For those of you who don't know me i am a massive nerd and have been playing the 2.1 PTR religiously since its been up.
Speaking as a monk with multiple rank 1 titles for every season of the PTR, This has given me some insight into what builds work for higher GR's and builds that don't.
Legendary gems used:
Gorok of Swiftness (required)
Gem of Efficacious Toxin (10% Party buff)
Zei's Stone of Vengeance (20% stun)
Amazing thing about this spec:
135% Uptime on Epiphany (~4 sec overlap)
162% Uptime on Inner Sanc (~2.3 sec overlap)
>>108% Uptime<< on Serenity: Ascension (~.31 sec overlap) <--- Immortality
*values with max 81.55% CDR*
Basic game-play strategy:
Spam your serenity for near invulnerability (small downtime after first serenity before your gem has stacked to 15% CDR) - then run ahead grouping the mobs ~ pulling them into a good position for your buddies so they can kill them from a safe distance, then damage amp the mobs (by up to 146%)!
Skill variations:
Mantra of conviction - Overawe (more group damage, less control)
Mantra of salvation - Agility (less group damage, small group buff)
Epiphany - Insight (if you have a xephirian amulet and a good internet connection)
Cyclone strike - Wall of wind (more crowd control, smaller pull radius)
Passive variations(+hellfire bonus):
Resolve (less personal survivability, small group buff)
Unity (small group buff, only viable if using MoC)
Exalted Soul (helps with spirit regen when using desert shroud)
Stat Priority:
Helm: Socket=Leoric Crown %>Vit
Shoulders: CDR>Vit>RCR
Torso: x3 Sockets>11% Elite damage reduction (secondary: 7% Melee dmg reduction)
Legs: x2 Sockets
Gloves: CDR>Vit
Rings: CDR>Socket
Waist: CDR>15% Health
Wrist: 30% Strong arm Roll>Vit (secondary: 7% Melee dmg reduction)
Amulet: CDR>Socket>18% Life>Vit
Weapons: CDR>RCR>Vit
You want secondary resist on all your pieces(where possible).
Paragon Point priority:
Core: Cap Movement speed>Vit
Offence: CDR>Attkspeed
Defense: Armour>All Res>Life>LPS
Utility: LoH=RCR
Important note:
You need MAX rolled CDR on, Ring x2, Necklace, Gloves, Shoulders, Belt, Helmet(gem), Weapons x2. You should end up with 81.55% CDR(including gem stacks + paragons).

I was very tired when making this build! Insight is the proper rune you should use for Epiphany! You can have multiple inner sancs down, but the effect doesn't stack! I also edited the build to incorporate borns chest/shoulders, for a sledge fist!
PRetty good build overall. I use something similar but I don't think that build is viable for greater rift 43-44-45. Overawe is required. In greater rift 45 we hit a wall because we don't have enough dps.. surviability is not a problem

EDIT: Yap, been playing with my bros on the US servers - with 200MS electrified proves to be very lethal...
i love the sunwukos buld so i decided to level another monk and try this one for group play. i have all the gear for this build but im wondering a few things.
what is the stat priority on the gear, what gems for gear, the correct play style of this build. thanks

What are you thoughts on dropping the RoRG and using a Born's weapon. And also dropping the Frostburn, because there are no 'chill' effects which do not also freeze.
I was also wondering if serenity applied to mystic ally, and if it did, could you run the healing epiphany with air ally, to provide extra support 100k life/second to the group.

it procs off the cold damage range of weapons (i.e if you rolled sledge fist to cold damage, or just used a azurwrath which naturally rolls cold damage etc.)
crowd control > attack speed
I am slowly trying to collect all the pieces for this build. I got a RoRG and came with a 7% CDR before any stat re-roll and got a Leoric Crown with 100% perfect roll on it. Would these + max roll on other equipment (other than the RoRG) still be viable to get the .31 second overlap for Serenity? Ideally I want to just roll a socket on my RoRG.

CDR scales in an exponential fashion! and every last % carries its weight in value! you want to hit the CDR cap asap~

With epiphany on 15 sec CD and the Halycon's Ascent dance move lasting about 10 seconds on normal mobs, it's quite an overpowered CC.
I've made a video of repeated serenty activation with 99% leoric and 1% CDR missing on gear with stacked gogok (about 81.5% CDR), latency about 100ms. Theoretically its 300 ms overlap, character info numbers differ from theoretical by 0.02-0.04%, less than 10 ms, activation provided overlap only once in 10 samples by margin of 2 frames, with 150 ms on cooldown on average, up to 300. I've held down serenty button and clicked crippling wave about 5 times per second. Cooldown timer position and serenity's effect was a bit different sometimes on a first frame of its activation, so I guess it maybe becoming active some time before visualy indicating.
I go over tsunami in my video ~ it's really personal preference between more damage or CC.
In most cases the damage amp will be better~
