Build Guide
Hey boyz!
In my opinion/experience this build is currently the strongest possible monk setup for pushing the highest SOLO GR on a monk!
This build is trash for T10-13 Speed farming, for a speed build check: http://www.diablofans.com/builds/82237-ltk-monk-t11-13-speed
Please note: I always keep my diablo fans guides up to date and will be making adjustments to the guide whenever there is a shift in meta! so be sure to check back, and vote on the guide!
Basic game-play strategy:
- Dash every 4-6 seconds for the R6 Damage buff
- Cyclone every 5 seconds for 50% damage reduction (Pull monsters to templars Oculus Ring circles)
- Use Breath of Heaven on cooldown (when in combat)
- Use Epiphany on cooldown vs any dangerous monsters (almost everything)
- Hold down Crippling Wave
Important tips:
- You want to have +Max Spirit (secondary) on both weapons & paragon!
- You want to have secondary resist everywhere possible, or else your Harmony won't do anything!
- This build is very squishy, and you need to dodge almost every avoidable "BIG" hit.
Skill variations:
- Dashing Strike - Radiance (for slightly more dmg output but HUGE eHP loss)
- Inner Sanctuary - Temple of Protection (replace MoS - Need heavy CDR, Good for Epiphany downtime)
- WoHF - Fists of Fury (replace Mangle - Holy damage setup, Slightly worse IMO)
Legendary Gem variations:
- N/A
Kanai's cube variations:
- Lefebvre's Soliloquy - Subpar setup (if you have good Depth Diggers & Bad Lefebvre's Soliloquy!)
Hellfire Passive/Alternative setups:
- Near death experience (for HC players)
FAQ:
Q: Why do i die all the time?
A: Harmony optimisation needs to very good, and this build is inherently squishy.

I'd rather use CoE instead of Unity. And a Hellfire amulet.
Couldn't you get significantly higher damage output and damage reduction by using the Legacy of Nightmares ring set? If all of your items are ancient, then the set gives you 1300% increased damage and 52% damage reduction. That is a far greater damage bonus than the 100% damage bonus The Compass Rose and Traveller's Pledge set gives you. It gives you more damage reduction than Unity or Lefebvre's Soliloquy does individually. This means you can drop one of them, most likely Lefebvre's Soliloquy when soloing because Unity offers more damage reduction and you don't have to worry about keeping it up. In groups you would drop Unity and use the Ring of Royal Grandeur. Or, if damage reduction isn't an issue for you, then you can drop both of them and go with Convention of Elements for even more damage or Band of the Rue Chambers for greater spirit generation. This frees up the amulet slot for a Hellfire Amulet with the Exalted Soul passive, giving even more damage, or any other variety of amulets giving a variety of bonuses.
Am I missing something about the way damage bonuses are calculated? This seems like an obvious choice over the current arrangement to me.
Well, to get the Legacy of Nightmares ring set bonus, you can't have any other set items in use. So you'd have to remove the weapons and remove all the Raiment set pieces. The combination of the weapon bonus compounded with the Raiment 6pc bonus is far greater than LoN's 1300%.
