up the set bonus and rain down a stupid amount of free meteors.
As such:
Ray of Frost is REQUIRED.
Arcane Torrent is REQUIRED.
Storm Armour is REQUIRED.
Meteor is REQUIRED.
Magic Weapon with Deflection benefits from Ashnagarr's Blood Bracer.
You have Frost, Arcane, Fire, Lightning damage there.
Consider that 6-piece Tal Rasha set bonus.
Consider that Elemental Exposure passive.
PASSIVES:
Elemental Exposure is REQUIRED.
Power Hungry. Multiplicative bonus. Very nice if you can maintain the distance.
Galvanizing Ward. Aids in survivability. You are squishy. Benefits from Ashnagarr's Blood Bracer.
Illusionist. The teleport reset is very nice.
Other Considerations:
Audacity. The idea is to keep enemies away, but if you find yourself often swamped, this may be a good choice.
Unwavering Will. Nice, but when you need to start moving about to reposition and avoid craptons of area and environment spells and attacks, becomes useless.
Unstable Anomaly. Think of this one as "Training Wheels"
The combo of items used will shower meteors no matter the spell you are using on your toolbar. (left click, 1 and 2)
Right click for those OH SHI- moments. Teleport should reset in a serious OH SHI- moment thanks to the passive you picked.
GEAR:
Ring of Royal Grandeur is used so you only need five set pieces of Tal Rasha's gear. Stop using Unity in top end builds. Just stop.
This frees up a slot so you can 'quip in something else.
I personally prefer Hergbrash's Binding (Waist). My Arcane Power regenerates stupidly fast, and means I have zero downtime.
Other considerations:
The Witching Hour (Waist) - What is a diablofans build without this belt?
Hellfire Amulet (Amulet) - Additional Passive is always nice.
Dark Mage's Shade (Helm) - Added survivability. Benefits from Ashnagarr's Blood Bracer.
The best bracers in the cube: Ashnagarr's Blood Bracer. You want the max bonus from this item - so in the cube it goes.
I swap my Ancient Parthan Defenders out for Nemesis Bracers or Strongarm Bracers. Depends on the difficulty of the Rift and what gems I've swapped out.
Aquilia Curiass in the middle slot? And just equip Ashnagarr's Blood Bracer on your character?
Sure if you are super conservative and keep your resource above 90% and are letting copious amounts of mobs hit you enough to get through your shields. Go for it. Or play the class clever and keep yourself the hell away from mobs - max the potential of your gems and abilities and put something freaking useful in there.
GEMS:
Baseline:
Zei's Stone of Vengeance. This is your core gem. Your spells are ranged. You are raining down a plenteous amount of meteors. the stun is going to proc generously.
High Tier:
Bane of the Stricken. High healthpool mobs are going to require this gem from you. The bonus versus bosses and rift guardians is essential in high tier.
Mid Tier:
Swap Bane of the Stricken for Bane of the Powerful.
Third Gem:
Esoteric Alteration is excellent for resistances. Arcane Beams and swamps of poison can fast become an issue even for ranged casters.
Taeguk is a good solid choice also, as you will be channeling a lot.
Mirinae, Teardrop of the Starweaver procs a hell of a lot and is an underestimated gem. I personally love this gem.
Gem of Effacious Toxin is a nice gem too, but if you're in higher content, it's likely a support player will be running this gem and they don't stack.
Bane of the Trapped is worth considering also.

CORE:
I just don't bother with vitality. If something has gotten through my shields it's my own carelessness that is to blame, and a few points here are going to make ZERO difference. Stack Intellect once the other two are full (Speed/Resource)
Build Guide
Get in, shield up, weapon up.
Stand back, spam left click, 1 and 2 in cycle in the general direction of the enemy. Sit back, enjoy the slaughter.
An additional tip, at least for people with such a keyboard layout as mine is to to bind "Force Stand" to the key to the left of 1 and above tab. that way holding your mouse button down and just pressing that button will trigger the arcane missiles.
I like the build, but I have a few questions. Currently on GR 86, looking to go higher but I have been using Aquila Cuirass for the 50% damage reduction as well as RoF so that I can stay above 90% resource. How are you activating defense of APD? With teleport? If so, wouldn't that negate Zei's damage as well as Power Hungry? It's not always easy to keep mobs at range while channeling for me, any tips on how to utilize the "keep them at range" aspect of the build?
I use a variation with Aquila and I wear Ashnaggar's. Using RoF I can kekep the Aquila buff up most of the run while using bane of the trapped for increase damage within 15 yards.
Thanks!
