Build Guide
Rotation:
- Keep up Energy Armor and Magic Weapon
- Have 3 Tal'Rasha stacks from Arcane Torrent / Teleport / Frost Nova before you enter Archon
- Morph into Archon (this will give you the 4th Tal'Rasha stack)
- Kill enemies with Archon Desintegration (right mouse button)
- Keep distance from enemies to proc your Zeis' / Starfire / Power Hungry
- Try to kill 1-2 elite packs before Archon ends
This is a variant of the known Vyr'Rasha Build, which combines the new Manald Heal with a few range-multilpliers. The damage is just insane - in the video i didnt use Zeis' nor i spent any paragons on mainstat and it absolutely crushes T13.
Update:
- Changed Prismatic Armor to Force Armor to prevent getting oneshot at higher tier GR's
- Changed stat priority on Amulet to Intelligence (instead of Lightning%) due to the Lightning% bug - keep in mind you have to have one Lightning% roll on Bracers whatsoever to make Archon deal Lightning damage
LordFluffy made a great video, explaining the important things of the build in detail. The video can be found here.
Thanks @LordFluffy!
+1 sick build
Lets get this build onto first page
(I can't believe that nobody has upvoted or commented on this gem of a build yet)
I'm kinda bored of explaining people the Archon/Vyr/Rasha combination but there you go...
If you use Combustion (the Fire Rune) and have your highest element on gear something other than fire (lightning in this case) then you can actually activate 2 Tal Rasha Elements only via Archon. For this build then you only need 1 cold-skill (e.g. ray of frost - sleet storm) and 1 arcane-skill (tp - calamity).
You just freed up 1 skill slot. Replace frost nova with Familiar-Sparkflint or anything you like. Maybe Spellsteal for higher speedgrifts?
Probably the last time I explained this. Nobody uses this little "feature" despite the fact I feel like I've already shared this hundreds of times
Already informed Blizzard about that months ago, but it seems they don't care about that since it has very little impact. Obviously this is not working as intended if you think about it...
Hi Maniax_83,
1) I have to admit that I wasn't on the PTR ever for this next patch. So I have no clue about build variations on your particular build here.
However since it's an In-Geom speedbuild I assumed that we spend the usual global cooldown ~1 second out of Archon (including 62.6%+ CDR).
So like in all other Archon speedrift torment builds you only quickly activate your skills to get 4 TR stacks and enter Archon again.
So every damage outside Archon is neglectable, and if you're outside Archon you're doing something wrong.
I can't wrap my head around how it's possibly viable to spend more time outside of Archon on purpose like you mentioned (without obsidian), but as I said if that's the case then sorry...
2) Like I explained before you should only be outside of Archon for 1 second at max. You only activate your Setbonus and re-enter Archon. It doesnt matter if you use Static Discharge or any other skill/element. I know it's the fastest but somehow this is not relevant here for a In-Geom speedbuild.
If we're talking about a variation without In-Geom and maybe Furnace instead in cube for higher grifts then by the way, if you wanna know how to reset cooldowns even faster than only with Static Discharge you can look up my FB Teleport Build. This technique somehow is probably also viable for a Manald Heal Lightning Build.
Regarding the Combustion rune, yeah that might be the case as you describe it, however it makes absolutely no sense, is very counter intuitive and tbh frankly nobody knows that and is building their standard Vyr/Rasha Archon wrong simply because of that fact
That's why I already mentioned it so often on different platforms.
Look up at the top wiz builds with the most upvotes. All I can say is, that it's flawed. So flawed builds getting spreaded is actually very common, you know
And sorry mate, I know I might sound a bit rude. It's just that I'm a little bit annoyed by the spreaded false information around the community. No offense, I definitely will try the build out myself when it's live.
Since when Archon does not use the Elemental Damage from the selected Rune? Oo
There is no change to see in Changelogs.
The highest Elemental% is just used by Chantodo because there you can't select any Rune to change the Element.
Do you have some offical sources where you got the Info that Archon is ignorre the Element from it's Runes?
You did it maniax you are on the first page!
Congratulations!!
Exactly the wizard build I was looking for!
how do you keep talrasha 4stacks while in archon?
i can only reset the duration once it seems and then im just left with only archon and no talrasha
If you read the 6 piece bonus. Your 4 stacks will last 8 seconds. Each elemental damage type you then do within that 8 second window will extend it further by 2 additional seconds.
Since you get your 4th stack when you pop Archon (combustion), the only other elemental damage type you will do for the remaining 8 seconds will be Lightning damage (Archon elemental alignment). So you will get +2 additional seconds. So 10 seconds total @ 4 stacks.
So when you pop Archon, which lasts 20 seconds. Only half of that time will be @ 4 stacks, and the remaining time will be @ 1 stack. So for half the duration of your Archon, you will lose a 2,250% damage modifier (multiplicative?), which is pretty significant, and you can really feel it when it drops down to 1 stack.
Does anyone know what the internal cooldown is for manald ring proc? I assume it cannot proc more than once on the same mob within a certain period of time?
for some reason everytime after a while of playing when i go into solo content my desintegrate ray in archon stops dealing damage even with 100+ arch stacks and 4tal stacks just because it a. does not seem to hit and b. it never crits.
is this a bug or am i doing something wrong here, i have 54,5% crit chance..
:edit:
so ok i just did a 75 and died about 10times cause my ray wouldnt crit on any elites and i get to the RG and i melted it with only 70 arch stacks in under a second.
this has to be bugged right?
there is no way i take up to 20seconds to kill an elite while im keeping my distance for my passives and zeis stone to do more dmg because the ray will simply not hit more then once a second without critting while on a boss it just melts it like it regularely should.
Hello, how u apply tal rasha stacks in archont form? and why u have Lighting damage in archont with combust? i dont have dat damage and procks in archont :C
I get this almost every rift, i'll melt the first pack and then when i pop into archon again with all my buffs up i'll be doing exactly 0 damage while holding the disintegration wave directly on the elite pack, this doing 0 damage seems to continue until i finally proc paralasys after which i'll start doing damage again.
I guess this means you only do damage from paralysis + manald for 1.5seconds after you've procced it and my chance to proc it being 15% probably just means it never really procs when i need it too.
Thanks a lot for the guide!
I don't like the fact that Frost Nova leeches procs from Zodiac. I switched to Glacial Spike. It is a bit slower to cast, but also free, has no cooldown and is even a viable choice in GR speed runs.
Great build, I get a lot of questions about this build in stream so I thought I'd make a video guide to supplement this written guide. HERE
hey there, me again.
I ended up playing (and also for pushing) with this build. But my initial thoughts about ray of frost proven me right from my tests.
Still I need to test the energy twister raslors folly variant but as of now I don't understand static discharge being in there (just for the faster reset possiblity).
More important to me is that static discharge makes mobs immune to paralysis stun when it's most important (after the usage...)
I just run slow time (which btw doubles it's effect when overlapped from normal form and archon form) to comfortably reset archon with ray of frost (however i use cold blooded, so despite all those videos i found online. i have no problems at all with 4 apoc to never run dry!)
Nice build, i based mine mostly of yours too. For T11-13 i reccomend the avarice and boon combo and for GR's i like to use convention instead of zodiac ring once your used to the build. I dont think the gogok gem is very good for this build either, I usually swap between boon of hoarder for T-rifts and bane of powerful for GR speeds and its working very well.
