Build Guide
Quin69 here. Hey boyz!
This is the "One Punch Monk", updated for 2.4.1. This is now way easier to gear due to a damage buff to Sunwuko's, which means that this does not require all ancient gear for Legacy of Nightmares anymore.
Basic game-play strategy:
- Keep up your sweeping wind stacks and your spirit at all time.
- Focus on killing elites to have 100% In-Geom uptime.
- Kill enemies with Wave of Light.
- Because of how the belt works, try not to let enemies get to melee range. If your Sweeping Wind hits stuff, you are likely to lose your Sweeping Wind stacks.

This build seems like it has absolutely absurd amounts of damage. What about keeping nemesis in your inventory for swapping on pylons, cube Tzo Krin's, and pop on sage's helm/boots for Death's Breath explosions? Can you get enough damage to make that work in TX without huge clear loss or would you need full ancient or something?
The only part of Tzo Krin's that's cubable is the ranged portion, not the damage - you probably wouldn't want to do that.
Is it randomly that i.e. rings has higher prio on crit chanse then crit damage? wouldent crit damage be priority over crit chanse, if we guarantee crit everything and onepunch it?
edit: why do we stick with boon of the hoarder? purely for avarice band stacks? wreath of lightning or bane of powerfull instead maybe? written guide dosent match your video guide on this.
I think you might lose too much dmg, cause of the Wave of Light dmg on Tzo Krin's.. it can roll up to 150 %
I have been running the same setup, but with a furnace in the cube. White mobs get 1 shotted anyway. I also run a stone of jordan in lieu of the obsidian ring. No need for cooldown with ingeom. I would only run envious blade if i was running with low crit chance.
Thanks for the guide!
I'm running an alternate of this setup as well. With Kyoshiro's Blade and Envious Blade equipped and Torch in the cube - as well as Inna's belt and boots equipped and Kyoshiro's Soul cubed.
It is a bit slower, but since I don't want to get too close to the mobs (by dashing around, or dashing too close by accident) - it suits my playstyle just fine.
Hey, enjoyed your video. I'm building a mink for s6 want to use this. But ...color me stupid, how the the world to you even get all the gear before paragon 0?? In you video you keep saying poorly geared on paragon 0 I was confused by this. In a new season we start with no gear usually takes about paragon 300 to mass some what decent gears right?
Hello all,
I am going to try and run this build. However, how in the world do you get Wave of Light to do Ranged? I can't figure it out for the life of me...
You need the head item Tzo Krin's Gaze, which will allowed you to cast WoL at your target location (range)
I've farmed the set and have only 600k dps even with an ancient weapon it doesn't change much. Any idea why it's so low?
As far as I know Epiphany is still bugged with Tzo Krin's Gaze.
No, there's a well known bug with Epiphany where the initial impact zone of WoL can deal 0 damage on enemies with Epiphany active. There are plenty of videos on it around, and Quin showed it against an RG in the last few days of the PTR, so I doubt it's fixed yet. Used to happen to me all the time, and it was awful.
I am running this build and it does output a lot of damage very very fast. I one shot most things on TX with my crappy gear. Is survivability supposed to be this low though ? As soon as a mob even sneezes my way I am instant dead. I cannot deal with any damage at all from any mob on TX with this setup. This slows me down a lot since I can't just dash blindly forward as fast as possible I need to take it slow to make sure I kill stuff before they see me or I die all the time. Do I just need to git gud or is there something I am missing?
The Envious Blade drops from act 3 bounties.
So don't upgrade 25 daggers to legendary in cube like, khm, my friend did. Unless you want to have 22 Barbers and 3 Pig Stickers.
Chances are it is "git gud". Although the damage is amazing even with "crappy gear", the toughness is not due to the gears definition. With enough Ancient pieces, taking full advantage of Harmony (all pieces have single resistance and extra defensive affix instead of all resistance) and 400-600 Paragon levels the toughness should be sufficient to survive in T10.
The definition of survive is just the odd hit, the build should be nuking everything so fast that only lucky hits ever land.
But with the way Kyoshiro's Blade works, you don't want to be dropping your WoL in the middle of packs anyway. You lose out on the damage multiplier for the "initial impact zone" hitting 3 or fewer enemies. I'm not running epiphany (haven't needed it yet, but considering trying it) and most of the time I purposefully drop my WoL where the initial impact zone doesn't hit anything anyway.
Edit: Also, I've found Near Death Experience is better than Harmony for this build unless you have REALLY good gear (and maybe even still then...). My Harmony adds about 25% toughness right now, but I find I'm dying a lot less now that I've switched to NDE. No matter how good your gear is, harmony will never save you from eating a molten or an arcane laser. And if your gear isn't godly, it won't save you from accidentally dashing into the middle of a pack of elites, or from elites getting in a lucky shot immediately after you spawn them with nemesis bracers either. And if any of those happen and you die, sure you lose time, but more importantly, you lose your yellow experience pools. And that's no good.
So, for anyone reading this, if you're dying too much, swap harmony for Near Death Experience and see if that helps.
im confused to all hell i have been running t10 with out a prob using all the gear u have in this guide but i 2 shot elites and sometimes 4 shot bosses. but wth is up with all the skill switching i see you (Quin) are running with a different set up with a ton of dmg like jesus a ton of elite dmg. i have the gear for that is it better that way or the way you show on your guide? this is my first time playing a monk in season so can a noob get a clarification or what :)? which one is better your set up or the one you posted?
Once you have 90+ gems and paragon 1K+ you can use sages set (helm/boots)
you want to have a 1:20 Ratio for crit/crit damage, because for RG's and monsters that take damage to misc sources
and boon is just there to get avarice stacks/movement speed ~ its not 100% required
Yep ofc you have to farm the gear lol <3 But yeah it's so you know what yo run when you're in shit gear etc, and what to run when you have GG gear
Lmao, Not nerfed ~ you are probably dropping sweeping wind stacks!Which amulet would be best for this build i have 9800dex with the one i have currently equipped.
I feel like using the fire one would be much better but it feels like I'm doing less damage when using it.
