Normal Gems: Diamonds in helm/chest/pants. Can use Amethyst in helm if you wish

Legendary Gems: Gogok and Pain Enhancer can be used insteas of Esoteric if you will not die often. Gogok is all-around good for IAS, some CDR for WoTB as well as DODGE. Pain Enhancer will greatly boost your attack speed in density and as result = faster Charges and more stacks genenrated in shorter period of time.

Gear: You can try to drop Aquilas Cuirass for either Magefist or Strongarms Bracers for more damage.

If you don't have Istvan's then there are two ways to play:

1) TWO any fast high-dps one-handers like Pig Sticker or Burning Axe of Sankis

2) Gavel equipped + Furnace cubed.

Build Guide

Raekor is a very cool way to play Hammer of the Ancients and is actually a tonn of fun, much more fun than with classic IK HOTA tbh. The damage is also impressive and it's veeeery close to IK HOTA itself, just different.

A few tips:

1) Stack CDR and area damage, both are good, but i would prioritize Area Damage since WOTB is already insanely long to wait anyway.

2) Get at least one LIFE ON HIT roll on a weapon or Bracer, this will give you recovery while Charging across the mobs.

How do you play?

a) Start building Charge stacks, aggro density and elites

make sure to charge WHERE YOU STAND (practically on single target), not across the packs (like with classic IK/R Charger). This way you will be getting stacks really fast

c) Make sure you have your buffs up before FIRE rotation roll in

d) during FIRE rotation start spending CHARGES with HAMMER OF THE ANCIENTS, specifically inside a dense pack and towards ELITE. You gotta be really close since HOTA aoe is small.
