I think Simplicity's Strength should work better then Mirinae.
Why are you making use of Blood is Power? Haven't played the necro that much yet, but you only have one skill that costs HP to cast. Or am I missing something?
I can understand why you would think that but its not the case. See simplicity str only works with the generator which is not the main dps of the build. The Mirinae gem smites a mob every 3 sec plus it has a chance to smite on hit and it heals when it does. Its smites deal increased damage because of the set bonus and they happen more often because of pain enhancer increasing your attack speed (making bone storm and your other attacks faster). Mirinae works with all hits not just primary so anything getting in range is getting hit from bonestorm + scythe + any corpse lances. Taking the fact that there are 3 total damage dealing skills on this build using simplicity str only works with the 1. So even if simplicity str would give more hp in the end (not convinced it would but its possible) you would lose a ton of dps overall and its not worth it. That being said its your toon do what you want with it and have fun :). Honestly though not sure legers distain works with the build since it only buffs if it gives you essence (meaning if you are at full essence you wont get any buff) you only need to cast the bone armor once every min so you dont cast it often and there are no other skills you can use that cost anything except decripify but that is only there so the cursed scythe knows what curse to apply (its not something you ever need to cast like that). Meaning you will almost never get essence from the skill to get the dps boost making it useless and having a 2h weapon always gives more dps then 1h weapon. In order to fix this you would have to cast bone armor more often out of land of the dead and that would ruin aquilia buff anyway so its really not worth it. If you must have a 1h weapon you are better off going with wall of man or lidless wall but they better be stacked for offense to compensate for the fact that you are losing a ton of it by not using Reilena's Shadowhook in your hand while having the 1 you are currently using on in the cube.
Quick question: Why Unity for the other ring?
Vs blues, yellows, purples, same order but add LotD then spam lance. That's basically the combo.
Important to note with overwhelming essence + 50 essence from paragon + 10 or more from gear gets you 150%+ damage boost from shadowhook, but also give you 30 essence to use at your discretion before you're under 90% for Aquila's. You can start a fight casting decrepify to force the damage reduction from your belt and set them up to be stunned from the start helping to proc your bracers, you can (and should) also cast bone armor on cool down because its cheap, is boosted by multiple set effects, the stun triggers 3x damage from krysbin's and you can cover the cost of either ability with a single hit from your grim scythe which is then boosted by 100-300% from leger's disdain (whether or not that makes it worth using instead of hook main is probably dependent on if you actively wanna stack/weave with armor/curse still might be better over all dps with a 2h).
@y0himba Its a solo build so he uses unity with his follower who has an invincible item on so its just a 50% reduction (though I've heard you can take damage from the link if your follower stands in dot's).
Is Pain Enhancer better than Wreath of Lightning? Bone Tornado seems to proc Mirinae pretty often. I am guessing the tornado benefits from attack speed?
As far as I know it does just like it effects monks sweeping wind and similar skills. That being said attack speed will probably not deal as much dps as some other stats such as cc/chd (so dont go out of the way to find attack speed on gear) and the main point of that gem is the bleed damage itself which deals massive damage per tic and does multiple tics per second. Because of the 6 set bonus instead of doing the damage it says on the gem it instead takes that damage + the extra 2750% damage added by the set and thats not even counting the bonuses from BotT (becasue if they are close enough to get hit by you the aura of bane of trapped is slowing them) or any of the other legendaries that boost dps (putting it all down here is to much work when you can just read through every item/ability to see them all yourself and do the math that way). The increased attack speed is just a bonus that allows you to curse them faster and possibly making them bleed lol.
Why Leger's Disdain? We are always capped off on essence which is why Aquila is in here. Does it still benefit? Otherwise Lost Time still boosts via Corpse rune and Land rune, proccing Bane of the Trapped.
From my understanding it is better to use Reilinas and cube Trag's. The 2h damage increasing the bone storm dps while the pain enhancer increases your attack speed enough to get sufficient mirinae procs still. The offhand doesn't do anything when not restoring essence.

For those looking to push grift you are better off using the 2 handed scythe that is in the cube on this build in your hands and putting the 1 handed weapon shown in the hands in the cube (lose the off hand). The off hand shown in the build requires you to have essence missing when you attack to get the bonus dps for that attack but a 2 handed weapon will have you do more dps because they roll with better/higher stats (meaning you get the high dps at all times regardless how much essence you have). If you need proof simply look at the in game leaderboards for necromancer grift solo and check the gear of the people on top. That being said everything else in the build (stats, gear, gems, etc.) is fine.
I have tried both builds out with comparable quality gear and I prefer the one listed here. I am able to grind higher and much safer than with the 2-handed build. I can do speed GRs with much more toughness and recovery and rarely ever die, which leads to more legendary gem upgrades.
If I happen to be playing with someone else, what should I use in place of Unity?
Do you think that replacing Bane of the trapped with Gogok of swiftness would be a good idea? the CDR would kinda be a benefit to this build considering Land of the dead has a high cool down.
Why are there 2 of the exact same build on the top 6 lineup.....
