"I've seen your death.. it was painful."

First of all: definitely not a build for you if you are looking for high damage output. There are plenty builds out there that do a way better job at that.

Not everyone is used to see a Time Wizard, so tell your allies what you can do and what they need to do. And the only thing they really need to do is, especially ranged characters, stay in the bubble.

Your role is to give your allies that extra 'oomph' and protection with Slow Time when they are killing Elites, making their job easier without worrying about incoming projectiles they have to dodge. Even if one of your allies gets hit, the damage would be reduced by 30% thanks to Delsere's Magnum Opus set.

Core:

  • Movement Speed is most important since we lack mobility. We may be Time Wizards but when it comes to moving, we are pretty slow. Intelligence speaks for itself.
  • More intelligence, more damage.
  • Maximum Resource is not that important, but it's good to have. Slow Time is a non-cost skill so spamming it won't affect our Arcane power.
  • Vitality - the idea of this build is not to get hit. If you have no problems maintaining your Arcane power, you can take Vitality instead or split it.

Offense:

  • Cooldown Reduction, You can never have enough of this stat. Your allies are relying on you to protect them with bubbles.
  • Attack speed to fire Magic Missiles faster so you regain Arcane power quicker.
  • Critical Hit Chance, not the most important stat for us. But always comes in handy.
  • Critical Hit Damage, same as critical hit chance.

Defense:

  • Life will give us more health, with all the projectiles flying around we still have one thing to worry about. AoE damage. Mortars, arcane lasers, thunder fields. These monster attacks are not affected by the projectile slow of your bubble. Really annoying if one those one hit insta kills you, right?
  • Resist All, pretty much the same as Life, we need a bit of protection against AoE attacks.
  • Armor, not that useful in this build because melee attackers shouldn't be able to approach you and projectiles shouldn't be able to hit you.
  • Life Regeneration, the amount it gives on max rank is pretty low.

Utility:

  • Resource Cost Reduction, your Time Slow skill might be free to cast, but spamming Arcane Orb can be pretty resource eating.
  • Area Damage, honestly not really important. I just took it because it is better than the following two.
  • Life on Hit, just like the Life Generation on Defense Paragon it's pretty lackluster. Doesn't feel like it's doing a lot.
  • Gold Find. I will simply say meh.

Build Guide

"There is no angry way to say: bubbles."

If there is one thing I have always loved about Wizards is the Slow Time skill. It's an useful skill and a lot of fun to use. Yes it feels like a fire-and-forget move but seeing those slow moving fireballs, arrows and javelins coming your way and simply walking past them is one the best feelings I have ever had and continue to have. With the full Delsere's Magnum Opus set and most importantly Crown of the Primus headgear you will receive the following buffs for yourself and allies and debuffs for your enemies:

  • Allies (including you) inside gain 15% increased attack speed.
  • Allies inside gain 30% damage reduction.
  • When you are inside you gain 60% damage reduction.
  • Enemies inside will deal 25% less damage.
  • Enemies inside will take 15% more damage.
  • Enemies inside are slowed by 80%.
  • Enemies that try to get into/out the bubble are stunned for 5 seconds.

"I'll poke your eye out - face off? How does this thing even work?"

Wrists

  • Ashaggar's Blood Bracer: Increases your personal shields. Especially useful combined Magic Weapon Deflection skill and Galvanizing Ward passive.
  • Nemesis Bracers: I recommend to use this one if you are doing rifts with other people and none of them use this. If no one in your team has it let them know you have this one equipped so you can activate pillars and pylons to spawn elite enemies.
  • Ancient Parthan Defenders: Combined with the Slow Time No Point of Return rune this will give you a nasty amount of damage reduction each time an enemy wants to get in or out of your bubble.

Belts

  • The Shame of Delsere: It's a great belt for dealing quick damage and most of all getting your Arcane power to full in no-time (I should really stop with these puns).
  • Jang's Envelopment: Wouldn't be my first choice but I guess it's alright for keeping enemies at bay.
  • The Witching Hour: Added this if you don't have the other two belts. It increases your damage and has a lot of potential good stats.

Kanai's Cube

  • Still deciding if In-geom would be better or Gesture of Orpheus. In-geom works for all of your skills, while Gesture of Orpheus reduces your cooldown on Slow Time by almost half. This allows you to create a lot of bubbles.

"Some things do get better in time."

I am still updating up this guide on a daily basis, if work allows me that is. A few tips/recommendations:

  • Still trying to figure out if I should take In-Geom or keep with Gesture of Orpheus in Kunai's cube.
  • Always place a Slow Time before using your offensive abilities. Slow Time should be off cooldown most of the time (pun unintended), so happy spamming!
  • Do not take Mirror Images skill. The clones will create a version of Slow Time that is not affected by your DOM set. Also it can cause a lot of confusion. Better to leave the bubble casting in your own hands.
  • You can switch out Teleport Calamity for Teleport Wormhole if you need that extra mobility.
  • Black Hole can be changed for anything you like. I just like to use to cluster all enemies together so my allies can easily kill whole groups.
  • Temporal Flux passive is not necessary. Other recommended passives are: Power Hungry, Prodigy and Galvanizing Wand.
