Build Guide
This build is a lot of fun, does tons of damage and has great mobility for fast and efficient rifting.
This build can be used in hardcore or softcore. I currently use it in hardcore, but it works equally well in either.
There are 3 fire skills on the tool bar for use while outside of Archon in order to Ignite mobs and thereby gain Firebird stacks. The Combustion rune of Archon is used also so that Firebird stacks can continue to be gained while in Archon form.
2 pieces of Vyrs is used with 5 pieces of Firebirds and Ring of Royal Grandeur. By incorporating 2p Vyrs into the gearing all runes of Archon are gained. This reduces the cooldown of Archon by 20 seconds, gains 50% damage and use of slow time and teleport. In Geom is used and relied upon to reduce the cooldown of Archon even further. At a minimum I recommend at least 60% CDR. With 60+ CDR, 15 stacks of gogok and In Geom procs, Archon will quickly be ready after it expires. Because of this, the ring of the zodiac is not used or needed with this build.
The operation of this build calls for buffing with magic weapon and ice armor before continuing in the rift. Next, teleport off to find an elite pack. Archon will make quick work of elites and allow for quick mobility in order to find more. Refrain from killing low density trash mobs when there is no elite ingnited, as you will not have enough Firebird stacks to efficiently kill them. The only time its reasonable to kill trash is when u can obtain and maintain 20 Firebird stacks. Otherwise just move on in search of another elite pack. Focusing on elites will also ensure that In geom is procced often and make your clear time fast and effective.
I am writing this guide on 8/8/2016 and season 7 began just a few days ago. My unbuffed sheet dps is around 700k and paragon is just over 600. With this I was able to obtain rank one wizzard in hardcore with a solo Greater Rift 75 clear in 12:56. So its very effective with obtainable gearing and paragon. It is equally effective for speeding thru lower level rifts. It will work well for solo or in groups.
I hope that you enjoy playing this build as much as I do. If you have any questions feel free to ask in the comments below and I will try to help in anyway I can.
A lot of the toughness comes from using halo and apd's, but the endless walk set also adds a lot of mitigation when moving. I personally like to have near a million hp. So at the moment I place all my core paragon points (after 25% ms) into vitality to achieve it. Also the Esoteric and Gizzard gem provide massive defensive too. Gogok gives some dodge too. One more thing, 20 Firebird stacks provide 60% damage reduction for 2.5x more toughness. Hence this is another reason why its not wise to hang around and fight trash mobs w/o 20 stacks. So in general I would recommend that after an elite pack has been killed, just move on to the next pack as quickly as possible. Its when traveling between elites and w/o Firebird stacks that toughness can be an issue. That is where the endless walk set helps, giving double toughness while moving. I hope this helps.
Great solid HC build for wizard. Destroys Pure Power.
